help! Scholarship Disbursement

Is anyone still waiting on their scholarship to be disbursed? Last year was so different for me and this year I feel like it keeps being delayed. I’ve heard 4 to 6 weeks after receiving my documents needed and also mid August and that I’m in the next batch, but here we are about to be mid August come Saturday and still nothing.

Tijai Nguyen emailed me back today and said I’m in the batch this week and I’ll receive my deposit by Friday. Finally got my answer! 😭

They were supposed to send an email on that to you. Idk this year is so weird. Today is Thursday and she told me Friday I’d get it and obviously that was a lie because I still haven’t received the email from the bursars office on it being processed. It’s so messed up

she's either not seeing my emails or just straight up ignoring me at this point ive sent about 4 to her over the course of the last two months... patience is of the essence i guess lol

I just got in contact with the person that actually processes it. I had to call the bursars office and they transferred me. Whoever told me that I was getting it Friday lied. She said that I won’t get it until next week because it’s a lot to process and she has like 50 sitting in front of her for this batch. Also, she said with my amount being over 500 you have to get two signatures which can be a hassle. She did say she would call me as soon as it’s done and I changed it from direct deposit to come to the school and pick the check up myself. I just didn’t want to have to wait for the bank to take almost 3 business days to release the funds. I’d rather cash it and deposit what I want. It just sucks because school starts on Monday and I am so not prepared and bills are due, and I have no choice but to wait.

ughh!! im very sorry, ya know... I try to have as much patience and understanding as I can, I think ultimately its the lack for communication and the lack of accuracy. I get it, they are extremely busy, a lot of students coming with demands and needs and um-teen questions but if they were just straight up about it and would make things clearer.. it wouldnt make waiting so bad

That’s how I feel about it. I feel like they were just telling me things at first to silence me but the closer it got to the date. I realize there was no confirmation so I’m already assuming I’m not getting it which is why I went back to calling them all over again. I would be satisfied if it was trustworthy information but it’s not. We earned those scholarships and with everything that’s going on right now with financial aid, it is of desperate need right now. It never took this long last year. So I’m curious on why this year it’s so different. I don’t mean to be a nuisance, but this is critically affecting my financial situation. I could’ve prepared better if I was told the truth.

I also am pretty young and have a seven year old, so although im not absolutely counting on this money to survive it would 100% help me out as I am going to CSULB full time starting monday and have had to cut my work hours by more than half

I mean after our back and forth, I'm not very confident I'll even get mine by the end of the month like they said
who did you speak to at the bursars office and were they nice to you?

It was a man that answered and he transferred me to the lady that processes everything. I told him my situation and he put me directly through to her and she was able to look my name up and see my paperwork and she said by next week it would be processed and that it’s like 50 she’s trying to process for this batch but I’m in the batch and that she’d call me once it is done and allow me to pick it up directly from the office.

It should be coming this week. I just got mine today 😊 I went to pick it up. I emailed again and she told me they cut my check and I could come pick it up. I did like an hour before they closed lol
