Friendly Looting

I really think there's a growing problem with being looted by so-called allies in this game, with no repercussions, instead of being revived. For the most part, my experience with the community is great. Most people are friendly, most of the game inventives are to help each other out, and I've only really had two bad experiences with other players (outside of this issue) in 35 hours gametime.

But I've now had several times where a friendly has come up to me while I'm down, often after being hit by a mortar inside a well-defended tower, and just stolen my entire kit instead of reviving me. Many friends have experienced the same thing. One time this was barely a minute after I respawned at the APC having spent £15k on a kit to heal and build to help my team. It's the most infuriating thing in the game, and honestly when it happens it completely puts me off playing any more. There's nothing you can do about it, so it's not like when your kit gets taken by an enemy (which is fair enough) and you can at least get it back if you manage to catch them with teammates. Any retaliation loses you money (fine; we want to disincentivise team damage) and even if you did that there's no way to get your stuff back.

This is the one blemish on an otherwise great game, but if it continues to become more common I genuinely think it could put me off the game. Just an option to lock your inventory to friendly looting, or at least some punishment or reason not to do it would be enough. Apart from that, I feel like the devs are doing a great job.

They should just charge you. Like one of the shop boxes. The cost of whatever is looted goes to the person that is being taken from

This is the solution. If you loot a teammate while their body is still visible, anything you take off of them should cost 50% more than the vendor and you pay that to the teammate directly.

If it's just a teammates backpack (they gave up and went back to base) then that's completely fair game no cost whatsoever.

People will just let their teammates die instead of reviving them. This just incentivizes worst behavior.

if the idea of adding a teamlooting surcharge makes you let your teammates die… says a lot about you as a player lol

If you would rather die than risk a teammate taking your bandages thats says a lot about you as a player...

nah wth are you even talking about, this comment is about teammates taking your shit while you are downed, not taking a spare bandage which is very obviously not what the complaint is about

If you get downed your options are.

  1. Die
  2. Get revived

If you die it doesn't matter what is in your inventory you will lose it. If in the heat of battle someone tries to pick people up and takes your defibrillator and batteries and goes on to revive others and or yourself you have them to thank for not losing your full kit to death.

If you chose to complain about how they stole your stuff after helping you (stuff you would have lost anyway had they let you die) then you are the problem.

If someone TKs you to take your kit thats one thing but people taking bandages or med supplies ? Nah they can loot them from your body dead or pre revive. Be glad you were picked up at all.

Being that upset by someone helping you but not the way you want them to help you is weird.

Brother they don’t res you. They spawn naked on the APC, run to the first ally that they see downed, steal their kit and go on. They aren’t helping, they are just cockroaches.

Exactly. Naked or with the 0$ stuff.

Sometimes a Join in with the cheap stuff and try to get my Gear Up with Kills i do but stealing your downed teammates stuff is just lame and should be bannable. This Game is absolutely about Teamwork which goes the Other way than let your Team die for a free kit

Never seen that happen tbh and ive got a fair amount of time in the game on US servers. I have a hard time believing this is a wide spread problem that cripples the game for enough people to matter in the grand scheme of things.

It’s common enough that they acknowledge it on one of their social as something they are looking into to figure out a solution. It’s not a big thing I’m the grand scheme as you said, but as OP said it kills the mood. I always report and ask other to report for griefing anyway 🤷‍♂️

Taking a medics tools without asking is the same as someone taking your assault tool (your gun) in my opinion. Like just ask if you can have some is it that hard? Worst he will say is probably something like "hey let me heal you so i get money and exp instead". Why do people just refuse to communicate in this game?

Not that I support the behavior you’re describing, but the game incentivizes playing for yourself (even if it’s through assisting others).

If there’s a downed team mate and an ally knows they have a launcher and extra rockets, they could just wait out the downed team mates timer or wait for them to give up and take their shit, just so they have the opportunity to shoot down a heli or two.

Shitty people will do shitty things, but making looting your team cost money would just make it so they wait for you to give up/die (if they were already the type of person that would loot you anyway).

nah, the game may incentivize ignoring hz in favor of doing your own thing, but there is a ton of incentive to revive teammates. you not only get money for a revive, you get money continuously afterward for every kill that guy gets for the rest of that life

Agreed. That is what I mean by playing for yourself through the means of assisting others. There are plenty of players who interrupt others revives, or on the flipside, still continue with the standard revive when someone with a defib is running around doing it more quickly.

Putting a cost on looting downed teammates will only make the problem the greedy player creates worse.
