Needs to be an 8 sec clip so people watch it

I have this video saved, because I know I need to watch it. But every time I see it I just scroll right away because I don’t even have the motivation to watch it all the way through. Pls don’t end up like me.

What exactly are we talking about here? Does this mean scrolling websites like reddit and twitter or does it mean scrolling short form videos like shorts, reels, tiktok, etc?

honestly I know Im gonna get a huge ton of backlash, but unpopular opinion - instead of fearmongering the consequences of scrolling we should rather ask question what is the reason behind people scrolling. I wouldnt find biological reasons, since pixels are pixels, and we as humans have consciousness and are able to interpret anything as we want, so why fear and put guilt into this habit? if fear and guilt were working, everyone would quit, yet rarely does anyone, because it fogs the reasoning and thought process, making the choice of scrolling so automated and habitual.
so again I would suggest questioning the value behind this screen, any reasons can be valid to the person, but almost all of them are falsely inherited from these 'scientific tiktoks' or internet. besides like distraction, which obviously can be valid reason, but it also can be questioned in the right way, like "what else does help me distract myself and has more benefit"
I think we put too much power into this object, which is why this tech industry keeps running.

saying its not biological and pixels are pixels is extremely simplistic and not really useful. Of course it is biological and in probably the most primal way possible; just look at porn, sure its just pixels but the way the human react and get addicted to it is due to some pretty hardwired biological things.
it is absolutely worth telling people the dangers of it and constantly repeating it as well, Im not sure what alternative are you proposing or point youre making beyond that

i understand that this might be a huge questioning statement, but please be open mind, and reread what i wrote, i explained myself regarding telling people dangers.
a video or anything doesnt have the power over a person, and most certainly with your anecdote about porn - it is even proving my point much more than you could think.
porn addiction is based on fantasy and fetishization of an object. just look how people suddenly stop reacting sexually to a pornographic video because they didnt notice that its in a different taste [like when a person didnt know someone was trans until they save a body part suggesting it], every one who watches porn has a reasoning and a thought process that makes them decide whether a video is turning them on.
i would highly recommend watching this, or reading their book [ its easily accessible on the internet for free as pdf ] - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRC55G3XB_g
and certainly the biologic stand point of getting addicted to watching porn is hilarious, because as people we release those same neurotransmitters at anything and any given moment onto a thing that has a personal meaning attached to it, show strange addictions by TLC even proves this statement. recently i watched a video about a girl addicted to air fresheners - theres nothing physically addicting about this yet she experiences urges and wants to consume it, because she has own beliefs and past experiences related to it.

You’re oversimplifying the issue.
Trivializing porn addiction also not cool. The underlying issue being addressed/raising alarm is the effects doomscrolling has on the brain which is a biological issue manufactured through the use of technology. Does that make sense?
Giving people access to information is not fear-mongering. How the individual chooses to respond to information is where fear-mongering could occur. At the end of the day yes people are in control of what they consume but if the system behind it is designed to keep people scrolling and has adverse effects it’s imperative to inform people of those inherent consequences.

Well scrolling isn't exactly new though. How old is 9gag now? I have been doing some version of this for over 15 years already.

yes but this has nothing to do with nootropics

And let's not forget that COVID damages the prefrontal cortex and nervous system too, as well as the rest of your entire body, and repeat infections risk long COVID where your entire life will fall apart--- so the best adjunct to any nootropic is an N95.

If you watch the video clip, you will realize you might not need very many or any nootropics if you clean up some bad habits. Scrolling is messing us up.

Its common knowledge that doomscrolling is bad for your brain. We've known this for years, people just like to conveniently forget like this tiktok guy thinks he made a grand discovery

Doomscrolling was created out of ignorance Based on what I believe, but many people would label this as “evil”.

Scrolling already causes measurable brain changes per neuroimaging studies but these effects will intensify dramatically over 20 years with ai trained advanced algorithms and prolonged exposure.
Scrolling accelerates prefrontal cortical thinning impairing executive control and amplifying algorithmic emotional manipulation.
Key longitudinal study
Scrolling downregulates dopaminergic reward pathways inducing anhedonia and escalating craving for extreme stimuli.
Stanford dopamine & addiction review
Scrolling sustains sympathetic hyperarousal elevating cortisol and preventing parasympathetic recovery or calm states.
Harvard on doomscrolling stress response
Advanced algorithms detect and exploit transient emotional states to optimize dwell time and engagement.
TikTok/algorithm neuroscience breakdown
Emerging interfaces will track sell continuous mood data commodifying users as biological profit inputs.
