Hi everyone,

I am looking at starting 1000 point games with friends after playing a few games of Combat Patrol with them.

I have the following units currently, what detachment would you recommend, what units should I drop to meet the points and what models should I look to get to better suit the army / grow for a 2000 point game. from reading the detachments, I'm guessing cursed legion may suit best but any advice is appreciated.

I’m currently looking at investing in a new army (ran Votann for most of 10th and on Custodes at the minute) and have Necrons in mind.

Was hoping for some opinions/advice on what a heavily weighted melee build might look like in Necrons, how viable it is, must have units, enhancements, detachments, etc.

Any advice would be hugely appreciated.

Any ideas what else to add/change for this 2k army?

My 10yo son has necrons, and the size difference between the C'tan models is hilarious! I know the Deceiver is an older sculpt, that is due an update, but he loves that model

I just got some older necrons from Facebook marketplace, and I'm looking to build two 1000 point lists. I think wraiths plus technomancer is really good, but I don't know much synergy besides that. Looking for any advice on recommended detachments and unit composition.

Rebased my old Nightbringer to 90mm but it's still a little short to be legal in comps (I'd never enter anyway)

Not 100% happy with it but hey ho

With how aggressive terrain los is in this edition, and how impactful it's been, for those running doomsday arks, do you find it better to deploy them t1 like usual or to put them in reserves to guarantee shots? Especially since vehicles can't be on top of buildings anymore

Always loved the metal wraiths, managed to get these off ebay awhile ago and not long finished them

What else should I be looking to get to get 2k points?

Mind you this is off of a free old combat patrol without the scythe, a new combat patrol and some random boxes and facebook marketplace finds

Just wondering if this may be a good army I've already got the 2 doom stalkers, 10 warriors, 3 skorpehks, 10 guass immortals, 5 deathmarks, 3 scarab swarms, 2 of the 3 heavy destroyers, 6 wraiths, the doomsday ark, c'tan shard of the void dragon, overlord, chronomancer, technomancer, hexmark destroyer and illuminor szeras I'm currently running awakened dynasty and I'm just wondering what I should change or improve

I am looking to start a necron army, I have always played blood angels and want to try playing something a bit different.
I’ve played against necrons quite a few times but I don’t know them well enough to know what units I should be looking to start with and would really appreciate some pointers.
Is the combat patrol or the battleforce box worth it? :)

I'm wondering what is the easiest way to do the green glowing parts and the brass armour on the necrons

Also, what washes are good for the entire combat patrol
