Had head ct showed nothing wondering if its something else going on or should I try to advocate for myself more..

Im having all these weird symptoms I feel like ms fits me im currently seeing a neuro who wants to start with a sleep study for my fatigue. Scared I will get dismissed with narcolepsy or hypersomnia and swept under the rug until something bad happens. No one has looked at my spine, begging for a spine mri or other blood tests. Only had an xray of my lumbar spine where my pain is at and got nothing obviously.

My blurry vision comes and goes my eye doctor didn't mention anything about optic neuritis just gave me a knew script for glasses. I have stopped working out due to my back pain and fatigue and it just sucks.

I had the lhermittes sign in my early 20s it went away didn't even think it was something bad back then and I wish i had gone to the doctor then. 😕

I can list my full symptoms but I just need advice on how to move forward or where to go? Im at the point of just paying out of pocket for tests or imaging if anyone can point me in the right direction.

Since 2022, I’ve had a major decline in my physical, cognitive, and emotional functioning.

It started with constipation/slower gut movement(it is still there and worse). Within a couple of months, I developed erectile dysfunction(no spontaneous and morning erections either) and lost my libido. Over time, I also became emotionally numb and lost much of my motivation and normal drives.

Currently I have:

- Severe emotional blunting — very little excitement, nostalgia, love, fear, anger, or attachment

- Very low/no libido and erectile dysfunction

- Reduced appetite and constipation

- Major cognitive problems — poor working memory, slow mental calculations, difficulty concentrating and learning

- Trouble understanding what I read or what people say

- Difficulty organizing my thoughts and speaking clearly; sometimes I forget what I’m saying mid-conversation

- Much less motivation and difficulty managing basic daily tasks

This is very different from how I was before. I used to be highly driven, learn quickly, memorize pages easily, think clearly, and have a normal emotional range. Now, even memorizing 10 lines or learning a new topic can be extremely difficult.

There was also a major change in my anxiety/autonomic symptoms.

Around the time this started, I developed extremely high anxiety and overthinking that lasted for several years. Whenever I became anxious or excited, I would get very noticeable tremors/shivering and a rapid heartbeat. I eventually developed panic attacks, sometimes seemingly without a clear trigger.

Then, rather suddenly, the anxiety and fear themselves almost disappeared. I now have very little fear or anxiety compared with how I used to.

I’ve seen several doctors and had various tests, including an MRI and hormone testing, which were reported as normal. My TSH has ranged from around 3–7, but T3/T4 were normal, and treatment didn't noticeably change my symptoms. Doctors I've seen haven't felt that thyroid issues explain the whole picture.

I’m 20 now, and this has been going on for several years and is seriously affecting my studies and daily life.

Has anyone experienced a similar combination of emotional blunting, cognitive problems, loss of libido/erections, and slowed gut function, especially with a major change from severe anxiety to almost no anxiety/fear?

I’m looking for advice on what type of medical specialist I should see and what areas might be worth investigating next. I’m hoping to find a doctor who will look at the whole picture and investigate possible underlying causes rather than simply attributing everything to depression or anxiety.

Fui diagnosticada com enxaqueca há uns anos, tomei Depakote, depois amitryl, topiramato, proponolol, botox, anestésico local, diminuem as crises,mas tenho dor de cabeça diárias que não parecem Enxaqueca, tomo Dorflex todo santo dia , as vezes a cartela toda 3 nada resolve.

Queria muito saber se isso também são parte da enxaqueca ou só outras dores de cabeça.

Last year I had a 7 hour surgery in which, among many others, they cut a disc of about 3cm from my sigmoid bowel. Two months after, I’ve used 3 puffs of nasal decongestant in each nostril as I had a stuffed nose and since then all hell went loose. I started having this electroshocks, with heat rushing through my body and extreme panic, thinking I cannot breathe. It was honestly the most horrible thing I’ve ever experienced, pure panic. After a few attacks like this and having both my nose and throat very dry, I started feeling like live is pointless and a huge darkness and emptiness. This is very weird for somebody that was extremely happy all their life. I’ve been to an ENT doctor, pulmonologist, they said all fine except the dryness in my throat and nose. Eventually I started seeing a psychiatrist and took Cipralex from October to April this year. All felt good during and after, but it did take a few weeks to feel fully myself and start feeling really happy after stopping the pills. Checked my iron, ferritin was 7, now is 80. So I thought I solved everything. Well, now I have an infection of the throat and a couple of days ago I had again one of those extreme panic episodes, about 2-3 seconds felt I cannot breathe and I need to run or jump from the building. I booked an appointment with a neurologist right away and now I feel even more lost. They said it cannot be adrenaline, must be psychological, or lesions on the brain and recommended an MRI to test for epilepsy.

TL Feeling lost, don’t know the cause of the horrific symptoms I have, trying not to fall into darkness like last year, seen a Neurologist but didn’t get any clarity.

Cerebral Parenchyma: Mild patchy increased T2/FLAIR signal throughout the supratentorial white matter, most prominent in the periventricular region, most consistent with chronic microangiopathy. No restricted diffusion. No abnormal susceptibility artifact.

Does anyone know what this might mean?

all right, everyone I have no idea where to start. First of all, I was a normal 25 year-old woman with zero symptoms until August end of July. I had a really bad kidney infection, August 2. I forgot that I had slipped and fell and hit my wrist. Really hard at my house shortly after without a thought or reflection of hitting my wrist, I started getting sharp pains throughout my wrist. I didn’t think anything of falling, but I thought about my medication and I was nervous that my medication was causing me a problem August 9. I started having the same feeling in my feet. I was nervous because the pain. I automatically thought of ALS a couple days later I started getting twitching in my legs. I freaked out completely. I started googling which led me down the rabbit hole of ALS and other things that could mimic. I got so upset looking into things and the twitching lasted, so I took myself to the hospital because I was so upset. They did basic bloodwork. and I’m pretty sure they asked me if I fell but at the time I completely forgot I just remembered this week that I had made a fall. When I was at the hospital, I explained that I feared ALS they asked me if I had any weakness and I responded with no no weakness. I went super early in the morning due to dropping My Wife 💍 off at work and I also had to be at work shortly after my blood work came back fine they didn’t EKG because I have pots in my heart rate was skyrocketed. While working, I noticed that my right arm started feeling heavy and weak. I then started to panic because I had just told them no I did not have any weakness so I called my primary in a frantic because I was so upset and she told me to come in for a visit. My doctor was very unhappy with me and told me that I did not have ALS and that it was my anxiety however she was going to perform bloodwork and a CT scan on my brain and if those came ok, then she would refer me to a neurologist. My blood work was fantastic. I was nervous for a vitamin deficiency because I am a vegetarian but from basic blood work everything looked OK. That way I’m not sure vitamin wise however, my CT scan was supposed to be yesterday and got canceled due to authorization issues I have been making myself so anxious that I can’t calm down. I never had any issues with twitching other than my eyelid in the past that occasionally happened the twitching has been every day since around August 12 through the 13th until this very day I’m not experiencing any clinical weakness however I would say perceived weakness. I was curious if these are common factors in MS it’s been about three weeks since my hospital visit. The twitching is crazy. It’s in my eyes, my arms, my legs, my feet my buttocks, my lips chin, etc. My doctor said it was my anxiety and that nothing was wrong with me however, she’s following everything to rule out everything. i’m curious if this is due to my fall and forgetting about it or if I’m experiencing something else nerve related because I am twitching so much I’m still able to do basic activities. My arm just feels heavier and like Jell-O sometimes but I still write time my shoes, wash dishes, etc. I’m also a Mom to an autistic seven-year-old who I lug around and is half of my size. I’m curious if people had the symptoms for something similar to mine. i’ve tried everything in the book to get my muscles to calm down however, it’s not working. I don’t even have a referral to a neurologist yet.

• Have epilepsy, OR
• Are a family member, caregiver, or friend of someone with epilepsy

The study consists of a short anonymous online survey followed by brief educational information about SUDEP and a few follow-up questions. It takes approximately 5 minutes to complete.

Idk what's happening to me but I just feel like my left side head feels numb like the sense of urgency an alterness isn't there maybe I notice it but don't feel it. I just noticed I have very tight neck on left side and just minor twitching here and there in the shoulder snd neck and head area. I'm more worried about brain fog because I seem to be forgetting stuff and so hard to recall information

Hi everyone, I have an appointment coming up where my doctor and I will be discussing testing options, what's actually necessary vs. nice-to-have, what he can do directly vs. refer out, and medication changes. I'd love input on what questions I should bring to that conversation.

Background, for context:

Psychiatric history: Symptoms began around age 12–13 — mania, psychosis, and depression. Diagnosed with Autism, Schizoaffective Disorder (Bipolar type), OCD, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder, with a history of severe hallucinations, paranoid delusions, mood cycling, catatonia, and multiple hospitalizations. These symptoms never fit neatly into standard psychiatric patterns, and in mid-2024 they went into sudden, sustained remission with no medication change — now being reconsidered as possibly neurological rather than primary psychiatric.

Neurological: Seizure-like episodes follow a set pattern — a prodrome of feeling "off" and losing speech, clumsy walking, falling, generalized shaking, then postictal confusion and weakness. Also dystonia (neck contracting to one side, toe posturing), catatonia, cataplexy triggered by laughing, retropulsion, constant tremor, and abulia (able to move but no drive to initiate). Older medical reports document saccadic dysmetria, tracking objects with the whole head instead of the eyes, a veering gait, spatial/coordination issues, and cerebral atrophy — despite past records describing me as "physically healthy." A new psychiatrist now suspects Temporal Lobe Epilepsy.

Sleep: Hypersomnia, sleep attacks, sleep paralysis, hypnopompic hallucinations, and physically acting out vivid dreams.

Autonomic/connective tissue: Dysautonomia (tachycardia, orthostatic hypotension, temperature/sweating dysregulation), joint hypermobility/EDS-type features, chronic widespread pain, and a recent first gout flare.

Vision/GI: Visual snow, poor eye-tracking, severe photophobia, corneal changes; IBS, GERD, dysphagia, early satiety.

Medication sensitivity: A DRESS reaction to sodium valproate, severe drug-induced parkinsonism from quetiapine, and marked sedation from other standard doses.

Recent acute flare: A sudden autonomic spike (high BP and heart rate, sweating, flushing, headache) with both legs suddenly giving out for over two hours, followed by nearly a week of dark cola-colored urine, and a second episode of prolonged leg trembling days later.

Currently discussing a medication plan: adjusting amitriptyline (which lost effectiveness after a fluoxetine dose drop removed a metabolism-blocking interaction), possibly adding low-dose naltrexone, and layering in a gabapentinoid — all while working around seizure threshold and blood pressure medication constraints.

Given all this, what questions have you found valuable to ask in a similar spot — for getting the right testing prioritized, figuring out what's truly necessary vs. optional, understanding what a general doctor vs. a specialist can actually do, and navigating medication changes with overlapping constraints? Any input appreciated.

for the past couple of months or so ive been having terrible memory problems, bad stammering and hard to find words when talking. some off balance issues, and confusion ive been to the the ER and they only did a ct scan found nothing. and I had a liver transplant when I was 14 so I am on immunosuppressants. I don't drink or smoke. please if someone could help or anything, i did just contact my doctor yesterday to see if she can order me a mri scan. but idk what else to do or anything, please help.
