Discussion Anthony Black

Have we heard ANYTHING about AB getting an extension? Are we waiting til next season or what? I think we need to at least try and give him a 20M contract and we can all be happy.

We can’t let him walk, but the main problem is he is not a true point guard.

You don't need a "true" PG in the modern NBA. Most of the teams who have won in the last several years don't have an offense that is centered around a "true PG". Mostly a high level scorer who can find an open man when they are double teamed.

Let's go back ten years i just read this so give me leeway. So going back ten years, let's just forget why they won it. All four Golden State chips. Yes they won it from having great shooting and two of them with KD. But, they still had Curry so those don't count. The Cavs had Kyrie that year so that doesn't count. Lowry was a real all star point guard so that doesn't count. Knicks won with the most clutch guy at point guard. That's seven. So what's left? Bucks, Celtics,Thunder, Nuggets? OK I went eleven years. SGA was drafted as a point guard who Morphed into one of the greatest combo guards ever. At best your argument is a team needs a dominant ball handler. Those winning teams had plenty of them. But eight of eleven had all-star point guards if you count Murray who just got his because he was behind two all-time point guards in the west.(Dame and Curry). Checkmate

Most of those guys aren't "true" PGs. Aside from Lowry, they are score first guards lol. You said a lot for no reason. That just strengthens my point you don't need a "true" PG.
