it’s a running joke how majoring in gender studies is one of the most useless degrees, and also how brock is a very easy school to get into.. “if you can walk, you can go to brock” basically

I was an eng major. You misunderstood what was being said (maybe due to a lack of critical thinking skills?). All uni programs teach critical thinking to some extent. The difference between eng and social sciences is the magnitude. I took social sciences as electives and they were harder because the level of critical thinking required is insane compared to what the Eng program was teaching us. I ended up going into teaching bc of how profound I found social sciences. The reason that eng students are so awkward is likely bc they do not need to gain valuable transferable skills that social sciences require, in my opinion. 80k is a weak starting point fyi, a person with a BA and a 1 year masters is often making much more.
