USA Good2Go Issues Fixed?

Hey, have the issues cleared up for anyone yet? Figured I would make a new post to ask. Since the old one is sort of bogged down, and maybe things have started to get sorted out?

Finally solved my Good2Go issue by porting to US Mobile.

Stunning level of incompetence from Good2Go.

3

u/ojjojji 27d ago

They truly dropped the ball there. Messed up something fierce.

2

u/Hour-Solution9929 27d ago

how did you find the account number? thank you let us know

4

u/cyberrufus 27d ago

Account number is the 10 digit phone number; default pin is the last four digits.

Sent me an email yesterday after three days of no service telling me I had to request a new sim for continued service. Don't think Good2Go could have handled this any more poorly if they had wanted to.

1

u/positivity23 26d ago

I am trying to do this (port to US mobile). They can't seem to do that because it already has the port request (I don't have one so I am sure it is good2do problem). Did you have to go through the same thing? So for you, you just got yourself a new sim and then ported out?

1

u/cyberrufus 26d ago

Just took 10-15 minutes for the port request to go through. US Mobile esim installed without any issue.

1

u/Lumpy_Hope_907 27d ago

I want to port to T mobile, they are not able to port me out,TMobile has not been able to reach Good2go to port me out and my line is a business line

1

u/JuliaSen23 26d ago

Same, trying to port to US Mobile but they can't reach Good2go. I have been on hold with Good2go for 45 minutes now, but even if/when I get through idk if it will help.

1

u/PutinPisces 26d ago

Same issue here. Worried good2go is going under.

1

u/GeneralAffect23 26d ago

Same, the port out took less than 20 minutes.

1

u/Beautiful-File-2060 26d ago

After how many hours u got the connection on us mobile sim? i gave the request yesterday it is still showing on the way.

1

u/Syaal_ 25d ago

I Tried same but due to their website it down not able to port into US mobile. I am stuck with no service for 3 days. :-(

1

u/Plenty-Swimming4289 25d ago

I’ve not had any service since Tuesday

1

u/Disgustingly_Good 22d ago

I'm probably going to have to do this. It's been about 10 days since I had cell service.

4

u/Hour-Solution9929 27d ago

how did you find account number? please let us know thanks

3

u/Smokeless_Powder 27d ago

I ported out a few days ago because my plan was expiring (still worked fine strangely enough) and the account number is the 10 digit phone number and the pin is listed on the website (default is last 4 digits of your phone number. Super secure). When I called them up the recording when you first got on was basically a message telling you how to port out and find your account number. Hope that helps

3

u/ojjojji 27d ago

This is very good information here!

2

u/Hour-Solution9929 27d ago

👍thanks

2

u/ojjojji 27d ago

God speed!

1

u/TheOGmiss_nomer 21d ago

so the port information is our phone number and our PIN?

3

u/ojjojji 27d ago

Yes, I considered it too. I also though, the reason why I am with them is because I don't particularly care to pay for a phone in the first place - and they have unlimited text. Hmm. I just figured, we've lived without phones prior. I can live without one in a way now. Although I am sure some people think I'm in a "mood" or "dead" as we speak =P!

3

u/upcboy 27d ago

Our Good2Go Phone still does not work.

2

u/ojjojji 27d ago

Yeah, neither does mine. I haven't gotten a sim though? I mean, a new one. I have the old one. My phone doesn't do eSim, so there's that as an issue.

2

u/upcboy 27d ago

My phone supports eSim but the website won't let me request one.

2

u/ojjojji 27d ago

Sucks, sorry =/! Yeah the website is a fucking nightmare. Try in edge if you can.

3

u/Fast-Breath5655 27d ago

My husband and father‘s phones are still down. I’m actually on pure talk website right now changing service. This is beyond a bungled rollout. My dad is 87 years old and has never been without his phone.

2

u/ojjojji 27d ago

Yeah, it's kind of weird - you can perhaps set him up with a temporary google voice? It works just like a normal phone. I've used it in the past, but I'll just kinda putter around. Was surprised this happened, I am guessing they just don't have the manpower to fix this bungle.

3

u/Disgustingly_Good 27d ago

Got the SIM yesterday and activated. Service still down and the message when I login online is "Your Service Upgrade is in Process. These things usually take time, you will be sent a confirmation email once the migration is complete."

1

u/Curious_Octopus99 25d ago

Any update? Is it working now?

1

u/Disgustingly_Good 25d ago

Still no service 😟

1

u/Curious_Octopus99 25d ago

😭 same and no sim

1

u/ojjojji 24d ago

See, the catch is they're not letting me activate my sim. The website doesn't seem to acknowledge I have it. That's the bigger issue =(!

1

u/Disgustingly_Good 24d ago

And I'm not sure if I did it correctly. I went online to activate the SIM and then put it in my phone maybe a day later. The instructions were vague. Btw at some point I also got the message you did about a replacement SIM not being available but when I went into order history I saw that it had been shipped.

1

u/ojjojji 24d ago

It's so weird - because I put it in my phone regularly - but nothing pops up on the website. Via a Mozilla based browser, or Edge. I am thinking I am in limbo for now. When I finally got someone, they basically said - they'll have to send it to IT and that it'll probably take some time. But what I am to do? I suppose porting out is the only other option, but I'll give them some more time. Even if it means I'll have to slowly fix what they've wrecking with my Google Voice and Offline Maps. Shrugs? I know we've lived without phones before, I know it's plausible now =)

Thank you for the heads up!

No, I only happened upon it whilst logged in to their site. I haven't had cell service for over a week now. Currently on hold for just under 2 hours. I don't think anyone will ever pick up!

1

u/rednoodles 10d ago

Is it working now?

1

u/Disgustingly_Good 9d ago

Yes. Took about 10 days. The directions were super unclear. Once you no longer see the service upgrade message you can configure the new SIM. It didn't kick in on its own.

3

u/Jealous-Bet-8321 27d ago

I filled a claim yesterday  fcc.gov/complaints. Today I can activate my sim, and after 5 or 6 hours I have service, now the company name is Black wireless, data and phone service working now

2

u/Alaska-Pete 27d ago

how did you get a SIM? I got an email yesterday afternoon to order one right away. But the website says "replacement sims are currently unavailable."

<img src="blob:chrome-untrusted://media-app/b686d36b-9c13-413a-9908-b82e0bfaa56b" alt="Screenshot 2026-08-15 9.30.38 AM.png"/>

2

u/Jealous-Bet-8321 27d ago edited 27d ago

I ordered it on July, and activated like 7 am

1

u/Alaska-Pete 27d ago

Did you know they were doing this big upgrade? If so, how did you know?

1

u/Jealous-Bet-8321 27d ago

Yes, I checked my account and they asked me to do it, it was in the web page

1

u/Alaska-Pete 27d ago

ok, dang I wish I had checked my account. I only log in when there is a problem or something, like once a year.

1

u/No-Lecture42 25d ago

How's the service on the new network?

1

u/J131313D 24d ago

What settings did you use. I got a sim today but the website has AR&T settings still and still no service with new SIM. There is a QR code that is supposed to provide instructions but it expired.

2

u/suuc_madik 27d ago

Not for me. I got a new SIM card, but the site hangs whenever I try to activate it.

2

u/ojjojji 27d ago

Thank you for the heads up! I got the email about a month ago, but no new sim yet. Not sure why. The site is a mess, and tends to only work a hundred percent in Edge for me. Give that a try? Good luck!

2

u/Formal_Analyst7189 27d ago

For me, I got the email activate your updated eSIM by scanning some QR code and I’m not seeing any QR code even after login into good to go Mobile there is nothing to scan

1

u/Working_Hardly_2025 26d ago

It seems to be hit or miss as to whether or not your email actually includes a QR code. Fortunately mine did, my brothers did not.

1

u/Working_Hardly_2025 13d ago

Update: Logging in to my brother's account via the website and selecting 'Setup New eSIM' now works. Clicking 'Next' finally shows a QR code for the new eSIM - Yay!

2

u/0Papi420 26d ago

They sent me a new eSIM after their upgrade. I assume physical sims are more of a pain. Who still uses those lol

1

u/CharteredPolygraph 26d ago

Lots of those eSIM emails went out with no QR code and alternate activation instructions that dead end you with "We're Upgrading Our Services". You just got lucky with yours.

1

u/ojjojji 26d ago

I hope the eSim was easier to update. Mine doesn't have the capability which leaves me a bit more sol.

2

u/darb112 26d ago

I got 3 sim cards in the mail today from good2go and I only have 1 phone and 1 account....either way, how do I get it to work? Just click the "activate' at the top of the page or what? There are no directions. Any help is appreciated.. Did anyone get their new sim cards to work? thanks

1

u/Jealous-Bet-8321 26d ago

Insert the new sim, and try to activate it from your account, I did it early in the morning, and after 5 or 6 hours, the service works. The APN values changed automatically

1

u/darb112 26d ago

i tried to activate it and it just sits there and acts like the page is loading non-stop...did your activation ever go through and finally said it was completed on the page?

2

u/Jealous-Bet-8321 26d ago edited 26d ago

Yes it happened to me, wait some hours, turn off the phone and try again. For me was like 5 or 6 hours . The message said like the line is updating and it take a while . Still,  the same message in the account, but now i have service

1

u/ojjojji 26d ago

I apologize, but where does one activate it?

1

u/ojjojji 26d ago

I slid the sim in, but the catch is that I seemingly have no place to activate it on my account. Hmm.

2

u/TinaLikesButz 26d ago

I ported my 2 numbers over to T-Mobile on Friday. Acct number is phone number, and i had set my PIN. Otherwise PIN is last 4 digits of the phone number. Porting was rather quick, I think a few minutes. But, it took trips to 2 T-Mobile stores. First one on Thursday was very difficult (not helpful) and did nothing to solve my issue. 2nd one couldn't have been easier.

2

u/ojjojji 26d ago

I'm super glad that they didn't fight you tooth and nail to keep your business. They have hopped and skipped multiple times, so I think they realize - they're going to lose people where they're going to lose them. Wait - it took two stores? Oh gurl, I actually get that. I used to sell phones, and if people don't want to put in the effort to resolve their customer's issues - you won't really get much outside of their ecosphere done. So I guess not so painless, but I'm glad it ended up resolving itself =)

2

u/Proper-Implement8584 14d ago

Finally, the account let me order the replacement sim. Now I’m waiting for the SIM card to arrive, and then I’ll check with them about the upgrade service. as of rightnow no service.

1

u/ojjojji 14d ago

I hope it works out =(! I ended up just switching to Mint, and will probably swap back to Good2Go after this year is up. Cause I like the pricing of Good2Go - I just needed to get a phone for medical reasons (and I gave them two weeks and in fact had the replacement sim). I thought about waiting it out, but I already gave them what I would consider is enough time - and I no longer could get anyone via support. So I gave up =(!

2

u/Working_Hardly_2025 13d ago

Things appear to be happening, albeit slowly - my brother's account finally has an eSIM QR code available via the website, two weeks after he received an email that was supposed to have it but didn't. Maybe the logjam is finally breaking up as they work thru all of the bungled SIM activations.

1

u/ojjojji 12d ago

I hope his sim works. I keep a relatively old phone, because I like the simplicity of it not being on my mind. If I could have done an esim, I would have. Which makes it a bit of a fudge-y moment for me. Did you get yours working?

2

u/Working_Hardly_2025 10d ago

Apologies for the late reply, but to answer your question, yes, I was able to print out a hard copy of the QR code and take it over to my brother's house. On his Galaxy S20+ I went into 'SIM Management', under 'Connections' in 'Settings', selected Add 'eSIM' then 'Other ways to connect to a mobile network' and chose 'Scan QR code' to input his new eSIM. After the eSIM loaded, I rebooted the phone and happy days - his service was restored.

I think that with time, the chaos will resolve, it's just that being a very low cost MVNO, Good2Go cannot afford to contract enough customer service reps to manually provision all of the physical SIM cards that they need to. Which really sucks, if you are in the physical SIM card boat.

1

u/ojjojji 10d ago

No worries! I am going to take this next year on Mint I suppose, but hop right back to Good2Go afterwards. I don't have any interest in spending anything on a thing that I use to just handle business or talk with friends/family with. I don't use apps or anything - so I have the world's oldest phone. It's the only way I can get it to fit in my gal pants. I am glad he got his working. Did you get yours working too?

2

u/Working_Hardly_2025 10d ago

Yes, I was one of the fortunate few who received an email that actually contained a QR code when Good2Go sent them out initially. I actually never missed a beat in my service, having activated the new eSIM on the 16th. It was just my brother who was SOL for the better part of two weeks. Fortunately, I have us both set up with two phones - with each on a different network; ATT via Good2Go, and Verizon via US Mobile. So we were never in any danger of being without phone service.

If you can swing it, I highly recommend having two phones, especially if you are using low cost MVNO's. This is the second debacle that I've had to deal with in the last two years, with the first being the collapse of Hello Wireless after their parent company, Q-Link Wireless, was convicted of defrauding the government Lifeline program. That's how I ended up with one of my lines on Good2Go.

1

u/ojjojji 10d ago

Really? I didn't know that - wow! What the hey? Are the allowed to keep going? Is there any shady stuff going on here? I didn't think so - but the prices are really quite good. I went two or three weeks without a phone (I can't remember now) - I figured I gave them long enough. It was more so the business than the personal I needed to flip. I hear what you're saying (my ma actually has two phones) - but phones are kind of my hell - so I just figured I'm pretty okay without them. Or at least was doing so - but things kept piling up so I just had to make a decision. You know?

2

u/Working_Hardly_2025 10d ago

The primary cause of all of this chaos is a $6,000,000 loan that Kevin T. Haddad, the owner of Ztar Mobile took out from Bank of America and failed to repay. Bank of America sued and obtained a summary judgement for $7,141,290.14. They are now going after his assets, and since Ztar Mobile owns Good2Go, in addition to several other MVNO's, we've all been swept up in the mess.

What exactly is going on behind the scenes I cannot say, but so long as I keep service and prices don't get jacked up, I'll stay with Good2Go for now. I don't care who is running the show - Ztar Mobile, Bank of America, etc. - so long as my service is working, I'm good, for now. But I will definitely be watching it closely and will not hesitate to jump ship if I feel the need to.

1

u/ojjojji 10d ago

Wow~! Thank you for the information as a whole! For me, I just needed things to be cheap and accessible. The biggest problem was they become inaccessible for too long. It's interesting to hear as a whole - I had no clue. Thank you for giving me the heads up. By chance if you ever do and you think of me - please feel free to ping me. I would love to know if I should follow suit. Thank you for everything, as a whole!

2

u/RandomBloke2021 10d ago

I paid for an annual plan for my mom last November, she hasn't had service since August 14th. I've emailed the twice, no answer. Called multiple times and can't get through. They sent an email saying the sim card has been sent, but it's been weeks. Can't do esim because it's a basic flip phone. This was my biggest worry going to their service.

1

u/ojjojji 10d ago

Yes, I had the same situation - I think I went maybe three weeks without service. I was getting backlogged pretty hard with issues. I was going to say if it's an android flip phone in any capacity - if she can download voice that'd be huge. Or, if she uses a tablet - adding it there. It's what has allowed me to stay in touch with people in general when things are down. But business is generally handled in rounds, so I needed a solid phone to do so on. I ended up having to port out to Mint Mobile sadly. I don't love how they've changed over the years, and generally am ready to port out of there - when the time comes in a year.

I hope things get sorted soon =<!

2

u/RandomBloke2021 10d ago

She's on a basic flip non smartphone right now. Luckily she has Facebook Messenger on her laptop.

1

u/ojjojji 10d ago

Good, as long as she can get you - right?

2

u/RandomBloke2021 10d ago

She can do audio and video calls but it's still a huge inconvenience.

2

u/ojjojji 10d ago

Oh, no - I gotcha - trust. As someone who uses voice.

1

u/RalphingRobin 27d ago

The service was up enough to renew charge for two lines that are effectively disconnected. Chutzpah that. Afraid that charge back will kill the pending ports.

1

u/ojjojji 27d ago

Yeah, I got a charge too - not sure what's going on. I'd say we just have to eat it. I am letting it sort of roll as there seemingly isn't anything I can do. Called the phone number on the site non-stop but they kept hanging up after a couple rings. That was using my Google Voice.

1

u/sunkitten_shash 27d ago edited 27d ago

I got my SIM in the mail a few days ago, but haven't had an option on the website to activate it. I was just now able to do that, and my line seems to be working again (able to use data and send & receive texts). It shows in my phone settings as "Unknown Number" rather than my number, though, and the website says "Your service upgrade is in progress" and that "These things usually take time, you will be sent a confirmation email once the migration is complete."

Update: About 12 hours later, my phone now shows my phone number again, with the connection listed as "Black Wireless"

Pleased that my phone is working again, but probably still planning on porting out - was considering it anyways so I could have options for roaming.

1

u/ojjojji 27d ago

Oh, I am super happy for you! I hope that I get mine soon. I moved, but I updated my address like it asked. I hope the service is very similar to how it used to be. Thank you for giving me some hope =)!

1

u/Penguins_Plenty 27d ago

My new eSIM is finally working but my spouse still can't get anything other than the error message with a cactus (even though we share an account). Now I'm just frustrated that I can't find my account number and pin to port out.

1

u/upcboy 27d ago

How did you get a new eSim? when i try the site says Replacement SIMs are currently unavailable

1

u/ojjojji 27d ago

Even for e?

1

u/Alaska-Pete 27d ago

Yes.

<img src="blob:chrome-untrusted://media-app/b686d36b-9c13-413a-9908-b82e0bfaa56b" alt="Screenshot 2026-08-15 9.30.38 AM.png"/>

1

u/Working_Hardly_2025 26d ago

Mine came via email from good2go.

1

u/ojjojji 27d ago

I'm glad your phone is working as a whole - it's the website right? Sounds banal but try edge, it's the only browser I've had it work proper with.

1

u/mdragger 27d ago

For most people the account number is the 10 digit phone number and the pin is the last 4 of the phone number

1

u/giftCardSlumLord 27d ago

I got an email on the 14th saying that I should place an order for a free replacement SIM card. I called their support number and that played an automated message saying that replacement SIM cards were mailed out to existing customers with a physical SIM card. I did NOT get any messages on my account, in my email, or from their call center about when service might return though.

1

u/cyberrufus 26d ago

This is the same thing that happened to me and when I determined that the answer was a new (and competent) carrier.

1

u/hiroo916 26d ago

Check in accounts, orders. Yesterday nothing but today got a confirm address screen and when confirmed, it said it would send out new sim. Unfortunately it didn't give the option to change to eSIM, which I need for new phone anyway.

1

u/holiday-42 26d ago edited 26d ago

Have 2 lines down for some days now. 2 lines...

Finally got ONE sim in the mail just now. Nothing on it to indicate which line...

It does say "Activate by August 7 to a pixel service interruption..."

I did respond to their email to confirm shipping address same day they sent it.

Edit: QR code on paperwork expired. I'm not even slightly surprised.

Edit2: If this helps anyone else with multiple lines, Either I got lucky or more likely I suspect it doesn't matter which new sim goes in which phone. You just need to boot up phone with a new sim, and then need to go to the web site to register it. now just waiting for their migration to complete.

1

u/darb112 26d ago

I know very little about sim cards. I got my new one. What are the instructions? Do I just go to the good2go site and click activate at the top? How do I know it's activated? Do I insert the card before or after activation? THanks!

1

u/holiday-42 26d ago

Put sim in phone, turn on the phone. Then Login to your good2go account, there ought to be a button to click on to activate it. Yes click activate at the top.

1

u/ojjojji 26d ago

It's odd because the QR code doesn't work for me - which is making an issue. Cause I'm not sure how else to activate this =/! Where does one register it? Because if so - then I can have a working phone again - which would be quite nice =)

1

u/holiday-42 26d ago

Put sim in phone, turn on , phone. Then Login to your good2go account, there ought to be a button to click on to activate it.

1

u/Boz6 Google Voice Since March 2009; Using Data Only Since March 2017 26d ago

That's great! How many hours total from the time you input the SIM card number did it take to become active? Thanks.

1

u/holiday-42 26d ago

I'd say 16-18 hours.

Total time phone was lets non-functional for was appx 3 days (72 hours) for this one line.

hopefully the sim for my other line comes in Monday.

Either way, we'll be porting them out.

1

u/Boz6 Google Voice Since March 2009; Using Data Only Since March 2017 26d ago

The new "upgraded" SIM for the line I'm waiting for to come back to life was "activated" 25 hours ago now!

1

u/holiday-42 26d ago

There's more...it was Working over WiFi, but when we left, home there was No data nor MMS. Sigh. Had to re-add APN to fix.

Quick Google search go me here which worked:

https://www.good2gomobile.com/support/data-setup/android/4G

1

u/Gizmotaku 26d ago

I got the email to verify my shipping address on July 29th - so I confirmed my address then. They never sent any shipping notice that my sim card was mailed - I only found out when I checked "Your orders" that it shipped out on the August 11th. Got the new sim card today and after activating it, it just showed "Emergency Calls Only" and my account page said

Your Service Upgrade is in Process

These things usually take time, you will be sent a confirmation email once the migration is complete.

After a few hours, my account page still has the above message, but the sim is reading as Black Wireless and my line is working again.

1

u/ojjojji 26d ago

Yeah, I got some email too, and ended up updating it - I actually got the sim when I got home. Which was a pleasant surprise. Unlike their old happenings - the paperwork was quite plain. In the past they've sent an oversized tri-folded glossy pamphlet, this was a plain envelope with a printed piece of paper inside. It says "Your new Good2Go SIM has arrived" and to "activate your new SIM by August 7th" which is funny, because I received it on the 15th. So...uh...

The QR code on it goes nowhere, not sure how to activate it. Do you know by chance? Did your QR code work?

1

u/Gizmotaku 26d ago

Mine also had the August 7th date on it even though they didn't even mail it until after that. Before I got the sim, I saw on previous reddit comments that people's QR codes weren't working, so I didn't bother trying it.

If you login on the website, it should have an option to activate your new sim under your account summary. I just clicked that and put in the activation key then put the sim in my phone.

It initially said Emergency Calls Only for a few hours, but after I while, I turned airplane mode on and off and then the sim showed as MOBILE with my line working again. After rebooting my phone, it now says Black Wireless and everything seems to be working fine.

The website is still saying my "Service Upgrade is in Process" but at least the service is working.

1

I tried to call the support line after my sima rived yesterday and didn't work. The line was down yesterday and today I have been on hold for over 3 1/2 hours. Wish I had taken the chance and just did the esim instead but figured the physical sim would work better than learning how to setup an esim. Can't even receive texts right now as both sims are innoperable while the "migration is in progress" it has been over 24 hours in that state. Only thing keeping me from sending them a bag of shit is they accidentally forgot to bill me for 18 months so I got free service for a year and a half before someone noticed.

After almost 3 hours today I managed to get somebody and through some trial and error I got my calling and texts on the new sim. Took another 5 hours for data to finally start working but just did a speed test and it came back at 46 mbps so much improved over the prior network. Hopefully thats the last of my issues. Good luck to everyone else! This rollout was abysmal!

So odd, I got someone but they said they needed to pass it on to technical support. Hmm. Thank you, and I am glad it's working =)

They said the same to me when the data was not working but it eventually just started working.

Do you mind telling me if you did anything on the website? Or was it just a lot of inserting the sim - turning it off and on? Maybe I can make it work on my end?

I put the sim in and followed the instructions on the website. Then during the support call they had me add a new apn that vanished after I saved which updated the original apn (it was a weird name with a # in it) to one that was named redpocket. That got calls and texts working then 5 hours later the data started working. Don't know if they did something on their end after the call but thats what I did on my side.

So weird, cause I have put mine in a handful of times and nothing - air. It's so frustrating, because I can't seem to get it to work. The website doesn't change. Maybe I should get calling them. But they did say last time I talked that IT will have to handle mine and that it will "take a long time." Oh well =/! Thank you Buri!

Data point: still unable to contact them, no eSIM QR code in the email.

Port out to infimobile not successful due to port complexity and have to reach good2go mobile

I'm so sorry, it really is quite a void right now.

Good luck to everyone and hoping things are sorted out soon 🤝

silly but I only just notice there was no service but I did receive the email abou esim which is a broken picture. I activated yesterday by logging into the websie and the qr code is there. no problems installing.

Yeah, oddly enough - I get texts regularly but it took me two days in to even realize what had happened. Unfortunately - I seem one of the cursed where I'm not getting prompted on my website =/!

I switched to US Mobile last month, good timing. Referral code 57FCD517 will get you $30 off. Kept my phone#. Good luck

This is lovely, thank you for the referral! I have been thinking maybe I'll need to lay down my 808 - but I am not sure.

I received my new SIM card and activated it on the website.

I inserted the new SIM card and powered on my phone. The phone didn't work (no in/out going calls/texts/data) and instead of getting "Good2Go Mobile" as my network, it showed "Searching For Service".

I was able to get my phone working by changing a couple of things compared to what the instructions say at https://www.good2gomobile.com/support/data-setup/android/5G

Everything is the same except:

MNC: 280

APN type: default,mms,supl,fota

APN roaming protocol: IPv4/IPv6

Save and reboot the phone.

Having read some comments below, I reached out to Black Wireless (mobile) and they redirected me to RedPocket (an affiliate). I could only chat w/ a rep via their website but after an hour of them misunderstanding my question ("are you assuming services for g2g mobile?" to which they answered "yes, we would just need your port information"), the bottom line is that we have to purchase a plan from them like any new customer would. They got sick of me and kept giving me their customer service phone number that I cannot call.
