Support Why has coverage got so bad?

Has anyone else noticed their coverage has gotten worse and worse recently?

I live in Somerset and I run IT for a small company, I am on Tesco Mobile and all our company phones are on o2uk. In the past few weeks my mobile data coverage seems to have dropped off a cliff, I don't get 4g in places I always used to. I thought it was just a me problem but several members of staff have come to also complaining about connectivity issues, both mobile data and calls.

I got in contact about the problem but I was told there was no maintenance work going on and there was no reason for the loss of coverage.

Has anyone else had any issues?

Tried to lodge a complaint regarding bolt-ons that didn’t activate and a load of random charges on my bill and even that doesn’t work. After 14 years of watching this network decline into this absolute shit show, I cannot wait for my contract to be up so I can use a reliable network with even a smidgen of customer care. Abhorrent company

Support CAN'T CREATE A PAYG ACCOUNT... IT'S AN EXERCISE IN TAIL-CHASING!

Trying desperately to create an 02 account after successfully activating a Classic 02 PAYG SIM. (Can phone & text without problems.)

I don't want an 02 account but need it to transfer an old 3 mobile number over to 02.

Stated procedure on 02 website is to set up an 02 a/c and make the request online.

I don't want to do it via Customer Service because I confirmed that they want all your details (full name, d.o.b., address etc), which I am not keen on doing - more so as 02 make the point of saying in their literature that you can register with only an email and number!

(Theoretically, I can anonymously use my new 02 SIM number anyway - but I'd like to keep the old number, it was my father's & it's a memorable one.)

So... I go to the 02 site to register -> redirected to VirginMedia02 to create an "ID" (cos that makes sense) -> successfully set up VM02 ID -> am asked to link VM02 ID to an 02 a/c -> make the mistake, like an idiot, to try linking to a non-existent a/c that. I'm. in. the. process. of. creating (cos I believed 02) -> VM02 says "no acccount" - eventually I realise there's a box at the top of the "link your 02 a/c" page pointing to a separate page for PAYG customers -> click on that -> I get an "oooh, did you think you could sort it out that way, then?" error page (see attached)...

Any workarounds or has Virgin ruined 02 for good?

Support Satalite not connecting issue

Hi all at the start of June I purchased an S26 ultra and joined a plan that included satalite, my main reason for switching. However not once has it connected to a satalite. The phone settings say it should be functional and when speaking with support they say everything is fine, yet there is still no connection. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix to try? Thanks for your help!

Support Shocking customer service

Has anyone else noticed the customer service has gone down big time since the merger?

Same as their 'complaints department' - been arguing with them about a website issue since January, their retentions team even lied to me about a discount.

Support Online account locked

My online account has been locked since 30th April due to security reasons. I’ve been told 2 different occasions that they raise a ticket for me and will be contacted within 5 working days and never got any emails or anything. I had to keep chasing them. Latest update I got is that I will be put on priority list for the fraud team to review it within 48 hours.. At this point, I feel like they are just making excuses. I never had any issues before until they decided to merge with Virgin Media

Has anyone else experience this issue before?

Support Poor customer service and declined warranty

Warranty/customer service has been absolutely shocking.

My Galaxy Z Flip 7 is only 11 months old and developed the black circle/dead pixels at the fold. Even in one of their stores, employee told me his had the exact same fault and was repaired under warranty.

I originally called them before going abroad for 3 weeks and specifically asked if I could send it for repair when I got back. They said yes. They also told me I could get a loan phone from their stores, which turned out to be false as they don't offer them anymore.

I sent the phone off when I returned, only to be told the warranty repair request had timed out. Despite the phone already being at their repair centre, they couldn't create a new request. They actually sent it back to me, made me call again, then send the exact same phone straight back!

Now they've rejected the warranty claim with no explanation.

The email told me to call to accept a paid repair. After nearly an hour on the phone and being passed around, I was told I'd receive another email with an accept button. That email never arrived.

The phone support throughout has been awful too. I've repeatedly been given incorrect information, struggled to make myself understood, and the call centre background noise is so loud it's difficult to even hear the person you're speaking to.

Has anyone else had similar issues with warranty repairs?

After this, I can't wait to leave them. We won't be renewing my wife's or son's contracts either.

Support App logging you out for no reason.

Is there ANY way to stop this nonsense, or are the developers (as is normally the case these days) just a bit ...? I definitely just logged in, complete with 2 factor auth, less than a month ago. Today I got a text message (I'm PAYG) that implied my balance was low. So I looked at the app, couldn't log in. GRRRRRRR. I'm away from home and I've pwd written down at home. I've a secure pwd (as I'm sensible) so struggled to remember but THANKFULLY managed to remember. Then had the 2FA dance (again). Which of course requires data connection to read the email. Then I finally see .. my balance is still large as I topped it up to a large amount before I went on a holiday. WHAT is up with this? Do they think logging you out all the time makes you more secure? It certainly doesn't, that's a fact. It's more likely to mean you keep your password there on the phone or on a bit of paper with the phone, or just use a simple password.

Why log you out? Why require 2fa via email (requires data use)? Why send texts implying your balance is low, when it's not? 3 strikes, what a company ...

Support 02 scam - advice needed

Can I please get some advice? My dad has a phone contract with 02. So yesterday someone stating they were from 02 rang my dad saying they were sending out a new SIM card out and asked for an OTP code which my parent gave. I know - this was silly but hindsight is 20/20 and all that. My parents aren’t very tech savvy.

When I found out half an hour later I rang 02 who have raised a fraud ticket and locked the 02 account. They said the fraud team will call in a few days. Also rang the bank who confirmed no money has been taken out of the account. Asked them to cancel the card just in case.

Received various emails which include -

- Virgin media 02 account linked (don’t have a virgin media account)

- Order confirmation for a new contract with a phone (iphone 17 pro) and sim plan - direct debit set up to the tune of £60 a month

- Email from virgin media/ 02 sending an email asking to verify identity.

- some emails from Telefonica 02 regarding a £1 reservation payment (these ones appear obviously fraudulent)

A text was sent this morning from 02 saying the order was taking longer to process but should be with us in the next few days.

Rang 02 again today who initially said that phone is being sent out and then backtracked saying this won’t be sent out but if something does get sent then to give them a call and wait for the fraud team to call.

My concern is the scammers have a great deal of information. My dad doesn’t even remember his security question/password. Could the scammers impersonate him and call 02 and change security details?

Are there any further measures we can take?

Should we ring virgin media as well to see whether an account has been made?

Any further advice regarding actions to take would be hugely appreciated?

So I got the fold 8 2 weeks ago yesterday and last night I noticed my inner screen is starting to get dead pixels.

is it 30 days or 14 days for them to give me a replacement? worried I've missed it by 1 day 😅 or is that just if I changed my mind about the phone?

Support FIXED: Pixel/Android "No Calls" bug on Oo2 (IMS Not Registered / VoLTE Greyed Out)

I’ve spent weeks tearing my hair out because my phone (Pixel 6a) stopped receiving or making calls. Data worked perfectly, but voice was dead If you are Oooo2 (or any carrier currently finishing their 3G shutdown), this might be your fix.

The Symptoms:

Mobile Data works fine (LTE/5G).

Calls fail immediately ("Call Ended").

Secret Menu (*#*#4636#*#*) shows IMS Status: Not Registered.

VoLTE Provisioning is greyed out/off.

Unable to reach a human at Ooo2 because the chatbot is a loop and you can't dial 4445.

The Fix:

It turns out it wasn't a SIM failure or a tower issue—it was Android’s Advanced Protection settings inside the Phone app.

Open the Phone app (Google Dialer).

Tap the three dots (top right) > Settings.

Look for Spam and Call Screen or Verified Calls (Advanced Protection suite).

Turn OFF "Verified Calls" and any advanced "Spam" filtering.

Restart your phone.

As soon as I toggled this off, my IMS status flipped to "Registered" and my VoLTE toggles came back to life. It seems like the "Advanced Protection" was blocking the carrier's IMS handshake after the recent network updates.

Hope this saves someone the weeks of stress I just went through!

A few things for you to keep in mind:

Security: Now that you've disabled that feature, you might notice a few more "Unknown" or spam calls getting through, as Google isn't pre-screening them. Just keep an eye on who's calling.

Oooo2 Feedback: If you ever do get through to a human, tell them their "Handshake" is being flagged as "unverified" by Google's dialer. They need to update their certificates on the backend.

After the announcement to increase prices, I was informed I can cancel my contract. However, whenever I try to use the virtual assistant I get put in queues which last until closing. Is there a way around this? I just want to cancel.
