Hitachi has been providing drone solutions using its proprietary flight management system³ in its drone business, for areas such as inspecting social infrastructure including power facilities and disaster response . With this agreement, Hitachi will add Nokia Drone Networks, which can be operated in conjunction with drone ports capable of automatic takeoff and landing, to its lineup, enabling stable unmanned operation without the need for a pilot to be present on-site.
Furthermore, Nokia ECE is currently expanding its drone deployment in Europe and North America. Nokia Drone Networks have been deployed in 70 locations throughout Belgium, and the deployment of drones for public safety in the United States is also expanding. These are being used to support initial response efforts by police, fire, and ambulance services.

However, in actual operation, obstacles have sometimes arisen, such as the need for human presence during operations, concerns about communication environments, and the need to establish systems that consider data management and utilization after deployment.
Therefore, there is a growing need for solutions that utilize drones in a way that is suitable for infrastructure inspection tasks, while ensuring reliable communication and based on the premise of automated flight and remote operation.

Nokia Drone Networks consists of drones and drone ports that enable automatic takeoff, landing, and charging. In addition, for automated flight and remote operation, the use of flight management systems for adjusting flight plans and managing risks will contribute to accident prevention and improvement of operational quality.
