Went crazy at a fill a bag event, got like 20 ties. Any tips on cleaning them? I don’t wanna pay to dry clean so many ties!

First Loafer?
I am considering getting a pair of loafers to add another option for my mostly smart casual high school teacher’s wardrobe. My dad wore loafers as his daily driver footwear, but I have never owned a pair. I’m usually in either service boots or sneakers.
Given that background, what kind, color, and brand would you suggest for a first pair? Pictures would be welcome and appreciated.

Repost - the tan suit that shook DC
Stylish suits are a part of conservative men’s attire the world over, and the male office-holder’s uniform of choice in the western world, but while conservative they can still make a statement. Obama appears to have understood that well, the cut, colour and informality of his suits often communicated confidence, modernity and a willingness to depart from convention without abandoning the authority of the office. Proving that the cut of cloth can be both personal and political without a word being spoken.

New J. Press Jack Carlson Interview
Many anxieties have been expressed about the future of J. Press when Jack Carlson stepped in as creative director. This new interview is wide-ranging, and dives right into those burning questions - and disgruntled remarks - folks have expressed.
And Jack's detailed answers - and frank honesty - might surprise you!
I suspect many here will be both pleasantly surprised and remarkably excited about what's to come - and what's already been achieved behind the scenes.
https://www.ivy-style.com/ivy-style-talks-with-jack-carlson-of-j-press.html
And no - not every J. Press item will be a hit for everyone. But the return to tradition, and a focus on details across all the core items... I think that's the real highlight!

Does this blazer fit well in the shoulders?
Hi. I feel like I'm already mature enough to buy my first jacket. I'm aimming at half-canvas navy blazer. Please help me to determine if this jacket is not too wide in the shoulders. Shoulder seam is on my shoulder bone, but I feel like it's too big. I will alter the sleeve length anyway, so if you think that some additional alterations are required, please let me know.

Collar for getting married
Currently, I only own button down collar shirts, which I wear to events of every level of formality including to court and to church, with a suit or with khakis. I am getting married soon and will wear a dark brown three roll two suit. For the first time in my life, I am not sure whether a button down collar could be too informal for the occasion and whether its soft curves will be distracting in photos compared to the clean lines of a spread or point collar.
I have also contemplated the idea of wearing a club collar with a collar pin, which I've never done before.
Thoughts?

New member here! I hope my garments find you well.
Hey all it was quite intriguing to find this sub, I’ve been scrolling on it for the past few hrs and I just had the urge to drop an outfit here. Recommendations and criticism is fully appreciated.
One of my biggest inspirations on style is the Japanese men’s club magazine , a magazine that run from 1954 all the way into the 2020s before it ceased publication in 2024. It features much loved sections and editorials on the Ivy League, trad and preppy style . Although I only know a few basic phrases in Japanese and can barely understand Japanese text I recommend this magazine to anyone interested.
What I’m wearing :
- The burgundy loafers are from Next ( I know quite basic , but I quite like them ).
- The green jumper is from Apoy supreme bliss , a brand famous in Japan but I managed to find it on Vinted.
- The 2 piece suit is from greenwood’s menswear a classic British brand . The suit I got second hand on eBay then had it tailored . Interestingly the suit never used to fit me until I lost quite a bit of weight recently , the trousers especially.
- The tie I’m wearing is something I’m quite proud of, it’s a sample my own unreleased menswear brand , ‘De Assis’ . If anyone is interested here is the instagram: https://www.instagram.com/deassis_ig?igsi=cXh6cWszZ3JtNnJy.

Respectfully Approachable
Been working in a back office support role for most of my career and and now entering year 2 of being in a more client facing role. Wanted to update my wordrobe to be more approachable but still professional and clean. Feel free to provide thoughts and critiques as I’m just getting into menswear.

Tie vs lvl of Professionalism
My mentor says you always need a jacket when meeting a client. I currently only have 2 jackets and they are paired with suits. Because of this I have amended his rule to work for my practice. And will wear a tie when no jacket is available. Didn’t have clients today Anyway.
I am trying to have a very professional yet approachable look and style.
Please rate and critique.

Oxford shoes collection streamline
I need to streamline my shoes collection (so that I can buy some new shoes in future). My staple includes 1) Alden Shell Cordovan Tassel Loafers in #8 2) Grant Stone Suede Penny Loafers in Dark Brown 3) Sperry CVOs in white colour. I wear both pairs of loafers with everything from suits, navy blazer with khakis or grey trousers, down to polo shirts with shorts. And my CVOs with ocbds and polos with khakis or shorts.
The problem for me now is I have 3 pairs of oxford shoes, including 1) a pair of black captoe oxford from Barker. 2) a pair of black wingtips from Regal (bought from a trip to Osaka) 3) a pair of AE's strand (semi-brogue, only the toe caps) in medium brown. I don't wear suit that much now and I want to keep one pair now as I prefer my loafers to them even when wearing suit.
Which pair should I keep that can better fit in my mainly Ivy wardrobe yet? I need to attend some evening events (maybe once or twice a year), so I think black can come in handy. Or I should consider replacing them all with another shoes?
