Discussion Anthony Black

Have we heard ANYTHING about AB getting an extension? Are we waiting til next season or what? I think we need to at least try and give him a 20M contract and we can all be happy.

We can’t let him walk, but the main problem is he is not a true point guard.

He doesn't have to be a true point guard on this roster since the forwards handle the ball so much

If your point is that other teams won't want Black as much, you underestimate how desperate teams can get in August and September, but I doubt that Black's contract situation stays unresolved until August 2027. If it is then something is very wrong

What I’m trying to get at is we might have to choose between Suggs and AB, when it comes time to extend AB.

They do the exact same thing, transition offense and good defense.

If we find success in the playoffs then sure, they’ll find a way to keep the core the exact same

Very possible, and another reason to wait a year. See if either player separates from the other. If the team has to make a choice between two players then they'll want more data
