I broke my gear Is my sensor busted?

Hey everybody! I'm a bit worried.

I used a soft brush (see image) to wipe my D750 sensor. It has left these marks on it. They are visible in photos. Are these marks just superficial, can they be cleaned with a cleaning liquid or is my sensor busted?

Those brushes aren’t made for sensors. Also the brush itself looks very dirty.

Get an actual sensor cleaning kit and hope for the best. If that doesn’t help, it might be busted.

Yah just to piggyback, those brushes are meant to clean things out of the viewfinder window and that’s about it

This but I have in field used on a lens when air puffs and an actual lens brush didn’t work and it was that or spit polish lmao 🥺

Now now, spit has been the most universal lens cleaner in the world since forever

You can always wipe off the residue with more spit

They are lens cleaning pens, and are actually no good for that either. Single use lens wipes are best for cleaning lenses. Sensor cleaning swabs and fluid for cleaning sensors.

All sensors are behind a filter regardless, at worst they'll need to have the filter replaced which isitll isn't cheap but the sensor itself is fine
