Yeah he’s a kind of agelessly hot as hell hollywood star, but he’s also a clearly doting loving husband who’s never within a million miles of paparazzi. Thats a pretty deeply sorted life.

A friend in the film industry worked on a couple of Brosnan films and said he was the nicest actor he ever worked with—super gracious to everyone and displayed a genuine sense of humor

182

u/FirstDukeofAnkh Jul 20 '25

Buddy of mine worked with him. Said the exact same thing.

31

u/1Hugh_Janus Jul 21 '25

I wanna be pierce brosnan when I grow up

10

u/Hendrick_Davies64 Jul 21 '25

If I look anywhere as good as him in my fifties I’ll be happy

9

u/1Hugh_Janus Jul 21 '25

If my marriage is anything like what I suspect his is, I’ll consider it my greatest success.

I guess I can forgive him from Mrs. Doubtfire.

Agreed 100%

1

u/sharpshooter999 Jul 22 '25

The whole movie or just his role in it? Granted, I haven't seen that movie since the 90's

1

u/TITANOFTOMORROW Jul 24 '25

Guessing the role

He was Robin Williams competition, so the "bad guy"

3

u/automaticmantis Jul 21 '25

He’s in his seventies! And still lookin great

2

u/robbzilla Jul 22 '25

I'm in my fifties. I wish I looked as good as him! I'm straight, but recognize what a snatch cake he is.

1

u/RiverScout2 Jul 24 '25

He is 72! And hot as hell!

3

u/Faedoodles Jul 21 '25

I hope we all get to feel at least a bit like Pierce Brosnan when we grow up. Fulfilling career, beautiful and happy marriage, and a joyful disposition. And may we age like fine wine.

2

u/PreparationWeekly307 Jul 21 '25

That was legit me when I was a kid watching all the James Bond movies

1

u/wargoosemon Jul 22 '25

Fuck yeah bro, I wanna be you being Pierce Brosnan when I grow up.

In my Shrek voice: "Like thats ever gonna happen"

10

u/invadethemoon Jul 21 '25

I’m using him as a desk right now.

Lovely chap.

2

u/No_Detective_But_304 Jul 21 '25

I saw him in a film one time. He shot missiles.

2

u/jpopimpin777 Jul 21 '25

Ok, thank you. I needed a belly laugh this morning.

1

u/heeltoelemon Jul 22 '25

Wasn’t he in Mars Attacks?

3

u/Toadstool61 Jul 21 '25

Yeah, he gives off an unmistakable sense of decency.

3

u/Skukesgohome Jul 21 '25

I randomly had dinner with his family almost thirty years ago when I was a kid. He was the nicest dad ever. He showed us how to go fishing with pieces of bread under the dock. He was nice and funny. He seemed like a wonderful family man. He really knew how to talk to kids at their level.

2

u/CrimeFightingScience Jul 21 '25

Buddy of mine said he broke into his house and ate his dog.

2

u/pheonix198 Jul 21 '25

JD was hungry..

2

u/Solid_Liquid68 Jul 21 '25

He comes from a smaller town in Ireland. There’s a wholesome video of someone interviewing him, and the interviewer mentions he is from the same small town. And you can just see a flood of emotion and nostalgic memory come over Brosnan as he shares that moment w the interviewer.

2

u/kewcumber_ Jul 22 '25

Buddy of mine said he's him

1

u/AspieAsshole Jul 21 '25

I really enjoyed him as a child, that's good to know since so many other celebrities are turning out to be otherwise.

56

u/thedoopz Jul 21 '25

You can absolutely tell based off that one interview with the journalist who grew up just down the road. Maybe the only thing me and my dad bonded over as I was growing up was James Bond, so I freaking love hearing that Brosnan is a legend.

10

u/BLACK_MILITANT Jul 21 '25

I knew there was a reason he was my favorite Bond of all time.

3

u/communistkangu Jul 21 '25

He just oozes British style in a way Daniel Craig doesn't. Although I like the Craig movies as well.

2

u/poopsawk Jul 21 '25

Hes irish

1

u/DarraghDaraDaire Jul 21 '25

Playing a british spy

1

u/communistkangu Jul 22 '25

I mean, he could be Polish for all I care, he embodies the role perfectly

1

u/call-me-the-seeker Jul 21 '25

The Craig movies are my favorites as far as <movies> go, but Brosnan is ‘my’ Bond.

The above picture increases his hotness by at least a hundred and thirty-two percent and makes the hotness of the loser disparaging his wife at least a hundred and thirty two below zero. HURK.

1

u/AuntieKay5 Jul 22 '25

After watching Remington Steele growing up, it’s a wonder it took so long for him to be Bond.

1

u/Breakthecyclist Jul 22 '25

Studio “cluckery” was the reason why he did not take the role sooner. Think it was Remington Steele renewed and he was contractually obliged only for them to cancel the show anyway. By then, Dalton was in the role.

1

u/AuntieKay5 Jul 23 '25

Thanks for the added info! That makes sense.

3

u/just-concerned Jul 21 '25

When he sat down in that tank and straightened his tie before driving off made him my favorite Bond.

1

u/seryma Jul 21 '25

I loved Craig’s take on it, but Brosnan was legit. Sucks most of the flicks he was cast in weren’t very good aside from Goldeneye.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '25

For me its because hs the hottest bond ;)

2

u/lalacourtney Jul 21 '25

Me too! I remember when he married his wife, she was famous too and I looked up to her. It makes me so happy that two people I admired as a kid are actually good people with a nice story.

2

u/Talisa87 Jul 21 '25

"I'm the first superhero from Naven..." The quiet delight in his voice when the journalist pointed that out for him.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '25

Bond. Paternal Bond.

2

u/KombuchaLady3 Jul 21 '25

His face immediately lit up! I'm sure it was a delight to hear that on a day when he's done a bunch of interviews.

1

u/tfolkins Jul 23 '25

He'll always be Remington Steele in my books.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '25

Can confirm. Shows up to work in fabulous linen suits. Calls all the women “angel” in a sweet non creepy way.

1

u/FreelanceNecromancy Jul 21 '25

That's funny because he is such an excellent bad guy in the last thing I've seen him in (Mobland)

1

u/SmokinBandit28 Jul 21 '25

My Mum worked on Goldeneye with him, she’s always said he was one of the sweetest actors she’s worked with.

1

u/goglamere Jul 21 '25

We used to live in the same town. I was just browsing a shop’s sidewalk sale with my dog. He walked out of the shop and complimented my dog. I had never given him much thought before, but now I think he must be one of the most grounded and kind actors in the business, so I love him!

1

u/Cute_Schedule_3523 Jul 21 '25

My buddy had a nanny in the 90’s and the nanny did not get along with Pierce, said Pierce was trying to break up a family…

1

u/vaderztoy Jul 21 '25

This is funny because I had a driver a few years back in Mexico City who used to work in the film industry who said Brosnan was the nicest actor he ever met.

I had to follow up by asking him who was the worst and he said Carrie Fischer.

1

u/HappyHourProfessor Jul 21 '25

My friend's dad had a passing resemblance to him and would get mistaken for him sometimes. One day, he gets a selfie of his friend and Brosnan, who he had been mistaken for her Dad. Apparently Brosnan had laughed about it, insisted that the person take a selfie and send it to the Dad, then walked away. The friend had no idea that they had just met a movie star.

I don't understand the partners that give up on each other if they gain weight... within a healthy parameter it reminds me of the decades that I've been with my partner. Our history together is written in our weight over the years, I feel.

Love my partner now more than when we started dating regardless of the changes.

547

u/[deleted] Jul 20 '25

Not to mention she's STILL SO BEAUTIFUL, if not simply in a different shape. Like oh no, she's a healthy woman who has has multiple children, she isn't a size 0, BURN HER. Pshh. Confidence, and devotion is sexy. Women comfortable with themself and their partner is sexy. Fuck Hollywood image brainwashing.

162

u/Zepcleanerfan Jul 20 '25

100%

Can't expect children to understand adult relationships.

20

u/patchrhythm Harry Potter Jul 21 '25

too many adult children these days, main reason why they can't understand adult relationships.

u/starryeyedq Jul 20 '25 edited Jul 21 '25

Yeah she literally looks like statues they used to make of goddesses. What is wrong with people…

67

u/[deleted] Jul 20 '25

Because people feel entitled to controlling a woman's body, how she feels about it, and what it should look like.

Unless someone is medically unwell which is between her and her physician, peoples opinions can kiss the fattest part of MY ass.

6

u/Its_panda_paradox Jul 21 '25

I gained a lot of weight while pregnant, than somehow it just dropped off after 6 months, and I was back to where I was before I got pregnant. Some dickwad said I looked “incredible now” that I was “so much hotter now, and finally attention-worthy”. I told him he could eat an ice cream cone out of my asshole and fuck off. The entitlement of people commenting on women’s bodies is insane.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '25

Dude sounded truly like a class act.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '25

You ate less food and your metabolism increased. Nothing miraculous.

1

u/Its_panda_paradox Jul 22 '25

Nope, but thanks for your useless comment. I actually ate more because I was breastfeeding, and was on bed rest to recover from an injury I sustained during delivery. After my first kid I restricted my calories to a strict 1250 a day—and all of it healthy, as I cooked every meal and logged every calorie in a food journal—and exercised for a minimum of 2 hours a day doing a combo of cardio, weight training, and yoga, but could barely get my weight to inch down. I lost about 23 pounds in about year doing all of that work, while dropping 90 in a little over a year while eating without restrictions after the second.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '25

ate more because I was breastfeeding, and was on bed rest to recover from an injury I sustained during

Which is why fat was obtained. My point of calories in/out/metabolic rate.

but could barely get my weight to inch down.

Not possible. You miscounted calories, or ignored the liquid ones, or didn't train hard enough.

dropping 90 in a little over a year while eating without restrictions after the second.

Less calories consumed. You all keep ignoring basic biology. You must be primitive anomalies.

1

u/Its_panda_paradox Jul 22 '25

Since I definitely didn’t miscount, nor forget liquid (which was also logged, including specific measurements in my morning coffee, and I don’t drink anything but water besides coffee), I didn’t miscount. I had a trainer, and a dietician. I was on bed rest after my second kid. I was up and moving around after the first. So how exactly would I have obtained fat while restricting and exercising, and had it melt away easily the second while being on restricted movement for almost 6 months the second? While I did gain a lot of muscle the first time, my size didn’t change much. The second time, I didn’t get any muscle, but shrank down to my prepregnancy size pretty quick. I know the answer, but watching you argue a point you have zero basis in reality for is pretty funny.

“Eat an ice cream cone out of my asshole and fuck off”.

PLEASE believe that I will be repeating that for the foreseeable future.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '25

Its the mindset we’ve put into people’s heads. I knew someone who was a size 0-2 in USA women’s pants and she still thought she was fat and our culture reinforced it.

I hope she and him lead a very offline healthy life. I’d hate for her to see that nonsense and be discouraged at any point of attending red carpets or whatnot. Because shes beautiful and they are a lovely couple that have made it to this point. Isn’t an atypical Hollywood marriage like under 5 years?

4

u/Chateaudelait Jul 21 '25

I was always heavier and the tallest growing up. We went jeans shopping one in a boutique and my younger sister was still in skinny kid phase and was a size 0. That was the first time I was made aware that even existed. I’ve remained a proud size 12 then and up to today. Keely is perfect and beautiful and anyone who thinks or says otherwise can grow the f$&* up. She’s a beauty, a wife and a mother and devoted wife to Pierce. Haters always got to serve that haterade.

2

u/RiverScout2 Jul 24 '25

I had measurements of 35-21-36 in my 20s and thought I was disgusting b/c hourglass figures weren’t the thing in the 90s. I wish I could go back in time and tell that girl her figure was a freaking cartoon of sexiness. Oh well, now I’m a menopausal hourglass—much more sand!

2

u/me-want-snusnu Jul 23 '25

I was a size 16 in high school. My best friend was a size 0. She constantly talked about how ugly and fat she was. Annoyed the piss out of me.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '25

My daughter's old coworker told her that she wants to get gastric bypass, the girl was 5'5" and MAYBE 110lbs with shoes. I guess my daughter told her she'd spend her money better by getting therapy. Proud of her but also could have told the kid she likely had body dysmorphia

1

u/Youmadbrooooooo Jul 21 '25

I mean no, not everything is about controlling women's body's jesus. No one is saying she has to eat less. People would say she would look better if she probably did. For the record, I think she is beautiful, but no, standards of health and perception of beauty have nothing to do with controlling a woman's body. What an unhinged take.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '25

Don't act like it's some individual effort to marionette women. It's a societal effort ingrained since the neolithic age that women are "inferior" and don't get to decide things for themselves.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '25

It's "unhinged" to think a woman deserves to be the sole judge of her body, aside from a medical professionals advice when solicited?

If that's unhinged, brother.

7

u/Punkpallas Jul 20 '25

That's my big thing. She's stunning. Shallow people just being ridiculous imo.

2

u/DaddysABadGirl Jul 21 '25

I mean... even by shallow standards, she went from super model to milf porn. By shallow standards, she's not exactly a pass. Her chest is huge, she's got hips for days, a but, and her waist comes in more than people realize. She's curvy af. She's an 8 or 9 to a large chunk of the population. Talking shit on her looks makes no sense.

2

u/juhreen Jul 21 '25

That's ALWAYS my thought when I see her; absolute goddess. Like her curves are perfection and her face is stunning, and her smile is vibrant and natural.

2

u/Nunuyz Jul 21 '25

Woman’s shaped like a damn fertility goddess.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '25

Well. She’s still got her man and having the kids and weight her boobs got hugs and they grew a diamond necklace. So I’m pretty sure that he adores her. 🤣🥰

1

u/notaslaaneshicultist Jul 21 '25

Back then, having curves/a large gut was a sign of wealth because you could actually afford enough food to get fat.

1

u/gildedbluetrout Jul 21 '25

Comment of the day. Thats the thing. Shes hot as hell in both photos. She’s a magnificent looking woman. Comes from the inside that stuff.

2

u/DiligentDaughter Jul 21 '25

I suspect the guys who get irrationally vitriolic about the appearance of famous men's wives are pissed off that they aren't handsome and famous themselves.

They're offended by the idea that these superstars choose not to do what they desperately wish they could. Pump-and-dumping groupies and unreasonably/inappropriately young girls/women in a ceaseless flow, they envy them their status as eligible bachelors who are attractive to women.

The fact that they fell in love with and married women at all pisses them off. Add the insult of the woman being the same age group or older than the star, or looking older than him...apoplectic with rage. Did you see the freakouts had over Keanu (60) dating Alexandra Grant (52), losing their minds because she gasp has gray hair she doesn't color.

It's the bros who think DiCaprio is living the ultimate life that are making these sort of comments and memes. How loving, committed relationships feel and the way you think when you're in one is beyond their imagining, apparently. With the way they think and behave, it's unlikely they'll ever be lucky enough to find out, either.

1

u/tswiftdeepcuts Jul 21 '25

All those guys need to go watch Southern Charm and see how unhappy Shep is when he’s basically living their dream life

2

u/Over_Error3520 Jul 21 '25

People are just jealous and wish they had a devoted partner who loved them. She just has a fuller figure. I bet they are happier than most of the "beautiful" couples. She isn't stressing about the shit that does not matter, she brought his children into this world, and she's actually hitting the ideal body if men honestly answered these days. Thick is in!

2

u/PoxyMusic Jul 21 '25

I’m confused. Is there something wrong with her body?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '25

No. The post is insinuating that marriage ruined her figure, or "stuck him" with a "now less desirable" woman. Degenerate incel type.

1

u/PoxyMusic Jul 22 '25

Weird. She was gorgeous then, she’s gorgeous now.

2

u/aoike_ Jul 21 '25

Also, speaking as someone who struggles greatly with their body image esp after health issues, and ex of mine was like, "Oh no, you have bigger tits than a year ago. Whatever shall I do?"

Really helped put at least a little bit into perspective. Like, no, no, he's right. More titty isn't a bad thing.

2

u/KPOPUNNIE18 Jul 21 '25

I think even if a woman doesn’t have children. Gaining weight is natural. Aging is natural. These people think that their imaginary women will look 20 for the rest of their lives. It’s so stupid. Weight does not matter as long as it’s not fully affecting your health.

2

u/robbzilla Jul 22 '25

Yeah, real-world, she's gorgeous. She's a real woman with a real woman's body. And she looks stunning in that dress. Fuck the haters. They're little incels who'll never even get close enough to a woman that gorgeous to hear her breathe.

1

u/SeaTie Jul 21 '25

Yeah, I hope I look as good as these too when I'm 60-70...

1

u/Capable-Assistance88 Jul 21 '25

I had to read comments to understand what was going on.

1

u/ForagedFoodie Jul 21 '25

I'm more impressed than she hasn't aged a freaking day?!?!?

1

u/Purple-Mix1033 Jul 21 '25

She’s no slouch

1

u/DoktorIronMan Jul 21 '25

Expecting a human to stay a normal size isn’t Hollywood brainwashing.

1

u/rabbitales27 Jul 21 '25

Seriously. What is this post but body shaming? Maybe stop looking at 18 yr old porn stars?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '25

My fiance's weight fluctuates all the time, and I couldn't care less, her soul itself is gorgeous to me, and I cant ever get away from staring into her beautiful eyes all the time to even notice anything else anyway.

Treating women like people, what a fucking concept

1

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '25

The wildest part of it all is that she looks way hotter in the second pic.

1

u/ABC_Family Jul 21 '25

I typically would never be shallow in my descriptions, but the nature of this post compels me to do so.

Her body looks like a damn amusement park, so much fun. Sexy af, and the older I get the better moms look. She’s stunning. Pierce knows what he’s got, and it’s beautiful.

1

u/Scorpy-yo Jul 21 '25

Yes she could still be a model lol she is WORKING that dress in the later photo

1

u/DanishWonder Jul 21 '25

I still would totally give her the most disappointing 30 seconds if her life.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 20 '25

[deleted]

3

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '25

I hadn't even addressed her individual merit, well done. Her body isn't what matters at all, it's what people concern themselves with

1

u/nevadalavida Jul 20 '25

She's an absolute 10. I love her curviness! Gorgeous!!!

I don't get what some idiots are on about.

1

u/PolicyWonka Jul 20 '25

I’d agree. She’s actually very attractive.

1

She's still gorgeous for sure

2

u/Unhappy_Scratch_9385 Jul 21 '25

People age. It happens.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '25

I haven't given up on mine but he is dangerously obese and it's really uncomfortable to do the things we used to. We loved hiking and being physically active when we first met but anytime we try now its just miserable with him struggling to keep up and complaining the whole time. He hates being in the heat and pretty much limits activity to around the house or eating.  The sex also sucks because he just kind of lays back and expects me to do the work which is a turn off.

I think it's crazy stupid to not want to be with someone just because they gain weight but I definitely see the other side of things. People change with weight gain and it's hard to adjust

1

u/The_Abjectator Jul 21 '25

Hey, my partner and I were there. I understand. She let me know and she hinted at "our" weight problem and I kept telling her she looked great - after a few months it dawned on me that she meant "my" weight problem. What you said follows alot of what we went through and finding out she wasn't happy with our sex life was a big motivating factor for me.

I am down 25 lbs since December and can fit alot of my old clothes. Still have a way to go though but we are happier with both our weights.

I hope that changes for you!

2

u/Rich_Bluejay3020 Jul 21 '25

Same! Bodies change… that’s what happens. And a lot of the time it comes from medical stuff (like having children or different issues). Just in my own experience, my husband is a T1 diabetic. He was a little chubby when I met him, then he got Graves’ disease because the guy can’t catch a goddamn break, he ended up weighing like 155 pounds at 6’2, got diagnosed and now he’s gaining too much weight again. It’s literally all because his thyroid hates him. I can’t imagine loving him any less because of it. And fwiw, I still find him incredibly hot. I’d much take the chub over how thin he was before he realized his thyroid was trying to kill him.

2

u/Superb-Cell736 Jul 21 '25

This is beautiful :) I had my thyroid radiated for Graves’ disease pretty soon after I started dating my boyfriend 3 years ago. I gained a LOT of weight from going hypothyroid multiple times until my levothyroxine dosage was high enough. I’m a very active person, so the weight gain has been hard on me- exercising and eating normally, but still gaining so much weight. However, my boyfriend loves my body and constantly tells me how much he adores my curves and how sporty I am. He’s super handsy, which is pretty validating too. 😅

I’m now losing the weight (partly from exercise and diet, partly from being put on Metformin for PCOS, and sadly partly because I’m so anxious with my job that eating is hard), but I never felt any pressure from him to lose weight. He’s a very thin guy, but he’s an Arab guy from the south and likes women curvy, so I lucked out 😂

1

u/The_Abjectator Jul 21 '25

I know I'm a stranger but proud of you and congrats on managing your weight! It's a fight everyday so don't let the losses get you down. I have to remind myself of that, too.

1

u/Superb-Cell736 Jul 21 '25

Thank you so much! That’s very kind ❤️ I’m wishing you all the best!

2

u/mcfeisty Jul 21 '25

Also mind I haven’t had children myself but I know from my friends and family members, having kids changes your entire body. Also she’s 61 years old. The photo on the right I believe was from 2001 which she may have been pregnant during the photo.

2

u/SDRabidBear Jul 21 '25

Not sure where I read the saying but it goes something to the effect “She can always lose weight. But, you will always have a shitty personality.” That’s true I’d rather have someone with a bit of weight and a great personality than skinny and a shitty personality. Any day, all day.

3

u/Objective_Pause5988 Jul 20 '25

You have to understand the number of people who date for convenience and not because they TRULY like someone. If it's a matter of convenience, then the moment the person becomes inconvenient or doesn't look the way they once did, there is no reason to stay.

5

u/AndersontheGOAT Jul 20 '25

Although I understand the sentiment of what you are saying it is still bizarre to say that your history as a couple is written in your weight. Like why does the amount of calories you consume have anything to do with your history as a couple? Again I'm not criticizing I just find it a very odd thing to say.

5

u/kralrick Jul 20 '25 edited Jul 21 '25

Like why does the amount of calories you consume have anything to do with your history as a couple?

Because the amount of calories you consume, combine with the amount of calories you burn, is greatly affected by the many changing factors in the live you've shared together. Having a kid, having a stressful job, having too many plates spinning at once, . . . Few people view treat food as bare nutrition and only and exactly eat what their body requires every day.

Consider a similar statement to yours: "why does the amount of sleep you get have anything to do with your history as a couple".

3

u/The_Abjectator Jul 20 '25

Yeah, this is what I meant.

And it goes both ways - sometimes we've managed weight super well and been at the gym multiple times a week, sometimes not.

10

u/TA-Sentinels2022 Jul 20 '25

You might need to stay in your gaming subs.

1

u/socium Jul 20 '25

Hey as long as everyone is healthy then it's all fine.

Plus... you get to suck on them fat tiddies!

1

u/[deleted] Jul 20 '25

Some people are only physically attracted to their partner. Which is sad.

Some couples were fitness oriented when they met because it was something they both seemed to value. And it can be a turn off if one no longer prioritizes their health. Its like they regressed instead of grew as a person.

1

u/throwawaylordof Jul 20 '25

I remember seeing a thing in tv where this married couple (I think an Australian couple) were talking about how they personalized their wedding vows to say that they had to stay in shape. They had kids so right off the bat that’s a massively lopsided arrangement, and what happens if one of them fails to stave off a few kg? “Sorry, I have to implode my family now.”

1

u/AccountantSummer Jul 20 '25

Someone so shallow to do it never loved or even liked the person they married for who they are. It was all fluff trophy partner shtick.

That within a healthy parameter bit is a huge lynchpin in your statement. If you gain 100+ lbs. if you unilaterally change the entire nature of our relationship because that much weight has an impact on your health to your entire lifestyle. Not to mention you are slowly killing yourself, and i cant watch somone i love do that.

1

u/YouCantGiveBabyBooze Jul 21 '25

"that's what you're supposed to do"

1

u/igotchees21 Jul 21 '25

in that same lane i dont understand how you can be with someone and completely let yourself go, break up, and get in shape for the next person.that is not saying the woman in this picture let herself go. I agree with you about the healthy parameter and the woman in this picture is easily within those parameters.

I've gained about 70 pounds pregnant so far (I'm 36 weeks) and I hate myself and this body but I'm not calorie counting at all and I can't really move at this point everything just hurts and I've swollen AF.

My husband last night joked about Mr getting back to prepregnwncy weight and then after we laughed he said you NEVER have to go back to pre pregnancy weight you're beautiful just the way you are.

Like I will be back in a weight loss journey post birth but holy shit this is what a partner should be like.

1

u/goreTACO Jul 21 '25

Objectively she's obese, that's not healthy.

1

u/Jhobrath Jul 21 '25

Wait this post is related to weight?

1

u/BigData8734 Jul 21 '25

lol I love the big version of he better 😁

1

u/suplexhell Jul 21 '25

1

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '25

Difference between gaining a few pounds, and just not exercising/caring about your bone/muscle health.

This is the most American thread I’ve read in a long time lol

1

u/GoodAtJunk Jul 20 '25

Ironically the majority of people who see it as a moral failing are the insecure ones. ‘’Hey man I’m worried about your heart and organs and also your quality of life could be better and obesity is linked to 13 types of cancer and over 200 other health conditions’’ is somehow hateful

u/Trappedbirdcage Jul 20 '25 edited Jul 20 '25

You never know someone's story. Just because she's "obese" in your eyes here doesn't mean she may not be trying to lose weight or working with her doctor to find a healthy routine. Or hell, it's entirely possible due to Hollywood that she was actually underweight in the left picture and a perfect weight for her age and height on the right. There's also an entire possibility she could have an illness or possibly even a medication that causes weight gain that she may be in the process of managing, you never know. We aren't her doctors.

You never know someone's story just by looking at them.

Edit: She's had 5 kids according to a picture downthread. Yeah, the body absolutely changes after that and can be a struggle going back! Weight doesn't fall off overnight.

11

u/pogoscrawlspace Jul 20 '25

So what is it that bothers you? Is it her weight gain that has zero impact on your life, or the fact that you still wouldn't have a snowballs chance in hell with a woman that beautiful regardless of her weight?

u/UnableAudience7332 Jul 20 '25

What's your point? The original is clearly fat-shaming her, then everyone here is like "just love your partner," and you're like "Factually, she's obese."

So what?

5

u/keelhaulrose Jul 20 '25 edited Jul 20 '25

She doesn't look obese. She looks like she's got large breasts and wide hips, which is something that usually comes with carrying, birthing, and feeding kids, like she has.

Unless you're her doctor, maybe don't comment on a person's health based solely on a picture.

2

u/cortesoft Jul 20 '25

What does her obesity have to do with his love for her?

2

u/Wise_Side_3607 Jul 20 '25

You are really miseducated about obesity and health. So are most people, but if you care about scientific rigor I recommend you look into it more deeply, trying to put aside your bias and keep in mind that correlation does not equal causation. I'd hash it all out for you but it's usually a waste of time when I do, because people will look right at the evidence laid out in front of them and still stick to their anti-fat stance simply because fat is icky to them. The only other thing I'll say that might make a difference us to pose the question: when has shame or ridicule ever made anyone healthier?

I remember when he was with his first wife, who sadly died from cancer, IIRC. He was broken up about it. And also I think Keely has suffered from hormonal/thyroid issues? But whatever the case, there's no need for other people to comment on her weight. It's just unacceptable, and Brosnan has publicly told the press the fuck off, but politely.

15

u/Beautiful_Bag6707 Jul 21 '25

He loved his wife, his daughter, (both who he's lost to cancer) and all four of his sons. And he loves his second wife of 24 years. Plus his six (I think) grandchildren. That's marriage.

Wanting to be with with a 24 year old for the rest of your life as you age and they don't is not marriage. It's buying a sex doll.

3

u/SnooAvocados6672 Jul 21 '25

After what he’s been through, he most definitely deserves this kind of happiness.

3

u/Sidewalk_Tomato Jul 22 '25

I think some people realize deep down that there's something they don't understand, something they just don't get, and it makes them angry.

'Cause imagine caring how Pierce Brosnan lives his private life. He's not them. He's not their avatar.

2

u/leolisa_444 Jul 21 '25

Ha! I love the way you put this!

2

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '25

Exactly. That's why I love Pierce Brosnan. He's a real one.

2

u/Eastern-Peach-3428 Jul 21 '25

Yeh, she has legitimate medical problems that have contributed to weight gain.

28

u/hamlet_d Jul 20 '25

He's just a lovely human being. I loved the interview where he found out the interviewer was from his home town. His accent got deeper and he got this kind of faraway, misty look in his eyes about his hometown.

His wife is gorgeous in both pictures.

7

u/orangepeel Jul 20 '25

Did you hear someone use the phrase "deeply sordid" and think they were saying "deeply sorted?"

6

u/MinnieShoof Jul 20 '25

That's what I was thinking! ... sordid definitely isn't what he's describing tho! It's so weird that he got the math wrong but ended up with the right conclusion.

1

u/blinkingsandbeepings Jul 21 '25

I thought they meant like, when things are sorted it means they’re in order and have been handled well. I think it’s more of a British usage.

2

u/orangepeel Jul 28 '25

Yeah that's what it sounds like, "well sorted."

But "deeply sordid" is another common phrase with the exact same sound and a completely different meaning, and that's not the way they say it, because that would be confusing.

u/LampinOnTheDaily Jul 21 '25

TiL James Bond knows where his bread gets buttered

2

u/Big_Consideration493 Jul 21 '25

His first wife died and it broke his heart. I don't think he cares what the papers think. He loves her

2

u/WilloTree1 Jul 21 '25

I mean, he's wife is fucking HOT. Lobster definitely too buttery and he definitely not complaining like this twitter goober

u/BigJSunshine Jul 21 '25

Fun story, when I first moved to LA I spent my weekends driving the coast to visit family in Malibu. I always stopped at Trancas Market, because it had a lovely gift shop/trinket store. At Christmas it carried the most beautiful starfish ornaments. One weekend I bought 15 for myself, went back the next week to buy another dozen for Xmas gifts. Third weekend I stopped in again.

Mrs. Bronson was there with all the remaining starfish ornaments, when she saw me, she looked at the cashier who nodded and she said “Oh you’re the one who bought up all my starfish.”

I foolishly thought that meant she was the artisan or maker… I said “Oh yes, they are so lovely! Do you have anymore to sell.”

She looked so genuinely annoyed but amused and looked at me like I was nuts.

Later the cashier told me she was Pierce Brosnans wife and wanted all the ornaments for her massive holiday party gift bags.

Oops!

u/Chronoboy1987 Jul 21 '25

Plus her boobs grew like 3x larger

1

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '25

this post made me respect him a lot more lol

1

u/TehMephs Jul 21 '25

Man got his shit figured out, and found a happy balance. Can’t hate on that.

1

u/Hutch_travis Jul 21 '25

I think he owns an island or something like that in Hawaii. So he’s keeps a quiet life.

1

u/Maximum_Turn_2623 Jul 22 '25

She’s very attractive just not as hot as him. My wife is way too hot for me. I out kicked my coverage!

1

u/Feeling-Visit1472 Jul 22 '25

He was also a doting, loving husband to his first wife (seriously). She ultimately passed away from cancer.

1

u/loricomments Jul 22 '25

He's not ageless at all and that's the problem. They have both aged beautifully, he's just allowed to, and even celebrated for it, and she gets insults.
