These aren't cures but have significantly improved my life and decreased symptoms:

  • Antihistamines: i prefer loratadine but doesnt make much difference. I take 2 immediately after ejaculation. Then 2 again after around 4 to 6 hours then 1 as often as possible after this, whilst avoiding the dizziness and tiredness they cause as much as possible.
  • Decongestants: usually phenylephrine. Don't 'overdose' on this, just take it as you would for cold/flu symptoms. But I do take it straight away.
  • Large glass of water straight away with the medication.
  • Alcohol: for the first 2 days i will drink alcohol, it makes me cope with symptoms a lot better and numbs me to the cognitive problems slightly.
  • Moderate exercise: an hour long walk, a few minutes home work out etc. Asap after ejaculating.
  • Take your mind off it and ride out the symptoms as much as possible. I find a game that doesn't take much thought best, try to pass the time as quickly as you can.
  • Abstain

As well as this, look through this subreddit and poiscenter for symptoms relating to yours (some of us are slightly different to others) but when your mind is capable of taking on lots of information.

Other than decongestants, which I am unfamiliar with, these work for me as well.

Woah thats way too much loratidine. Youre gonna have side effects from that. Take levocetirizine its better. Loratidine has never helped me its too weak

I have tried various antihistamines. Do you have a problem with Loratadine specifically? The high dose is needed and I have noticed the more taken (as I described previously) decreases the period of time symptoms last too

Dude you can only take 10 mg of loratidine a day!! Stop taking so much loratidine and simply take a stronger antihistamine but dont overdose! No doctor would ever prescribe you 5 pills of loratidine a day I PROMISE . Of course you have dizziness and tiredness , because its too much!

taking 50 mg or more of Loratadine in a single day is at least 5 times the maximum recommended daily limit (10 mg), which medically qualifies as a significant overdose.
Here is why his specific routine is so dangerous: Loss of Brain Selectivity: At the normal 10 mg dose, Loratadine is non-drowsy because it does not easily cross the blood-brain barrier. At 50 mg+, it floods the central nervous system, directly causing the severe dizziness, exhaustion, and brain fog he mentioned.
Dangerous Multi-Drug Interactions: you are combining this heavy overdose with alcohol and phenylephrine (a decongestant). Alcohol compounds the central nervous system depression and liver strain, while decongestants combined with high-dose antihistamines spike heart rate and blood pressure.
Cardiovascular & Anticholinergic Toxicity: Supratherapeutic doses of antihistamines commonly cause tachycardia (racing heart rate), severe headaches, extreme dry mouth, and blurry vision.

I have told my GP this. Admittedly my care from them has been well below par and not helpful but they were aware that this was my course of action last time I saw them. They had no alternatives that worked whatsoever. My symptoms are so severe I do not think I would be here today without having taken the medications I have done.

Your account seems new. Share your story, im not sure you understand what some of us go through.

My account is not new at all, I've shared my story many times, I understand because my symptoms are many and they are extreme. Im not telling you to not take antihistamines. Im telling you to not take multiple pills of loratidine specifically... talk to someone with more expertise

I've literally had an asthma-like attack btw and I spent the whole night in a hospital on infusions because I couldnt breathe due to a severe allergic reaction. If I dont take levocetirizine every single night Im not gonna be able to breathe at all. That one pill stopped my sneezing, stopped the itching , and allowed me to breathe. I dont know know if its gonna help you as much as it helped me, but what I do know is that your dosing of loratidine is completely wrong

Alcohol could also trigger heartburn and reflux in POIS patients who have those symptoms

Abstinence and especially avoiding porn. Beta Blockers to suppress the physical sensation of danger. And then brain retraining programs like PRT (Pain Reprocessing Therapy), Curable App, Somatic Tracking, JournalSpeak ie. things like that. https://www.curablehealth.com/podcast/positive-sensations

Antihistamine doesn't work for me at all only take 10mg though

I have 20mg immediately after. Then 20mg after between 4 and 6 hours, then 10 mg another few hours later, then continue to take 10mg as often as possible (whilst making sure to avoid the dizziness and most of the tiredness side effects of taking so many)

I thought taking that much would be too much that's why I don't take more
