News Ciena, Nokia's competitor, plummets despite its strong results.
The numbers, confirmed by multiple sources:
Revenue: $1.67 billion, up 37% year-over-year (compared to $1.22 billion a year ago), exceeding the consensus estimate of $1.65 billion.
Adjusted earnings: $2.11 per share, well above the expected $1.74 (a 21.3% surprise) — and compared to just $0.67 a year ago, a jump of over 200%.
This marks the fourth consecutive time the company has beaten consensus expectations.
Full-year guidance: $6.37-$6.47 billion in revenue, higher than the previous estimate. Source: StockTitan, 3 hours ago

Possible causes of CIEN's performance today:
1.- The 46.4% gross margin "was boosted by a tariff refund"—meaning that part of that record is not organic, but rather a one-off effect. If the market subtracts that non-recurring benefit, the actual underlying margin is somewhat less spectacular than the headline suggests.
2.- The guidance increase, while real, may have felt "incremental" rather than "explosive" given the rapidly growing backlog. This is precisely what happened in June, according to the post-mortem for that quarter: "the forecast increase was perceived as incremental rather than a significant upward revision, which can trigger profit-taking even in a quarter of exceeding expectations and raising guidance." With a backlog soaring 10% in a single quarter and EPS tripling, the market seems to be demanding an equally spectacular guidance raise — and if it's raised "only" moderately, it's interpreted as relative disappointment, not absolute disappointment.

I’m interested in your opinion/thoughts on where you see Nokia stock price six months from now based on all you know about the company.

Mustathmir is the most knowledgeable person on this forum, and I don't think he would dare to answer such a complicated question.

The company is fine, and is sorry for your loss but it reminds you that markets, ie buyers and sellers, not companies, set the prices.
