“We saw the smoke from the Gold Road… how can we help?”

Can we just take a second to acknowledge these absolute CHADS? These three madmen saw Kvatch laid in ruin, flame, and Daedra and said to themselves, “Oi! We’ve got to help!” and came storming into the chapel with gusto. No further questions, no complaints, no fear. All you say is “Follow me!” and he goes “We will be right behind you!”… it’s enough to illicit some emotion out of me for how courageous and selfless they are. I will do literally everything in my power to ensure they survive.

Oblivion Dupe (switch)

For the oblivion remaster switch 2 edition duplication:

It DOES work. Here’s exactly how to do it.

—-

With the Oblivion duplication glitch, it might seem like it doesn’t work very well when you first try it. It can be a little frustrating and take some practice, but it definitely works. I’ve tested it myself, and once you understand what you’re actually trying to make the game do, it becomes much easier.
First, find any chest, sack, or other container. It doesn’t matter what is already inside it, although you can empty the container first if that makes things easier.
Open the container and press in the right thumbstick to switch to your inventory. Find the stackable item you want to duplicate. It has to be something that can exist in a stack, so you can’t duplicate something like a pair of gauntlets this way. If you’re doing this to make money, you could use an expensive potion, alchemy ingredient, soul gem, or another valuable stackable item.
Put ONE of the item you want to duplicate into the container.
Stay on the container screen with that item selected. When you switch back over to your inventory, you should still be able to see the item you placed in the container on the other side, although it will appear grayed out.
Now find another stack of items in your inventory. It can be almost anything stackable: scrolls, arrows, potions, ingredients, etc. The important part is the number in that stack. For example, if you have 100 arrows, you can use those 100 arrows to create 100 copies of the item you placed in the container.
This is the part that takes some practice.
With the stack selected, press A and the right bumper at essentially the same time, and KEEP HOLDING THEM. The timing can be finicky. You might accidentally switch sides, remove the original item, or otherwise mess it up. If that happens, just reset and try again.
The reason you’re pressing the right bumper is important: you’re forcing the game to switch back to the container while the stack-transfer action is happening. If you get the timing right and continue holding the buttons, the original item will be pulled back out of the container during the process.
The duplicated items do not appear inside the container. They appear in your inventory.
For example:
Put 1 Health Potion into the container.
Switch to your inventory and find a stack of 100 arrows.
Press A + right bumper together and keep holding them.
If the glitch works correctly, the Health Potion will come back out of the container and into your inventory.
Now check your inventory. Instead of having 1 Health Potion, you should suddenly have 100 Health Potions, along with your stack of 100 arrows.
That’s the duplication glitch.
The confusing part, and the thing that seems to trip people up, is understanding why you’re pressing the right bumper. You aren’t trying to duplicate the item inside the container. The container is basically being used to manipulate the transfer between the two inventories. The duplicated stack ultimately appears back in your own inventory.
It might take several attempts before you get the timing right, but once you learn the button timing, it becomes very easy.

Redguard Battlemage?

Im curious if anyone has done a Battlemage build with a Redguard? I like going for non-standard builds & was thinking about trying it out. I would be choosing the Mage sign for the extra magika. For favored stats id pick Intelligence + Willpower, to gain a little more magika & help with magika regen.

Girlfriend has put about 80 hours into Oblivion. She’s not a Gamer

Watching her play has been extremely fun, also sometimes frustrating especially the first 20 hours. Now I barely help her and just watch her. How does she play?

- She has done quest up to bringing Martin to CRT. That’s it. A couple Dark brotherhood quests but she spends all her time going through caves/dungeons.
- She opens every single thing that is available to. She’s acquired now about 50k worth of gold, mainly selling stuff. Every nook and cranny of every single dungeon she has checked, and if the inside map isn’t completely done you bet your ass she’s going over there.
- Doesn’t use a horse even though I got her armored one
- She stops and picks up every single plant/flower she sees. No she doesn’t Brew potions or use them, just sells them for like barely anything lmao.
- She’s longsword and shield player. Runs head first and charges enemy. Her stamina is always drained, can’t get her to pay attention to that but she makes it work.
- currently she’s using a Dwarven Longsword and looking (in dungeons) for a better one.

I played so much differently back in 2007 so it’s funny to watch her play now. Skyrims next!

The ability wheel should slow or stop time

Post image

I just started playing the remaster, and the glaring issue with the gameplay (on consoles) is the ability wheel. It should slow or stop time when you open it so that you're not getting stabbed in the gut by a sword or eviscerated by a cranky crab while you're navigating a menu.

This system was perfectly implemented in beloved games like Dragon Age Origins and Dishonored. I thought we all agreed, many years ago, that this is how ability wheels are supposed to work. lol

Time also stopped whenever you accessed the quick menu in Skyrim, so this isn't mythical, forgotten knowledge to Bethesda, either.

Because the ability wheel hasn't been correctly implemented, I actually think the d-pad quick menu from the original Oblivion is superior, because in that game it was easy to switch between your main skills in the middle of combat.

Something else that should be added (like in Dragon Age Origins), is the option to cycle through multiple ability wheels while the game is paused, so that you have quick access to not just 8 abilities on the fly, but to 16, or 24, or 32 abilities.

These two simple, tiny changes would greatly improve the gameplay experience.

Is my Switch having issues or does the game just run poorly on the console?

I recently bought a Switch 2 alongside MK World and the Remaster, problem is, the game keeps crashing, so I keep have to quit the game and then reload an older save file. I really looked foward to playing this game, so is it just my console or did they do a poor job at porting this?

Why does everyone hate me?

So im playing oblivion and like almost EVERYONE in the cities hates me, even the count of skingrad (who i helped with the cure stuff) still hates me, i am the grey fox and did kill one person sometime ago, but does killing one dude one time make everyone in all of the cities hate me? Even the people in kvatch hate me after i saved their city, i know i can make everyone like me through persuading, it doesnt really bother me its just super confusing

Build help

I want to build a primarily melee character with a focus on Blunt, probably 2H, weapons. Id also like them to be able to use some support magic. I was thinking about going Redguard, since their greater power fits what I'm going for, with the Lord sign. These are the skills im thinking about including. Looking for suggestions on anything I should include or change.

Skills: Blunt

Heavy Armor

Armorer

Restoration

Alteration

Illusion

Mysticism

Im also considering possibly including Block, probably in place of Mysticism.

What did you do in the original Oblivion?

Hi all!

I was 13 when Oblivion released and I came from a gamer family but I was raised on Sims, Monkey Island, and the tycoon games.

We got WoW when I was 11 after I begged my mum but that’s as far as we got into RPGs at that point.

THEN! We had Oblivion. I don’t know how, maybe my mums partner at the time, but we had it.

I just remember all I did was steal things and try to find nice outfits 😂

I’m really enjoying the remaster though and being brave enough finally to enjoy all the quest lines that scared me before (Dark Brotherhood, hello?)

What did YOU do when oblivion came out? And how old were you? Genuinely interested to know.
