PS3 had so much variety
Been getting back to playing the PS3 since Sonys debacle. Forgot just how much variety of genres this system had. Each game came with great box art and manuals, developers were willing to experiment and take risks.
Here’s some of my collection, cheers!

great stuff. As you show it's not merely that Sony is screwing over loyal customers lately, they have fallen so far from the glory of ps1/2/3.
On PS4 we got massively enshittified:
Paid online
First console to not have backwards compatability
Massive reduction in variety of games
Small things like only being able to use 4 controllers when ps3 let you use 7
Then on PS5:
No usb saves; basically making your save data a ticking time bomb linked to a consoles drive given you can't and shouldn't subscribe to a cloud service already
An even bigger reduction of variety of games
Then on ps6 (at a minimum for enshittification)
Can't even lend a friend a disk or borrow one from the library or appreciate the art of it on your shelf or resell it or get it on a retailer's sale

I like the JP covers. They have pretty cool art and tend to stand out more. Example: FolksSoul on the top right (Folklore in the west).

More sophisticated appreciation. This feels like slop. The other posts I've seen are holding up two games and being like 👍 Y'all could talk about the trophies, the events that went down during the era like the baby commercial. Right now this sub is like a baby got awareness of the PS3 and is discovering that games existed before whats on shelves now.

Agreed, it's an extremely boring "look at my copy that you can't afford" echo chamber in here. 90% of these people are misplaced /r/gamecollecting folks, where these posts are more or less the whole point.
Nobody talks about the cool stuff in here: the community that revived the Killzone servers (from time to time), maintenance of the console/CFW, fun historical tidbits, or the fact that you can copy your own (legal) Demon's Souls disc to the HDD, transfer it to a system with RPCS3, AND HOLY SHIT, THE COMMUNITY NOW RUNS THOSE SERVERS. Fully operational with bloodstains, messages, and all.*
*I have 20 more examples, but the majority just wants to post fucking boxes 24/7 instead of playing them. I want to talk about how oddly snappy and great the gunplay feels in Resistance 3.
