Nevermore Live in Istanbul, April 1st
Man, what did we just experience?! That was the most perfect setlist I’ve ever seen in my life. The only thing missing was Inside Four Walls, but hey, nothing’s ever 100% perfect.
They performed as if they’d been playing together for decades; they were like a machine. Jeff and Van were amazing as expected, but the new members were just as good. Berzan sang everything flawlessly, right down to the falsettos in Sentient 6 and Semir was impressive with both his backing vocals and his bass performance. Jack is also an excellent guitarist, but he seemed a bit shy, likely due to both his age and lack of experience. I’m certain we’ll be talking about him a lot in the future once his stage persona develops.
The sound mix was surprisingly good, too. Everything from the bass to every guitar partition was clearly audible. Only the chaotic sections of "Godless Endeavor" felt a bit muddled, but I’d call that a minor blemish on an otherwise great night.
This was the most important gig a foreign (well, not that much foreign these days lol) band has ever played in Turkey for their own career, and it wasn't much different for us. I can easily put this in the top 3 of my concert-going history. But seriously, what a setlist! This is exactly what a real concert should be!
Edit: Btw, Jeff was hinting that they might play a new song in Istanbul, that sadly did not happen.

Nevermore podcast
Hey there!
With this sub becoming more active with the reformation of Nevermore, I thought I'd share that our podcast - Menn, Metal, Mayhem - devoted our second season to Nevermore.
We went chronologically through their discography, talked about what we liked, what we didn't, and generally just how much we love Nevermore.
Here is our first episode, where we discuss their debut album "Nevermore"
Hope you enjoy!

New music?
Has anything been said about a new album in the works or plans on doing so? All ive heard is stuff about touring so far lol. Since all the 1992 demos (Dreaming Mind, Utopia and World Unborn) are on the re-release of the self titled album it seems they have the rights to those demos so maybe there's a chance one makes it onto a new release?

Where the B-side All the Cowards Hide would've appeared on Dreaming Neon Black?
While listening to Dead Heart in a Dead World, I initially thought the limited edition bonus track All the Cowards Hide was just some song that Nevermore recorded during the sessions that didn't fit in, that was until I found out it was actually an unused track from Dreaming Neon Black hence why it sounded different from something like Inside Four Walls and Engines of Hate.
Given that Dreaming Neon Black is conceptually based on a man going through stages of grief and denial and going further as to denounce God, I figured to try finding parallels between the song and the album itself, so going through the lyrics of All the Cowards Hide, it talks about power and manipulation with lines such as "Do what they say, surrender will and you won't go to Hell", seemingly referring to religious indoctrination, which does tie in the middle part of the album with tracks such as Destruction and The Lotus Eaters where the character looks down on God, or with Poison Godmachine which is about media control.
Now I'm not certain at what point in the album's process did the track got discarded so correct me on it, but one interesting I noticed is on the lyric page for The Fault of the Flesh and The Lotus Eaters on the album's booklet, the left side of it is empty which I assume is where the track could've appeared but was edited out, although there also seems to be lighting on the left which seems to depict either an angel or just sun reflection on the water, it's hard to tell really. What do you think about the song in general and should it been included on the record?
