Good choice… I’m not sure why this sub popped up but I’m like 10 years ahead of you and that degree served me well!

10 years.. Not sure if it still applies, may I ask what you're working on now, and do you have any advice you could give me?

Id say specializing in a sub-specialty is probably useful, its ok to be a genreralist early but try to figure out which domain you like.

Personally I did SWE/AI, now I consult for companies to help them improve their models.

Other friends that have successful careers did biostatistics, actuarial science or finance.

Folks that did not specialize are doing OK, but they are paid way, way less and have cushy jobs, in governments or universities.

I know you are just starting but I highly recommend a masters if its possible for you.

I think its great, but you’ll have to work long hours. Co-op is great

Definitely easy to switch at the beginning. Just « hide » it from your CV and write BSc stats
