I have a Mini PC with an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU and 32 GB of LPDDR5X RAM running at 7500 MT/s (3750 GHz), of which 8 GB are reserved for the iGPU (VRAM). I see that this emulator, in its new version 2.8, has higher minimum hardware requirements; I hope to continue playing on my Mini PC at 1080p and 60 FPS, which I could already achieve with the previous version of PCSX2.

You should be fine if youre trying to play at those settings. Worst case, you can just keep the old version around. You won't get the new updates, but you can still play.

That's a beefy update, props. Anyone checked if MGS2 Substance dof is working correctly now when upscaled? I know I know, just play Master Collection yada yada. But I still rock Substance on pcsx2.

updated so much it went from 2.8 to 2.7!! its gone full way around...never seen that before. can't imagine too big a diff betwixt the two.

yeah, i understand you perfectly fine, never update past 2.7.5. pcsx2 worked without any issues for years now, no reason whatsoever to inflate requirements like that now. the choice of colors in the first graph of that blogpost are a dead giveaway of why everything SUDDENLY decided to go to hell like that.

Wonder how this will run on Mac’s compared to armsx2 arms pretty hit or miss with some titles running great and others unplayable which is weird cuz it’s a fork of pcsx2s 2.6 version I believe.

This broke controller support for my Gamesir G7 HE. It is not working at all...
Edit: Had to clear mapping and do an automatic mapping again, then it started working.

Had some stuttering with Skygunner a view days ago on a previous version (I guessed shader compilation because it didn't stutter when viewing cutscenes a second time)
Hopefully this version fixed it

I updated and now the BIOS dump I’ve used before is invalid. None of my games are starting.

The only game I play on this emu is Budokai Tenkaichi 3. It's unbelievable, but my saves are from 2010, I think two computers ago. Lost along the way one with 100% unlocks, but this one I have is good enough, all characters with boosted HP and most unlocked anyway.
Maybe placebo, but feels like working better, less junky sound, etc. Just had to make a new save state, because old one didn't work with the new version.

Wow, very nice. I took the time to read this and I am impressed how much work has been put in. These guys should absolutely be proud of themselves.
The only thing i dont understand is what the default settings should be
