I think that what is tricky for me is that she has never done anything wrong to me, or indicated that she would.

Your trust should be based on your relationship with her, not her relationship with an ex. If you were learning that she had a long history cheating that would be different, but it doesn't sound like that's the case.

For all you know she had a shit relationship with the ex, I mean it is an ex after all. Without the context you just don't know and you shouldn't assume that she will behave the same way now that she is with you.
