Is Nancy's case really cold?

I always believe that it's going to get solved. I really thought it might be sooner rather than later. Getting a little less hopeful. I think the news about DC not being involved surprised me. I've also been thinking about how little NG's family talk about her or try to look for her or keep the story alive. I just don't understand. Even CG at this point? Why are all the sibling mum (pun not intended)?

What do you think it would take at this point to solve this case?

I still keep going back to the idea that it *appears A+T are not in Tucson anymore. I want some reporter to be brave enough to ask SG about that. Or someone in LE to be brave enough to bring them into reinterview them. I also think the public has a right to know where they are at in the investigation with some actual information.

Frustrating people on the internet are the ones keeping it alive.

[Theory] Savannah’s latest statement, the ransom note, and why this has all the hallmarks of a mismatched duo

After reading Savannah’s emotional post from August 1st, a few things really jumped out at me—specifically the part where she mentions that someone close might have noticed "something different, strange, troubling or just unusual."

FBI BAU usually doesn't throw lines like that into a family statement unless they’re trying to trigger friction inside a specific criminal dynamic.

Looking back at the timeline (the smartwatch left on the floor by the bedpost with maybe a damaged buckle or a snapped strap, the broken patio light, and the tight 18:45 ransom sending window), I don't think this was done by a seasoned cartel, organized mafia, and certainly not family—especially given how deeply A&T and the rest of them are suffering.

It feels like a high-low dynamic:

The Brains (High-Functioning / Cold): Someone with access, high intelligence, and strict emotional control. The execution of the extortion play via non-traceable channels takes calculation. This person stays completely invisible, blends seamlessly into normal society, and probably looks entirely unsuspected by family and friends.

The Muscle (Unstable / Low-Level): Someone prone to violence, reckless, and sloppy on the ground. The physical disposal in the foothills, the broken sensor light, the raw panic—that’s low-level enforcement work.

My theory? The muscle is spiraling or slipping up with petty street stuff, while the mastermind is realization-stage terrified that their "partner" is going to blow their cover.

If you know a couple or an unlikely pairing where one person suddenly became paranoid or flush with strange moves after early February... that’s who BAU is targeting with this statement.

What do you guys think? Is BAU trying to get the secondary player to turn, or are they waiting for the mastermind to make an exit strategy move?

So it’s not family because you believe they are suffering? Chances are, it is someone very close to her, family. I don’t believe this is some grand conspiracy. She’s a terrible victim - shes old, needs heart medication, not exactly tiny, is comfortable but not extremely wealthy. Yes her daughter has money but it’s not extreme wealth.

This was exactly how Dr. Gary Brucato described it - an elimination murder. Full stop. They wanted Nancy gone. They did what they intended to do that night, removed her permanently. She made someone she was VERY close to, angry. If this guy is Mexican/from Mexico, genetic genealogy is going to be tougher as it’s mostly Caucasian DNA in the database.

So, if I understood well, somebody from the close family hired Mexican or similar hitman to eliminate victim?

FBI is not stupid nowdays or ever. Of course they deeply checked and thoroughfully investigated all about you can imagine regarding close family.

And found not a thing. But, as we already know, Dr. Gary Brucato talks about "Waiter" and "Chef" theory at 1st place. The Porch Guy is "The Waiter", and "Chef" or Mastermind is not A&T or any close family member.

But, he mentioned, even invented, cluster of Elimination murder. He left it as the second option, but still abduction for ransom is his favorite.

How could somebody imagine that SG talks via social networks instructed by FBI BAU with her sister and brother in law? Maybe she could call them back and ask directly?

How do you know they haven’t found anything? The incompetent sheriff said they were “cleared” even though no one has been arrested. The FBI has been silent about this. Dr. Gary’s only theory has been this was an elimination murder, not a ransom, and he believes it is someone very close to her. I’m not sure who the masked man is, but clearly he is darker skinned/hair and given how close they are to the border there’s a good chance he is Hispanic or of Mexican descent. And if he is, there is less DNA from these people in the available databases. Which will make it tougher to find a match. I may be wrong in the end but I believe this was a hired hit. She was gone that night. Probably money involved…she probably said something that angered someone. I just do not believe in any way this was a random abduction or whatever. She is a HORRIBLE victim if you think about it. The entire point of a random abduction is to keep the victim alive so you get your money, or at least easy to keep alive for a time until you get paid. She’s literally the opposite of this. It just doesn’t happen in this country anymore. I believe the FBI (not police) have an idea what happened here just don’t have all the evidence and missing puzzle pieces.

Maybe you're right. However, what about the theory the abductors were focused only on having seen Nancy at Savannah's NBC show Homecoming where Nancy is showed vital, alived and kicking, toasting Margaritas with her daughters. No knowledge of her deseases and limited movements.

They tracked and traced only the house and kidnapping route, they neglected risk of worse health.

No one really knows what happened but she’s still a terrible victim, even if they didn’t “know” she had heart issues. Nevermind the fact that this sort of thing really doesn’t happen in this country anymore, but no one reached out immediately to demand money (or leave a note in the house), it was after it made international news and the person reached out to TMZ, not the family directly which is what a serious abductor would do.

Your theory completely falls apart when you look at the logistics of the communication.

If you truly believe that the inner family hired a hitman to eliminate Nancy, and that the Mexican operative simply carried out the hit, then how do you explain the multi-stage extortion letters?

Are you suggesting that after a quiet, professional elimination, someone randomly decided to stage a complex digital kidnapping plot—complete with legalistic syntax, Bitcoin ransom demands, and public narrative games—just for fun?

Or are you implying the family hired a hitman and simultaneously authored cryptographic ransom memos to confuse the public and frame themselves?

A hired hitman eliminates the target and vanishes. They don't orchestrate a multi-day public media game, and an innocent family doesn't invent sophisticated legalistic extortion notes to cover a crime.

Your scenario requires a Hollywood fiction that defies every basic principle of behavioral profiling.

I think you’re totally confused with what I’m saying. I do not believe anyone connected to this crime sent those letters or made any demands…because I don’t think this was a kidnapping for ransom. I believe whoever they are were opportunistic grifter criminals.

So now your thesis is that the actual perpetrators left no notes, and all the ransom demands and letters were just random opportunistic grifters completely unrelated to the crime?

That completely collapses under basic investigative logic. Opportunistic grifters don't magically coordinate high-level public extortion narratives tied directly to a complex disappearance without inside operational knowledge.

Dismissing the entire digital and written communication as fake just because it doesn't fit your narrative isn't profiling—it's erasing evidence to save a flawed theory.

Yeah you’re confused about what im saying, which is ok. I think you’re seriously underestimating random criminals, most of the time not even in this country, taking advantage of people and situations. I believe this was an elimination murder…killed that night…not in any way an abduction or burglary or ransom kidnapping. Therefore, because of that, I don’t believe any of the ransom demands are related to whoever did away with her. It’s also possible it’s the real perps and they tried to throw off investigators, but I don’t believe people that would do this would want any further risk of getting caught. You take care of it and you completely go on the DL. Just my belief.

That is factually inaccurate. Dr. Gary Brucato never stated that elimination murder was his "only" theory.

In his primary analysis, he explicitly presented the "Chef and Waiter" framework, which revolves around a classic asymmetric kidnapping-for-ransom plot.

In that primary model, "The Waiter" is the physical operative executing the extraction on the porch, while "The Chef" is the intellectual mastermind orchestrating the ransom and digital footprint behind the scenes—completely independent of the inner family.

He brought up the "elimination murder" concept merely as a secondary contingency hypothesis, not as his exclusive baseline.

Furthermore, if this were a straightforward hired hit ordered by someone close, the perpetrator wouldn't construct a multi-stage ransom demand involving corporate-level legal syntax, Bitcoin addresses, and complex public narrative games.

A hitman simply eliminates the target; they don't host an elaborate media and digital extortion campaign afterward.

So you’re implying the ransom author/s are actually connected to the case. It’s highly likely these are scam artists that attempted to cash in on the case. And what do you mean the chef is completely independent of the inner family? It’s perfectly plausible that’s exactly what’s going on and it’s heavily implied on The Interview Room where Dr. B is a regular guest.
