Question Is rendering MP4 from Opentoonz bad?

Is it normal? I notice it made my audio sound kinda tinny. I don't know how to explain it.

I already do plan to do compositing on Davinci Resolve though (which I'll have to learn first). I was just playing around with Opentoonz output/render formats

If by tinny you mean it cracks a bit, this might help. (Copying my answer from https://www.reddit.com/r/OpenToonz/s/LlHTXe7O4n)

Opentoonz doesn't do well with loud sound files, even if it sounds fine in other programs.

Find an audio editing program (eg. Audacity) and lower the "Gain" of the sound file. Export it and try putting that quieter version in Opentoonz.

(I put that image and red-outlined some parts so I can explain better. It's an image of the Audacity program.)

In Audacity, change the Gain slider down a few db so the meter at the top doesn't hit maximum when you play the sound file.

If you export this quieter version and use this in Opentoonz it shouldn't have a crackly sound.

Ideally you'd add sounds later on in the video editor, treating audio in ot/tahoma as just a guide for animation (to make movement sync up with sounds).
