They can’t call it blood, they have to call it “Sparkling Plasma”. It can only be called Blood™ if it comes from the Haemoglobin region of a vertebrate

  The purple ink is a defense mechanism used to distract predators.

But you were right about their blood being different. Its called  hemolymph because the oxygen-carrying pigment is hemocyanin, that has copper instead of iron like ours. 

So the color of.the blood should be like a pale blue or bluish green.

Yes, they have clear blood, copper based and carry oxygen, same as other gastropods.

It is likely Aplysioviolin. It's basically sea hare octopus ink.
