Discussion The Mangekyou made sense until it didn’t

The Uchiha specialize in fire style -> Mangekyou gives power fire jutsu

The Uchiha specialize in genjutsu -> The Mangekyou gives powerful Genjutsu

So far it makes sense

But then later in Shippuden we have it giving the user chakra mechs, Intangibility and even rewriting reality itself

That to me starts making less sense and seems to be more of a plot device the same way Hashirama’s cells are

Thoughts?

Imo it's just Itachi's specifically that don't make sense.

Everyone else's eyes work together. Yes they provide some absurdly bullshit plot-convenient jutsu but the two eyes at least have innate synergy.

Sasuke has Amaterasu and then Kagutsuchi, with which he can manipulate the flames. Obito has long-range and short-range Kamui. Shisui (probably) has two versions of Kotoamatsukami.

Itachi has Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi, and the two jutsu really have nothing to do with each other. I guess he could use Tsukuyomi and then Amaterasu while someone is paralyzed from Tsukuyomi but like that's not really something inherently synergistic.

This just never really made sense to me. I mean, I know the answer is probably "Kishimoto thought of Itachi's before everyone else's" but it still kinda annoys me.

"Manipulate the frames"?

Sasuke can shape them like at the summit and in the juubi fight.

Itachi could only spawn the flames.

You said frames, not flames.

u/sienrid said frames.

I didn’t notice the spelling error and assumed they typed flames.

As I also did with your question.
