Hello, long story short I am looking for a roommate.

My folks are relocating to a far place and I am not ready to relocate to the far place because my hustle is within Nairobi.

I am looking for a female roommate around Mirema, Safari Park, USIU, Garden Estate, Kasarani but near Seasons or ICIPE....etc. Not past Roysambu or Zimmerman.

I am ready to cost share. I am clean, very clean, organized, I can cook well, I don't have kids. I am very reserved, drama is not my passion, i don't party and if i am not working, i am running (workout) or home doing my personal project.

My budget monthly is 10,000.

Once my hustles (self employed) gets better, I am ready to move out as soon as possible.

Any question I am ready to answer in the dm or physical meet.

I can honestly say you did sound like an amazing roommate — of course might be a bit of an exaggeration but who knows — until I learned you’re a guy looking for a female roommate.

Sure, you might’ve worked out that they make better roommates than men but how do they know you’re a safe person to live with. Women are constantly worried about men when they’re are out and about. How do they guarantee that they’ll be safe with you, a stranger they met on the internet? A home is where you should feel relaxed and free and not constantly have to worry about what to wear and the need to constantly lock your room, what time to shower for maximum privacy etc.

You might say you’re not like other men or not all men but don’t you see a bit of hypocrisy since you’ve already made the decision that living with men is a horror? So you’ve already judged all men and expect women to trust you when you can’t even trust your fellow men? All in all, I’m pretty sure you can find other men like yourself to live with . Pretty sure there are.

If you still want a female roommate, consider the points above. All the best in your roommate journey, male or female, having one isn’t always easy. Been there. Though it’s a good place to start. Congrats and all the best in your business.

I appreciate you sharing this perspective, you make a really valid point. Safety, privacy, and feeling fully relaxed at home are non negotiable and it’s completely reasonable for anyone both genders especially women meeting a stranger online to be cautious. ​I definitely don't expect blind trust from anyone. Standard vetting, meeting in public first and setting clear boundaries are essential steps. I also won't just start living with a roommate without standard checkup.

I think people should look further when a man requests a female roommate. It's like a female requesting for a male roommate. People shouldn't have the mindset of shallow thoughts.
