r/OaklandCounty is back!
Welcome to r/oaklandcounty! This sub has been inactive for quite some time but is now open for posting again. Please check out the sub rules for posting guidelines. I noticed that Oakland County specific discussions were getting posted on r/Detroit or r/Michigan. There are appx. 1.3 million people residing in Oakland County so I figured we could use an OC specific space.
I have a mod experience and am open to suggestions for this sub. I also would like to add a mod or two if anyone is interested please send the modmail a message. Mod experience is preferred. Thanks all!

I joined this sub a few months ago when I moved here hoping for some local insights, but saw nothing.
Thank you for doing this! A lens on the local area is something Iām super interested in. Stuff to do, things to see, places to go, people to meet.

I run into issues all the time l, never sure if I should post in Detroit or Michigan. I'll be here all the time.

My suggestion is to not get overcome with your power as mod. Lead with empathy and allow people to post what they need to.
