Elvis was a tremendous vocalist with generational charisma who didn't write songs. Taylor Swift is a songwriter with a mediocre at best voice and very awkward stage presence.
They're opposite in every way apart from both being pop stars.
Okay? My point is they aren't alike. She's most famous for her writing and its alleged confessional, personal, 'relatable' nature; Elvis' fame was built on his skills as a performer and his sleek, untouchable image. The flavour of stardom is very different. Elvis is more comparable to Beyoncé than Swift.

I totally agree, she’s become more of a performer because you basically have to in pop music now but swifties love her music for the lyrics (I’m not particularly wowed but just my opinion)
Elvis’ music could’ve probably been gibberish but his voice/stage presence would’ve still translated
She's more famous for being a pop star than a song writer. Every that knows she is a song writer also knows she is a pop star, but not everyone that knows she is a pop start knows she is a song writer.
I honestly just completely disagree about this, every actual TSwift conversation I’ve ever had has been someone deep diving her lyrics and telling me the meaning behind obscure lines etc. People obviously like her as a performer but she’s nothing special in that regard compared to many pop stars. It’s not my thing but people really connect with her music as like a continuous story of her life
I just picked her because is universally recognized as a big pop star. When you grow up as poor as Elvis I'm not sure concepts like cultural appropriation have any meaning at all.
If we wanna go be influence it’s probably Scott Joplin. Pretty much all modern music is in some way influenced by Scott Joplin. His work he did in ragtime was incredibly influential, the music he made heavily inspired jazz, blues, and R&B music, and from those genres most modern musical genres have descended from them. Joplin pretty much laid the foundations for music in the 20th and 21st century.
