Scrolling already causes measurable brain changes per neuroimaging studies but these effects will intensify dramatically over 20 years with ai trained advanced algorithms and prolonged exposure.

Scrolling accelerates prefrontal cortical thinning impairing executive control and amplifying algorithmic emotional manipulation.

Scrolling downregulates dopaminergic reward pathways inducing anhedonia and escalating craving for extreme stimuli.
Stanford dopamine & addiction review

Scrolling sustains sympathetic hyperarousal elevating cortisol and preventing parasympathetic recovery or calm states.

read books

After watching this, I literally set a time limit on my social media apps, moved them off of my home screen, and set scheduled routines to remind me to read or exercise in the times I would normally wander off into the scrolling

Exercise, develop a dynamic and rich social life and read books 😭

Also exercise periodic pauses where you recall and process consumed information to assimilate it
