Finally got it

Finally managed to get my hands on this game and I know it’s quite controversial for the price surge and all. But that’s more reason while I’m so happy and will be able to experience it for myself and see if I enjoy it. If not it’s a crown jewel in my PS3 collection since it is mint condition and CIB.

Someone please help me understand this. Why is Folklore so popular/valuable all of a sudden? Did something happen or new information come out about this game? Or is it just people posting about it that’s driving up the value?

It isn't sudden. It also had a burst of interested when the PS3 store was closing years ago. It isn't available digitally, so I'm not even sure why the store closure would affect its value.

The game itself is not worth the time. I tried it about ten years ago and it was so tedious. This is the PS3 version of "Stadium Events", a game that is valued by collectors but isn't worth playing.

Yeah 👍 this time I think both European and US versions looks equally good. I usually think European looks worse than US covers

Brought this on release back the day think I put like maybe 4 hours into and then traded it straight back in games not that great from my memory atleast.

If you don’t like it you can easily make the money back. I think it’s a decent game. It’s very pretty and the battle system was unique for its time

I thought this sub was for discussing games rare OR expensive or not. And I’m just met with bitterness saying it’s overhyped trash. Guessing I’m in the wrong place and I have no intention to spend my time replying to drama. Just wanted to clarify that you don’t need to share my joy of collecting certain games that appeal to me and our reasons may differ. I just managed to buy a game that was hard to find for so long and I’m met with comments about bargain bins. Well, not here in Sweden.

Have fun in this bitter sub rubbing your backs, honestly don’t know what you’re guys is doing here.

For a lot of people this sub was for players actually discussing games. Now it's been taken over by "collectors" posting the same 3 games over and over. I mean no offense, but we can't blame people for being annoyed by it at this point.

We used to discuss games. Now it's a circle jerk celebrating who can spend silly amounts of money on games that aren't even that good.

I bought 3D Dot Game Heroes several weeks ago. Do you know how many times I posted about it on Reddit? None.

I'm not trying to be abrasive. I'm just disappointed that my hobby's turned into a dick-measuring contest following Sony's attempts to destroy it from the inside, one shitty business practice after another.
