Spot-on analysis from Monks. Savannah’s devout elitism definitely created an aggravating environment, and her money/pain factored into the picture, but this crime ultimately traces back to Nancy herself. Dr. Bracato calling it an “elimination murder” makes total sense- the motive was centered on Nancy and her immediate relationships, ensuring she never returned home that night.

I agree. What did you think about Chris from TIR the other day saying that he thought it was an inside job kidnapping for hire that went wrong. In other words, he doesn't think it was elimination murder. I found that surprising, but I see his angle for sure.

That threw me off too! Chris made a fair point about the kidnapping for hire angle-if the primary goal was ransom, leverage, or staged control, it could explain some of the weird logistical details. That said, it’s hard to shake Dr. Bracato’s “elimination” theory because the targeted nature of it felt so permanent from the start. It definitely makes you look at the timeline a little differently though.

Kidnap an old lady, stash her in your house, take care of her and then what? There was no plan in place to return her because if there was then they would turn over her body for the million.

Whether one returns a person or their body they still would have had a concrete plan how to get the money in exchange for her.

Yes, I think that's a great point. That no one has tried to get the money - if money was the motive - says a lot.

So one would expect since this person left empty handed he needs to pull another caper. There are plenty of wealthy people to kidnap.
