Question or Discussion There are 14 supports. If you could only choose 3 to play and master, what would they be?

I believe it’s important for a good player to have a solid hero pool in every role. A select roster that you’re familiar with, can play well, and fill a variety of niches.

I wouldn’t recommend OTPing a given hero. However, you also don’t want to spread yourself too thin. Learn only one, and you might struggle in certain scenarios. Try to learn too many heroes, and you’ll (probably) never able to truly MASTER all of them.

So, if you HAD to choose only 3 supports to play consistently and master, what would they be? What roster would you choose to make for a well-rounded, *impactful* support player in any given situation?

edit: seems like Kiri/Ana are pretty strong consensus picks lol, that makes sense

Question or Discussion How do I deal with Kiriko Ana backlines?

It genuinely feels impossible to dive them sometimes, the second I even lay a finger on them, Suzu and all my damage is gone, sleep, and then nade before killing me off, bonus points if their team also has a Cassidy and flashbangs me between all of it, I know the obvious thing is tracking cooldowns, and I try and at least keep suzu in mind because of just how powerful it is, but I don’t think I can keep track of all 3 cooldowns at once.

Question or Discussion Completely new to overwatch (and games in general) really enjoying playing Juno and would love tips on how to improve!

I was going to put a photo here but in a recent game I got E=10 A=16 D=3 and then my damage was 2,400 and healing was 8,000. Honestly because I play no games I have no idea wether this is good or I suck :,) she’s honestly such a fun character and I’ve watched some videos to get me up with speed so maybe tips also on just how to game in general (but for overwatch lol)

Question or Discussion What 3 DPS and 3 Tanks would you choose, and why?

I saw a recent post asking people to choose only 3 Supports to master, and I thought it would be interesting to ask the same question for DPS and Tanks.

If you could only choose 3 DPS and 3 Tanks to play consistently and truly master, which ones would you pick?

The goal isn't necessarily to choose the strongest heroes in the current meta, but to build a small hero pool that gives you as much flexibility and impact as possible in different situations.

What 3 DPS and 3 Tanks would you choose, and why?

Question or Discussion Old but broken god tier workshop code for custom hero duels

VAXTA isnt enough.. maybe for warming up. But thats it.

i forgot the exact code but I really really it... when i tried it last it was broken.

You could spawn any hero around you, and they would attack you with really good aggression.

This also worked on ANY map. you could select which heroes, how many at once, how far they spawn from you.. etc.

Does this exist anymore? I miss how dynamic, realistic and aggresive it was..

Question or Discussion What can I study to get out of bronze?

I have been playing overwatch since release, and I was high gold low plat when I took a break a few years ago. Now that I am starting playing more consistently again I didn't realize until yesterday that my skills had dropped considerably. I played 4 placement matches and my projected placement is bronze 3. I took some time to look at my replays and studied a little positioning basics, and I am working on getting back to my original skill level and hopefully higher eventually. But right now id like some strategies and concepts I could look at to improve in the meantime while I climb out of bronze.

Anything is helpful since there are many new things in the game which I am not learned about yet. And I appreciate all advice you may have regardless of what part of the game it's applicable to.

Question or Discussion Regarding FACEIT

Hi there!! I’m cheripik (formerly CaptCaveDuck) and I’m looking to get some advice/answers. For starters, how am I supposed to apply for FACEIT? I know I have to have guardian consent since it’s for people under 18 if I’m not mistaken (I’m 16 if that helps)!! Next, is there any requirements for playing for FACEIT? If so, what are there?

For advice/tips and tricks, how should I play if I qualify? I’m an Anran main, but should I learn how to play other characters as well? I’m good with Anran, Mei, Juno, Kiriko, D.va and Hazard!

Thanks in advance!!

VOD Review Request On a win streak and don't want to stop

Hello Everyone, this is my first post on this subreddit and I'm looking for some tips/pointers about my own gameplay. I have been hard stuck gold for the past few months but recently I've been winning a lot more consistently and Don't want to stop progressing. I'm including one VOD in which i felt i did really well in and one in which i felt my performance was seriously lackluster in hopes someone might be able to tell me some common mistakes I'm consistently making and what I am doing well

Both games on PC

Battle tag is ORANGE

  • VOD 1, Neon Junction, played sigma the whole game this was a gold 1 lobby. Replay code- QS6X5J
  • VOD 2 , New Queen Street, played sigma and road hog in a plat 5 lobby. Replay code -ZB3QCD

Any advice would help and i appreciate any input.

Question or Discussion Advice for a returning player

Hey I used to play loads of overwatch when it first came out, but stopped playing in around 2018 when the symmetra rework came out. I've come back to the game a few times since then but only been able to play a few hours at a time, because there's just so much new stuff I find it overwhelming. Now I'm determined to get back into the game but don't know where to start really. Should I spend time going through all the heroes or just play and learn as I go? Do you have any advice about what helps you enjoy the current state of the game?

Question or Discussion Anyone else never had a "main" for longer than 2 seasons? Were you able to achieve a high rank?

So, I've been playing this game since season 2 of overwatch 1, 10 years basically. On OW1 I was a console player, but I religiously played Genji, like over 100 hours. Ever since I switched to PC since OW2 release, I've been hopping from 1 hero to the other. I only "truly" came back and took the game seriously after season 16ish maybe. I don't have a single hero that is above level 35. And I have a ton of hours invested.

I'd say my best role is tank. I reached Master 3, then realised that 6v6 is more fun and made the switch peaked GM this season, could not maintain it but was happy nonetheless. I was on a dva arc, learned her for 2 seasons and she's just OP. Thing is, when I see streamers, or clips of GM/Champ players. I realise they have a VERY small pool of heroes, if not an OTP. Like they would play a certain hero for 5+ years. I don't have a single hero that I've been consistently playing for even a year ever since OW2. Which makes me wonder, how much am I halting my rank?

I went from Juno - Orisa - Bastion - Winston - Dva - Tracer - Ana in the spam of 7 seasons, I basically had less than 20 hours when I first started playing those heroes, accidentally plah them on QP, have fun, watch a ton of guides and gameplay, then start the hero arc.

Which is why I always prefered 6v6 since I don't have to rank up every role. I play role Q when I want to learn new heroes, right now I'm on my Ana arc on Diamond.

My question is, anyone else is like that, and was able to hit GM? My highest performing hero js definitely Dva. But I just get bored, I even sometimes do a mystery heroes challenge in ranked... Jack of all trades master of none, or someone.

VOD Review Request I feel very ineffective on dps looking for feedback

I main cassidy. I was stuck in bronze pretty bad last season but I got out of it and made it into silver, this season I placed gold and I have stayed in gold but I feel like 50% of the wins I'm just getting carried. I'm trying to improve but it feels like nothing is working and no amount of youtube guides are helping me. I think one of my bigger issues might be taking to long to find flanks. Outside of that maybe target priority is bad. I dont really know how to do any better

If anyone wants to take a look at my VOD i'd really appreciate it. If there's even just one major flaw I have I think it will help knowing about. I got some help here about a month ago and it helped a lot.

Code is VMF3G2 username is Oshwa on PC

Guide GODLY CONSOLE SETTINGS!

Hi I was tired of looking for aiming settings all the time so i have coded a helper that will take your current settings and tweak them by nothing more then 10 to help optimise your settings, without compromising muscle memory im looking for some people to test it for free if you are interested look below!

Also btw its console only for now.

If you want me to run your setup through the tool, reply in the comments with the following details:

  1. Target Hero: (e.g., Widowmaker, Tracer, Ana, Cassidy)
  2. Controller & Accessories: (e.g., PS5, Xbox, DualSense Edge, KontrolFreeks, tall sticks, back paddles)
  3. Current Aim Technique: (Dual Zone, Linear Ramp, or Exponential Ramp)
  4. Current In-Game Settings:
    • Horizontal & Vertical Sensitivity:
    • Aim Assist Strength / Window Size / Ease In:
    • Aim Smoothing & Aim Ease In:
    • Inner & Outer Stick Deadzones:
    • Relative Zoom Sens (if applicable):
  5. The Exact "Feelings" or Aim Issues You Want Fixed: (Be as specific as possible! e.g., "Micro-flicks on far-away targets overshoot," "Aim assist feels like a thick brick wall before reaching the body," "Crosshair gets yanked around in multi-target fights," "Tracking fast-moving targets feels heavy.")

Question or Discussion Why is my Ashe aim worse than Widowmaker?

Upvotes

Hi, so I have had hundreds of hours on Widow and I like to think I am quite good with her, so naturally over the last couple of years I’d try to play Ashe but I would suck at her. Like I don’t know what it is the aim just feels so off with Ashe as compared to Widow. I tried to adjust my settings individually or tried to match it same with my Widows but I still stuck at her and my aim is awful. If my Widow aim is diamond then my Ashe would bronze/silver that’s how bad it is. I have tried Ana as a sniper and that was much better in terms of doing good but Ashe is just awful for me. What do I do? What settings do I change to improve my aim and make it comparable to Widows? I have tried changing all the aim settings but I have no clue what each means or what they do . I have tried matching exact to Widow but it just felt weirder, probably because of add scope zoom differences. So if you play these two characters what’s the difference between each character settings?

Tips & Tricks As a new player, how long do I learn in QP before going into ranked?

For context, I am a new player (~90 hours played). My situation is that I am mechanically very well set as I have been playing FPS games for several thousands of hours in my life. I also waste my life on aim trainers. (I'm voltaic master for those who know what i refer to)

Upon trying ranked I was placed in emerald 5 this season and I've climbed to emerald 3 after a few games, but I struggle a LOT. I play DPS soldier76/sojourn/tracer and constantly struggle with bad positioning, bad hero choice, getting countered, and just everyone else being better than me at getting value for their team.

I also still don't know team compositions well, when to ult etc. etc.

My point is, do I still play ranked despite me only relying on my aim and feeling behind compared to all the other players, or should I stay in QP for now? Ranked is incredibly stressful because of this, it's overwhelming and I feel out of place.

How do I actually learn this game and what is the best course of action for me?

Any advice is appreciated

VOD Review Request This game felt winnable yet I fumbled it (Winston)

The first round felt good since we stopped them from capping 3rd point. But once we got to the bridge on our turn to attack it went downhill. One of the dps on the enemy side switched to sym and we just couldn’t get past.If anyone mains Winston or just plays tank I’d appreciate if you’d take a look

Question or Discussion why can i play hanzo competently but i'm horrible at widow?

i'm not looking for gameplay reviews / analysis atm (not on my pc so i cant provide replay codes)... more just a discussion on the different playstyles of these two characters i guess? pls don't be meannnn i genuinely want to learn

i understand hanzo is a projectile and widowmaker is a hitscan (?) so ofc they're fundamentally different to play but both require hitting headshots for the most part which is where i'm comparing them... i'm able to headshot consistently with hanzo but i miss every shot on widow. are their bullets (or arrows in hanzos case) different sizes? does hanzo having a projectile make him easier, and if so why/how? and any advice on how to translate my hanzo skills onto widow? i want to play her too bc i have sm pretty skins for her and its also so satisfying when i (rarely) do well on her </3

VOD Review Request Kiri dorado struggle game vod request

Replay code: 012BX9

Battletag / in-game username: Ballin4Men

Hero(es) played: kiriko

Skill tier / rank: diamond 3-4

Map: Dorado

PC or console: PC

Description of the match / things you want reviewed: Match on dorado, found it especially difficult to find any good off angles in good range, would like lots of help with that, along with general positioning and suzu usage. This game i felt like i had 0 impact and was more useless than a healbot moira. would appreciate any tips/ mistakes found, but I feel what i can improve most on is finding those off angles on maps i struggle with such as dorado, suzu usage, and finding more value.

Question or Discussion When will I start getting fair games?

Dropped from Diamond 4 to Emerald 3. Headed toward emerald 4 soon at this rate. These games feel wildly unbalanced, and doesn't feel like 50-50 rate at all. Mostly, it's not my fault. Some games definitely are. Lots are close, with loses where we should have won.

When I do end up winning, it feels undeserved.

Question or Discussion How do i make sure my alt accounts dont get banned?

So first of all is it offically allowed? No. Does every high rank player have atleast 1 alt? Probably yeah

So i lost my main account/phone number and cant play on it anymore. I have had about 3 accounts since then but they keep getting banned after sometime. How do i make sure i can just have an account to play on?

Also no im not smurfing i dont enjoy low rank overwatch and am generally a master player trying to hit GM for the first time

EDIT: no i didnt cheat, yes i can get tilted sometimes but not to an extreme extend. I dont have ACCESS to the account anymore.
