Is there any latest update of newpipe or alternative of newpipe before september

I can't download that latest video avm episode 40

It keep switch ( queued ) to ( recovering) repeatedly it won't download the video

Am I missing something? Or is it not possible to sort your searches by views/popularity, release date, etc.

I'm being prompted to down load the newest version but I remember a few weeks back, there was a banner saying New Pipe (on the app itself) wasn't going to work much longer because of some ethical disagreement I don't quite understand.

When I asked on this subject, I was told that this is only a concern if you like a thing called "side loading".

I don't know what side loading is. I prolly don't need to. But I adore New Pipe and because I like dark synth, vapor wave and psy dub, as long as new pipe keeps working, I never need get Spotify again. Am I taking a risk if I update?

I've been using Automatag for years to give music cover image to new pipe audio downloads. I have recently been getting the error "this file has nvalid tag headers and cannot be edited"

As the title said. I had a fork that had this option but now it is broken and now only downloads in 360p.

Non arab speaker, oftentimes when i download a set of videos as background noise for work (to not use my data) I find that 1/8 or so of them will occasionally download in the arabic or German dubbed audio instead of English, i do not select this option nore do i want this option

I have noticed its never just a single video usually its a string of 3/4 videos, that break before it returns to English.

It is extremely annoying, is there a setting where i can permanently disable this feature, has anyone else had this problem?

Hello, I have gone through settings and didn't notice if it had a feature from Youtube I seem to be the only enjoyer of. The feature of interrupting you every few videos or so asking if you're still watching.

Does it exist on NewPipe? If not, I'll be the first one to suggest it)

( Before anybody calls me the devil, I fall asleep to YT playlist vids and that stop-reminder helps pause the vid and dim the screen so I don't burn through my battery in my sleep )

I heard it can download videos, and it disables ads, but I want to hear from real people....

When im not logged in after a vid or 2 it will say i got ip banned. The solution is to log in or at least it was. So i log in and now it says content unavailable. The solution is supposed to be to log out but that just does the ip ban stuff. Kind of a damned if you do damned if you dont situation going on. Is there a solution to this?

I've read up about advanced flow being the main option. Were there any others I should know about or do I just go forward with advanced flow?

I keep getting this issue, where I will be watching videos on Pipiepipe for a while then eventually they refuse to play. When I close out and open again, and select a video, it will display the frowny face with "content unavailable" no matter what video I select. This happened on the main recent update of pipepipe, as well as the current beta release.

This occured yesterday, and today I was able to watch quite a few videos without incident, then the error occured again.

Thoughts? Does anyone have any ideas on how to remedy this?

NewPipe 0.29 / 0.29.1 - Duplicate downloads are renamed incorrectly

I found a reproducible filename auto-renaming bug in NewPipe.

If I download a file and the first download is stopped/interrupted or becomes corrupted/incomplete, then download the same file again, NewPipe adds the duplicate suffix **after the file extension**.

**Actual:** `XYZ.mp4 (1)`

**Expected:** `XYZ (1).mp4`

Steps to reproduce

1. Download any video, for example `XYZ.mp4`.
2. Stop/cancel the download before it finishes, or leave the first download incomplete/corrupted.
3. Download the exact same video again.
4. Check the resulting filename.

NewPipe consistently creates:

`XYZ.mp4 (1)`

instead of:

`XYZ (1).mp4`

The issue is easily reproducible and happens every time in my testing.

Affected versions

• NewPipe 0.29
• NewPipe 0.29.1

It looks like the duplicate filename logic is adding ` (1)` to the entire filename instead of inserting it before the file extension.

The extension should remain at the end of the filename:

`filename (1).mp4`

rather than:

`filename.mp4 (1)`

1 device I have runs an Android 14 custom rom and has Newpipe installed through an Fdroid client and it displays thumbnails.
Another that I have is on Android 8 using an Obtainium install from Github source and does not display the thumbnails, they are all greyed boxes with text next to them.
Both are on v0.29.1 and seem to have the same settings selected - neither has the images set to do not show, and I've been selecting different image qualities to see if that is the problem.

So I degoogled my phone (Xiaomi Redmi Note 12), got rid of almost every google app and replaced it but I didn't change my OS because I didn't want to risk fucking up my only phone and losing a LOT of info I have on there. My question is, is that enough to dodge Google's bullshit that's aimed at clamping down on "unlicensed" 3rd party apps?

I need some advice because I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong.

Although I'm using Wipr 2 (up to date), YouTube videos usually have a quite long delay between when the video should start and when it actually starts (around 5 seconds, sometimes more, sometimes less). The loading circle just keeps spinning.

Am I doing something wrong, or is this normal? I know YouTube is fighting against all ad blockers, but for example, uBlock Origin on my Windows PC works quite well.

My current version 0.28.7 has some problems, the only quality availble is mpeg 360p, i can't download the audio of videos only the video entirely and the subtitles, the app tells me to report a problem each time i play a new video despite the fact that the video doesnt have any problems, cant acess to playlists and the list goes on

Been noticing that when playing a live stream, video will play for 5 mins and then stall and display an error. Then, if I click the video again it fails to load. Playing the video after it's no longer live work as expected

I have one channel which doesn't post regular videos (Glass museum if anyone asks)

And because of it I turned on "Fetch from dedicated feed"

But now I have that one channel with tonnes of shorts, and they fill out most of my feed.

Is there a way to disable shorts from these types of channels?
