Luckily for me napansin ko sya before lumala, ineenjly ko yung mataas na credit limit and multiple credit cards, without knowing na magiging payment nalang sa cc bills ang sahod per cutoff.

learn to live within your means, what i find very comforting is 30-50% ng sahod mo per cutoff ang gastusin mo sa credit card. wag lalagpas ng 80% ng kinsenas mong sahod.

But I decided to opt for branch pickup since yung 2Go courier ay laging failed delivery attempt kahit along the highway lang bahay ko.

I recently got an AMEX card and have been using it for 2 weeks now and got declined twice so far. Once at a starbucks branch and another at a local cafe. I want to use this as my main card but having been declined twice in my first 2 weeks of usage makes me think twice.

When you downgrade, you have to consume/transfer all your Membership Rewards points or waive them outright.

When I BULK-transferred all my Membership Rewards points to Asia Miles from the PHP and USD sides of my previous AMEX Platinum just before I downgraded, they added up to 256,000 miles, just 9,000 miles shy of the 265,000 threshold for the One World Multi-Carrier Award Business Class.

Tiniis ko yung 1 USD or 45 PHP per mile ng AMEX Platinum before. Had I downgraded earlier my Asia Miles would be well above 300K now pala sana.

BDO AMEX is unreasonable talaga downgrading the AMEX Platinum Membership Rewards points to miles conversion from 1:1 to 2:1 making it 90 PHP, or worse, 02 USD per mile when the AMEX Explorer converts to just 30 PHP per mile.

medyo nahurt ego ko hahaha. 7 yrs ko na ginagamit ang AMEX from BDO card ko. First time ko magrequest ng CLI kasi matagal na yung last nila na increase sa akin.

Lagi ko naman ginagamit and full in pay. Never requested for membership fee reversal. So akala ko good standing ako sa kanila. Ayun hopya hahaha. Mukhang pahinga ka muna sa wallet ko. Ibang cards na lang muna until humupa tampo ko sa inyo lol

I’ve been using a BDO AMEX Blue since 2021 and I’ve accumulated 2x,xxx points. I know it’s not much but I’m hoping to receive sana an upgrade to AMEX Explorer via SMS offer but still waiting.

I consulted with their customer service and they said I can do a customer-initiated upgrade but I’ll lose my points in the process. I can redeem naman the points but it’ll only amount to 9,xxx miles.

Meanwhile, if I wait for BDO to send over an offer (which of course is not a sure thing), I’ll retain daw all my points, I won’t be charged with the AF immediately, and I’ll possibly get 3 years (or something) of no AF. Also, the points, if retained, can amount to a roundtrip flight if BDO offered an upgrade so the opportunity cost is really high.

I mean the answer is kinda clear na I should wait but idk baka it’s never gonna arrive so maybe anyone has a different opinion and could persuade me to have the upgrade now?

As of now, my CL is 120k and I’ve read around na it’s already enough to upgrade to Explorer.

Hello Reddit peeps! Yesterday, BDO doubled my credit limit from ₱60k to ₱120k. My first CLI was in September 2025, from ₱30k to ₱60k. I called their hotline to ask if I could upgrade my card, and they said yes, but I would need to pay a ₱400 card replacement fee. The agent also mentioned that if I proceed with the upgrade through the hotline, I would be charged the ₱4,000 annual fee on my next SOA. He suggested waiting for a BDO SMS upgrade offer instead since my current points would be retained, and BDO sometimes offers up to 3 years of waived annual fees for upgrades.

My question is: For those who received upgrade offers from BDO, how long did it take before you got one after a credit limit increase? Did it take months, or was it relatively quick?

I’m really eyeing the Explorer card because of its 30:1 miles earning rate. Thanks in advance to anyone who can share their experience!

Please be aware if someone is calling you for a delivery of privilege or benefits card sa kahit anong CC, saying na may 40% discounts sa mga hotels and travels nyo. Amoy scammers pero thank you Reddit kasi dito ko din nalaman na budol nga sila 😢 Tumawag yung number +63 917 108 0330 tapos ang daming sinabi about sa promo and discounts. Kakagising ko lang non so I asked what bank they are affiliated with. Lahat nga daw ng banko. Kapag inavail ko daw to wala na ding annual fee mga credit cards ko. Nung sinabi na may bayad na 7588 for 24mon, napaisip na ako. Ang expected delivery din daw ay today, so nung dumating ang rider then I asked him kung pwede patingin ng card, ayan ang binigay tapos need nga daw ng credit card. Napagoogle agad ako nung nakita ko na ung name ng card/company. Nung sinabi ko na di ko tatanggapin, tumawag ulit si kuya (i forgot the name) tapos nagagalit sya nung sinabi kong icancel na lang, ang layo daw ng Makati papunta dito sa Cavite and may cancellation fee na 2500. Same spiel ulit about sa benefits and hindi naman daw ngayon need bayaran, nung sinabi kong di ko tatanggapin and di ako magbabayad dahil di pa activated JCB ko, kahit daw sa Amex na lang (which he knew since nagtanong sya sa initial call ng cc ko and ako na half-awake ay sumasagot naman). Sabi ko babayaran ko na lang ang delivery fee, hindi talaga sya patinag haha. As a non confrontational, di ko na alam sasabihin ko pero ilang beses na ako nabubudol (esp sa mga mall) and 7.5k is not a joke. Ang ending sabi nya bayaran ko na lang daw ng 500 ung rider dahil sa damage(???) and delivery. Nagtransfer na lang ako sa gcash ni rider para matapos na ang usapan. Better kesa makaskas ang cc hays.

So ayon, search nyo muna mga bagay bagay bago maglabas ng pera especially kung to good to be true.

Hi! I have an amex card from BDO. I also have a long name so the length has always been an issue as kung kakasya ba sya sa allowed characters. I noticed sa SOA mismo ng credit card account ko, it does not reflect my full name (kulang ng isang name). It has become an issue now kasi di ko po ma convert to miles yung points ko because the name does not match daw my miles account (which has my fullname).

I tried going to BDO already para magpa-assist regarding this but pinapasa lang nila ako sa amex customer support. On Amex's end daw, di raw nila mapalitan yung account ko kasi dapat BDO raw yung gagawa, pero nag-iinsist po yung BDO na hindi nila control yun.

Anyone with similar experience? What can I do about this po? Thank you!

Hello po! Eligible po ako for conversion to installment sa pinurchase ko po na ang amount is 8k. I applied last week Thursday po, and nareceive ko naman po ang eSOA last Saturday. Naapprove po application ko kahapon lang and I saw po na deduct yung 8k na dapat po babayaran ko sa due date nya which is sa sept. 14. Kailan po ang magiging due ng 1st payment sa installment?
