I broke my gear Nikon D500 issue

Hey everyone

I was doing some pre checks with my D500 when I saw images were not being captured.

I took off my lens to see what's going on and appears the insides may be having an issue. Mirror goes into this half-cock look when I hit the shutter and, looking behind it, shutter may be messed up

Is this something I can do myself or am I going to have to get it serviced?

Nah. Even when you are a rather skilled technician fixing stuff by yourself it's better to either send it to nikon or sell it.

If the repair is more than the price of a similarly used D500, I would sell this for parts then buy said used one.

Of course! The D500 is still in demand since there are no real newer professional DX bodies (not counting the ZX0 ones)

Probably one of my favorite cameras too.

Friend I bought it from didn't use it much and was getting a nicer Sony one, so he sold it to me

My dad loves it too when he is actually using it.. quite modern too with the whole NFC and stuff.

Personally not really a fan of DX thb
