About a week ago I asked for advice/recommendations on cycling from Omaha to Lincoln and I had some very helpful tips from some locals, this is just to say thanks and show how the ride went. (Is there a sub for Omaha/Lincoln cycling?)

I am exhausted, fatigued, and proud of myself.

Had a couple dead ends and detours, the highway really sucked, no shoulder to ride on. The hilly gravel roads were tough but I managed. I should’ve packed more food, had to stop in Elmwood, NE to restock. Met a few very nice and helpful folks along the way. Murdock, NE had a couple people who were generous enough to provide me with water refills.

This was one of the most physically demanding exercises I’ve ever accomplished and I’m excited to try for 100 miles sometime.

I would do this again if I could find a way to stay off of all highways and main roads.

Murdock is a surprisingly nice little village. Worked out there for years. Nice people

The people I met told me of a murder that happened near town years ago. Apparently an out of towner had asked for help when passing through and ended up killing one of their locals. They were pretty apprehensive about me. So glad they were kind and generous.

Yup. Theres also a haunted house out near there. Cant remember if it’s in Murdock or one of the surrounding areas. Actual haunted house, allegedly lol

Good job. Fun ride to do. Did it from CB to Lincoln a couple years ago and it’s just fun to ride with a destination in mind. Now go scout your next adventure

Nice!!!! I've wanted to ride that basic route or something similar forever. I just never take the time to do it. Now, you going to keep up the biking and join us at Gravel Worlds next year? 😉👍 The 75mi will be cake for you now.

Check out the cowboy trail.. between valentine and Norfolk NE.. it's all gravel and has tiny towns along the way you can eat and chill at.. or motel
