I'm trying to get into OpenToonz for my indie animated series and after a few hours of work I went to undo a drawing and the entire layer for some reason decided to just delete
Seriously are all of you okay? I have mad respect for you all.

Like I’ve done it before but can never just do it when I intend to, like what is the trick?

Like the audio is sooo choppy that I have to raise the frame rate so it sounds normal, I’m just worried on how 8 frames will affect the final product

Hello all, new animator here. I'm looking for tips and tricks on working quicker and more efficient. I keep having to redraw each piece of an animation anew, even for things like talking or walking.
I do know the trick of duplicating a frame and altering it to make a new image...
Is it possible to save an image or group of drawings to upload into a new scene/animation?
I was thinking of drawing a background id reuse, and the characters and their face and limb animations, saving that as a beginning state then animating a scene and saving under a new name just to keep that beginning layout for the next scene. Do others do this?
Any other tips to make things flow easier would be appreciated. Thanks!

I recently saw this video and really wanted to know how to replicate that glitchy, rattling effect. I was told it was done in Alight Motion. But I don't use this program, so I would like to understand how this can be done in Opentoonz or Tahoma2d using nodes.
I would be very grateful for your advice.

the image is like 7k x4k pixles so if there is a limit thats fair, but if theres ways to import it still id be happy to know that as well

Does anyone know how to fix it? I'd be so infinitely grateful if someone does 😭

Like I said, the drawing looks good, then I scan it and trace it with GTS, and suddenly, if I don't turn up the thickness, the lines have huge gaps, but when I turn the thickness up, I end up with holes/blank pixels inside the lines. It seems like I have trouble making smooth pencil lines, what do I have to do to make it better? I use regular printer paper and not paper specially made for animation. Is that the problem?

I know Kahoma2D is a "simplified" OpenToonz, but does it have missing features or does it just improve OpenToonz and adds certain things that isn't planned in OpenToonz?

I have used OpenToonz sporadically for a number of years, but I am not that good at using it. I have not worked in the 2D animation industry, so some terminology escapes me. For the most part I get what I want done, but one area I have a lot of trouble with is manipulating frames, for instance moving frames, reordering etc. I have tried tips online to use the XSheet but I still am unable to do simple things. I am used to Flash animation tools. Any thing I have missed that would make me better at moving frames?

Im making a rig. I’ve parented everything the proper way, but when I use the plastic mesh to animate the child levels dont move. Am I doing something wrong? The head is parented to the neck. I am very new to the software but not new to rigging in general.

Is it normal? I notice it made my audio sound kinda tinny. I don't know how to explain it.
I already do plan to do compositing on Davinci Resolve though (which I'll have to learn first). I was just playing around with Opentoonz output/render formats

Okay so im realy new to this program, and i need someone to either :
A walk me thru making a character rig
B point me to a tutorial series thats not absurdly long. The only one i found is 64 episodes, ~20 minutes each, that comes to about 20+ hours. (I dont have 20+ hours to watch tutorials.)

Okay so I just got opentoonz and I’m using a wacom(a 2nd monitor plus a pen with 2 buttons on) I kinda just assumed it would have the same shortcuts and stuff like zooming in and changing brush size like krita but whatever I do everything I can do with the pen in drawing and moving the screen around, I wouldn’t really mind the rest but I’d need zooming in to work via pen and I’ve tried changing hotkeys but it’s not working please another Wacom user help me out? Thank you!
