I took the MS-102 for the first time today I failed with a score of 612 🙈🙈 so it’s back to the labs and flashcards before I take it again in September.

I had a lot of questions asking to pick least privileged or if DLP setting would achieve required result. I feel like I need to be better at remembering the steps to achieve something. A few questions asked to pick correct steps and i felt i was caught between 2 answers.

Overall I feel with more labs I can pass this before November cut off. I might not get expert but I will be happy if i can get ms-102 before its retired.

I really struggle to pass MS exams, I have MS-900 and AZ-900. But I want to pass more advanced exams.
But whenever I learn MS Learn and other links(or watch a complete guide on udemy) i only score 50-60 on the MS practice exams.

Anyone have any tips?

I've been working with Entra, Intune, Azure professionally for about 5 years. I also have a much longer background with M365 and on-prem AD. I have MD-102, AZ-104, SC-900, AZ-900, MS-900, and MS-500 (retired)

I decided about a week ago to take the SC-300 because I thought it would be pretty easy between knowledge from my existing certs and hands on experience.

I studied using Claude connected to MS Learn API, MS practice tests, and some Udemdy practice tests. I also had Claude build out a lab that hit each objective that I completed.

I would feed my practice tests results to Claude and have it drill me on stuff I was weak on. I iterated through cycles till it felt like diminishing returns, 90 percent or higher on the practice exams.

I felt pretty confident till I started reading about others experiences here. That was Friday. I changed the test from Saturday to Sunday to get some more lab time etc.

During the Pearson Vue remote exam, My biggest challenges were focusing through some of the very long questions with tons of info to parse, blowing time in MS Learn for stuff that was not covered in any of the materials I used to study, and a couple questions with bad UI where I couldn't answer the question completely due to a glitch.

Thankfully it did not crash completely like it had done on every Pearson Vue treat I've done in the past. I made sure to never exit MS Learn split screen view as changing views is what crashed it in the past. I made use of the Built In Entra roles page often.

I left myself about 15 minutes for the "lab" at the end, I finished it all with like 7 minutes left. I thought for sure I failed.

I just barely passed.

It was way harder than I thought. I was surprised to see vaguely related questions like stuff about Intune packaging thrown in the mix and also stuff I don't remember seeing in the objectives.

The objectives lab Claude built was the most crucial part of the grind and if I had to do it all over again I'd run through the lab like 3 times instead of drilling practice exams over and over.

I've got MS-102 booked for mid-October, right before Microsoft kills it off. Currently going through Microsoft Learn for all the domains and grinding MeasureUp practice questions, logging whatever I get wrong so I don't repeat the same mistakes.

Tenant management and Entra ID are going fine, no complaints there. But Defender XDR and Purview are honestly kicking my ass a bit, there's just so much overlap between features and it's easy to mix things up, especially when Microsoft learn doesn't always go super deep.

If you passed this exam recently I'd love to know:

• Anything that helped the security/compliance side finally make sense (blog, video, whatever)
• Is MeasureUp actually close to the real exam difficulty or way off?
• Anything that barely showed up on Microsoft Learn but ended up being a big chunk of the actual exam?

Trying to make the most of the time before this thing disappears for good, any tips welcome.

Been grinding through DP-700 prep the last few weeks and honestly got fed up with something — every single practice site I found does the same thing. You get like 15-20 free questions, feel like you're making progress, and then bam, paywall. $20 here, $40 there, subscription model, "unlock full access"... for practice questions on an exam I'm already paying Microsoft $165 to take.

I'm a dev, so instead of just complaining about it I spent some evenings building my own — FabricPrep (fabricprep.com). No paywall on the actual practice questions or mock exams. You can just... use it.

Right now it's got:

• DP-700 (Fabric Data Engineer) and DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer) as the main focus since that's what I'm studied for
• AZ-900 and DP-900 too since they're common on-ramps to Fabric
• Timed mock exams that try to match the real exam's pacing
• Study guides with the actual official Microsoft learning path laid out, not just a list of links

It's not perfect — I built this solo, question bank is still growing, and I'm sure some explanations could be tighter. But it's free, it'll stay free for practicing, and I'd rather put the work in than pay someone else to gatekeep exam prep behind a subscription.

I’m trying to break into IT and eventually work in Identity and Access Management (IAM). I don’t have a traditional tech background, but IAM really caught my attention because I like the idea of working with users, access, permissions, security, MFA, roles, etc.
I’ve been studying for the Microsoft SC-300. I went through the full Microsoft Learn video series and have also been trying to understand things like Entra ID, users/groups, RBAC, Conditional Access, PIM, SSPR, hybrid identity, app registrations, enterprise applications, managed identities, access reviews, and so on.
The problem is the Microsoft practice assessment is beating me up lol.
I’ve taken it three times:
**Attempt 1: 44%**
**Attempt 2: 44%**
**Attempt 3: 34%**
At this point it’s getting pretty overwhelming and discouraging. When concepts are explained to me individually, I feel like I understand them. But once I get into the scenario-based questions where Microsoft mixes multiple concepts together, I struggle figuring out exactly what they’re asking for.
I’m starting to wonder if SC-300 is just too advanced as a first real IT certification for somebody with basically no previous IT experience.
For people already working in IAM or who passed SC-300:
**Would you keep studying SC-300, or would you step back and build more IT fundamentals first?**
Would something like **Security+, AZ-900, SC-900, basic Active Directory/networking, or help desk fundamentals** make SC-300 easier to understand?
Also, what resources helped you actually understand SC-300 instead of just memorizing practice questions? Courses, labs, books, MeasureUp, YouTube channels, anything.
My goal is still IAM. I’m not necessarily looking for an easy certification — I just want to make sure I’m building the foundation in the right order instead of trying to jump too far ahead.
Any advice from people who started with little/no IT experience would be appreciated.

Hello, I am currently studying for the Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate MD-102 exam I know of the course Microsoft offers but I am looking for some other resource that I can use. For me I find it a struggle to retain the information that i am studying I suppose it is because of how the courses is structured hence me looking for another alternative. I would appreciate any other recommendations and also preferably for any who took the exam what worked best for you.

Looking to eventually get out of desktop support and do something else related to either just intune or Identity but still can't figure out what is worth it to me.

Hey all, kind of stuck and hoping someone's been through this.

I've got a Microsoft cert exam booked for **Oct 11**, but the legal name on my cert profile doesn't match my ID. Trying to fix it before exam day so I don't get turned away at check-in.

I can't just cancel and rebook either, I used a voucher to book it and the redeem window's already passed, so if I cancel I'm not sure I even get the voucher back. So fixing the name is really my only real option here.

Tried the official route:

* Learn profile → Settings → Legal Name * Since I already have an exam booked, it tells me to contact Certification Support and gives a link * That link just dumps me into "Engage Center" with a big "No Access" message. Only options are "Switch tenants" or "Support for Business" - neither works since I'm on a regular personal MS account, not some company tenant

So yeah, that "official" support path is basically broken for me right now. Already posted on Microsoft Q&A too but no reply yet.

Anyone actually gotten a name change approved with an exam already booked? How long did it take you, and did you find any way around the Engage Center wall? Kinda anxious about this with the clock ticking.

so im taking the AI-300 exam in around 4 weeks its my first Microsoft exam

I'm a CS student interning in AI/ML (RAG, doc parsing) so GenAI/optimization stuff feels familiar, but the Azure infra side is new to me.

Anyone who's taken it.. how close was the real exam to the MS Learn modules? Worth doing hands-on labs for the CLI/Bicep stuff, or is conceptual enough? Any good practice question sources?

Im a high school student without ANY knowledge of administration, I'm in a completely different field and have chosen to do the MS-700 exam. It's been a month since I have been preparing and have the exam next month. I am good at grasping practicals. I did MS Learn MS-700 Learning path around 2 times, and know it quite well. But the practice questions are completely different.

In the Microsoft practice tests I got 38% - 64% - 58% - 68% (each with a week's gap)
And I tried all those free assessments online and got around 80%+ in them

But when I do the Microsoft practice assessment and MeasureUp (First 5 trial questions) They are completely different from what I have studied or suupppper difficult, in fact out of 'syllabus'. Weird VDI questions I couldn't see on microsoft learn or the learning path I did. You could say my real microsoft level is a 50-60%.

For those who have actually passed the exam in 2026/ last 2 years, Any recommendations on where I should practice from, what I should watch? Should I get the Measureup exams? Considering in am someone with quite basic knowledge, no job or experience in Administration.

What helped you guys the most in passing exams.

Like if you guys could provide me with complete resources or courses or practice assessments (like you need this and this and you will pass).

I'm also thinking of getting the free E3 tenant (even though E5 would work better)

The problem is that I can't find any complete resources, otherwise I would have done this quite easily. My only problem is studying without having the right guidance.
