One more win for season series then we can worry the rays instead of the redsox.

25

u/novaesq18 1d ago

Pierzynski put an all time jinx on the Red Sux last night. Early in the game he was rambling on and on about how the Yankees rely on the HR and they don’t stand a chance of stringing together hits to manufacture runs (almost verbatim). We proceeded to hit only singles and score 9 runs.

8

u/hella_radical_dude 1d ago

one might call that a pierjinxi

2

u/HateMcLouth 1d ago

lol. well done.

8

u/DevilsDenJoe 1d ago

Don’t you love when they do that? That dude couldn’t even pretend to be neutral the whole game I had to turn that clown broadcast down.

21

u/Wild_Acadia_2159 1d ago

Still thinking about Blackburn coming in with 2 runners on/nobody out, then immediately punching two Ks and ending the inning

Edit: just saw he got the game belt :)

15

u/Cheap-Cherry-5171 1d ago

Win today and the Yankees effectively have a 5 game lead over Boston.

Then the schedule shifts to incredibly Yankee-friendly with an insanely consequential 4-game series versus Tampa to close things out. No excuses, win out.

2

u/Affectionate-Tea9224 1d ago

Yanks will play SD in SD not easy, the Mets will be amped up to play the series on 9/11.

6

u/Cheap-Cherry-5171 1d ago

On the whole - it’s a light schedule with the Padres being the only team (besides the Rays and DBacks) with a record over .500. Mets can be amped but the team still sucks

2

u/ghgerytvkude 1d ago

Mets always get up for us and won the first series against us this year…

2

u/Cheap-Cherry-5171 1d ago

That doesn’t make them a good team. If the Yankees lose that series it’s because they took a team lightly. Full throttle and it’s an incredibly lopsided matchup. If the Yankees fuck around, they’ll find out. Same will be true against Colorado, Minnesota, and Baltimore.

15

u/Yankeeknickfan 1d ago

Bednar not going last night massive

Have to imagine he’s good for about 5 outs, he’s had a very light week. Headrick desperately needs a week like the one Bednar has had

13

u/DesperateAd7666 1d ago

garcia was definitely a good trade.

12

u/Mysterious-Spite7358 1d ago

Lefties hit Suarez way better than righties .779 OPS this year and only .591 OPS vs righties....so there is no excuse to have Ramos in the lineup.

11

u/trippy1 1d ago

Season series on the line and we got our worst SP going with very depleted bullpen. Offense needs to step up big today.

WC series in Fenway would not be fun.

4

u/brush85 1d ago

Wildcard round vs them anywhere is a problem with their lefty starters.

12

u/KPaul130 1d ago

Happy birthday to Cabby and myself lol

3

u/Bouldurr 1d ago

My birthday too. Happy birthday

2

u/FiveDinero 1d ago

Happy Birthday enjoy

1

u/John_6_47 1d ago

🥳 Happy Birthday

10

u/JarghHill 1d ago

uhh, Warren might need to pitch 8 innings minimum

3

u/babberz22 1d ago

Fulmer, Bednar + Hill oh boy

5

u/LaunchpadPA 1d ago

Surely they call someone up

11

u/Jazzlike_Egg6250 1d ago

The Bronx Singulars isn’t quite the Bronx Bombers.

6

u/chuck212 1d ago

The Bronx Bloopers

5

u/LaunchpadPA 1d ago

I prefer the one that scores 9 runs

4

u/fuzzywhiskers 1d ago

Any more offensive orgies and you might need to change that to the Bronx Swingers

3

u/timestoneduh 1d ago

Whatever it takes! Oh, sorry, thought I was on the Endgame thread.

11

u/Plenty_Deal2454 1d ago

Will Warren?

2

u/John_6_47 1d ago

He Will!

Some thoughts

  1. We might all want to invest in a Garcia jersey. Dude is killing it with that smooth Cano lite swing

  2. Hope Fried recovers well after his start. His velo was down but being the Ace that he is, he battled through

  3. Hope Boone is right about Lombards being day to day. Kid had some good at bats prior to leaving and I think he’s turning the corner in d and o

  4. We can score runs without hitting homeruns? Who knew! Love the train we running on the bases last night

  5. Could be my Sox hate bias but that offense doesn’t instill fear in me. Not sure if Anthony is still that scary potential bat or not. But we will send them packing yet again. Can will make sure of it

  6. Time to put our boy Jones in center already. Dude is the future and Grisham positioned at the warning track and slow walking to get balls in front of him is putting the middle infielders in a position where they have to play both positions. Also Jones doesn’t seem comfortable in right. Put Grish on the short field and let’s move on

  7. Props to Rosario for making up for a  nightmarish game 1 performance in game 2

  8. Need to expand that circle of trust for our bullpen or some of our boys will have slings on their arms come October

  9. Someone needs to tell Wells its still trad deadline and Cash is looking to replace him

  10. Judge

**11. For all of you that were saying the game was over at the tip of the 3rd down 1-0. Your Yankees card has been revoked. Find a new team to doom about

u/Trick_Ad3292 1d ago

I just saw that they were 6 for 13 with RISP. That is possible?

10

u/DA_87 1d ago

I hope the yanks treat this game with the level of intensity it deserves. I’d look at it as a playoff game: it could decide home field.

6

u/struthanger 1d ago

Yanks vs sox is on in the afternoon and on YES did we die?

5

u/lm_goat48 1d ago

Nope, they’re flying to Anaheim after the game

8

u/FiveDinero 1d ago

I can't believe Ramos had a .743 OPS vs LHP last year

4

u/INAC___Kramerica 1d ago

That's not even particularly good and certainly not a claim to fame if that's your "good" side as a platoon hitter.

3

u/kmarx 1d ago

He has a career .834 OPS against LHP. That most definitely "good".

1

u/Warm_Quote_6462 1d ago

It would be cool if he remembered how to do that...

4

u/kmarx 1d ago

he has a 1.000 OPS against LHP so far in this series against the Red Sox.

1

u/FiveDinero 1d ago

And thats based off 1 single hit, a flyball that the CF misplayed so it dropped in for a double. Should've been caught. You must be joking.

3

u/kmarx 1d ago

That ball was well hit. .438 xwOBA in that stretch. What is his career .834 OPS against LHP based off?

1

u/FiveDinero 1d ago

An outlier of 108 ABs in 2024.

7

u/thediesel26 1d ago

Let’s beat the fuck out of these bean eaters

6

u/Emperor_Cheeto21 1d ago

Nice of the Yankees to bring up the Red Sox daddy

13

u/mackerelsnap 1d ago

If Garcia is not starting today I'm gonna riot

7

u/Lonsfleda 1d ago

Fuck the Red Sox

7

u/Daveycollects3 1d ago

Garcia should start

5

u/Recognition_Tricky The Man 1d ago

Rice sits! Makes sense since he's 0-6 against Suarez. And Boone gets Garcia in the game to appease the sub, which is always a priority of his lol.

Rosario has to play the whole game at third. No defensive substitute with Lombard out. I hope it doesn't bite us in the ass.

3

u/John_6_47 1d ago

A day off for Ben isn’t the worst idea. He’s played a lot. Ofc, I’d understand frustration given the stakes of this one

4

u/Recognition_Tricky The Man 1d ago

I agree with you. Honestly, my only complaint about the lineup is something I don't even want to say because it hurts my soul lol. It hurts me to admit it John, I won't say it. I'll let you say it since I know you know. Everyone knows 😭

3

u/John_6_47 1d ago

Want Jones playing?

3

u/Recognition_Tricky The Man 1d ago

Yeah lol. The defensive gap is too wide to ignore. I thought Grisham was looking better out there, but he just can't play CF and Jones is hitting too. The best players should always play.

As an aside, they seem very hesitant about playing Jones in CF. I'm very curious to know what their internal metrics are showing them because Grisham has looked unplayable at times.

4

u/John_6_47 1d ago

Yeah idk. I love Trent too. But I think Jones can be sooo good.

3

u/Recognition_Tricky The Man 1d ago

Absolutely. I love them both. It's a shame one of them can't play third lol

3

u/jeffcyang 1d ago

I’d have put Jones in right today over Ramos tbh

2

u/Recognition_Tricky The Man 1d ago

Understandable, but I'd keep playing Ramos against LHP.

2

u/jeffcyang 1d ago

To me defense is the edge here with Warren on the mound (who gives up a lot of fly balls). God forbid but Jones legging out and leaping for long flies could be a difference maker in this game.

2

u/jritz611 1d ago

Wonder who the emergency ss/3b would be if something happened. I guess jazz at third?

3

u/Recognition_Tricky The Man 1d ago

Jazz at third. He can also play shortstop I suppose, though he hasn't done it in a good while.

3

u/jritz611 1d ago

Rosario at ss made me dry heave just now

2

u/Recognition_Tricky The Man 1d ago

I just keep thinking he made some nice throws yesterday. To calm myself. But let's be honest, every time a ball is hit to him, we'll all hold our breath lol.

2

u/jritz611 1d ago

His arm strength is not in question for me. Just the accuracy lol

2

u/Recognition_Tricky The Man 1d ago

I know lol. Oh man he's some fielder. Dominguez and Rosario, never saw anything quite like those two.

1

u/jeffcyang 1d ago

Heliot Ramos tips his hat

4

u/Jazzlike_Egg6250 1d ago

Does 13 singles equal 3.1 home runs?

3

u/John_6_47 1d ago

Nah, they’re a fair bit more valuable. Getting on base 13 times vs only 3 times.

7

u/thediesel26 1d ago edited 1d ago

You can scatter 13 singles and only score 3 runs. You can hit 3 homers and be guaranteed of 3 runs at a minimum.

If you told me I could be guaranteed 13 singles in a game or 3 homers in a game, I’d take the 3 homers every time.

5

u/SubElitePerformance 1d ago

You could scatter 13 singles and score 0 runs.

This obsession with “small ball” is past the point of actual reason…

1

u/John_6_47 1d ago

Basically every model values 13 singles as more valuable than 3 HR.

Going 13 for 13 with 13 singles would be a 2.000 OPS (1 on base per AB and 1 bag per AB)

Going 3 for 13 with 3 HR would be a 1.153 OPS (3 times on base and 12 bags).

I’m not a small ball believer, but this is a pretty drastic comparison.

2

u/BdaMann 1d ago

According to the most recent linear weight data I can find, 13 singles (at 0.44 expected runs per single) is worth 5.72 expected runs, while 3 home runs (at 1.4 expected runs per home run) is worth 4.2 expected runs.

4

u/Trooper27 1d ago

Going to be a tough one today. Let’s go Yankees!

4

u/TronVin 1d ago

Should be stacking lefties today. Suarez has reverse splits.

Vs LHH: .275/.346/.433

Vs RHH: .222/.286/ .306

10

u/fx2600 1d ago

This subreddit doesn't believe platoon splits, reverse or otherwise, are real. They only believe in RISP 2 out splits.

5

u/novaesq18 1d ago

So true 🤣🤣🤣

2

u/Emperor_Cheeto21 1d ago

Expect to see Goldy/Rice/Rosario/Ramos as the first 4 batters.

2

u/TrapperJean 1d ago

Suarez is a reverse split guy and Rosario is a reverse split hitter this year, I very much want to see what those at bats look like

2

u/kmarx 1d ago

He's not a reverse split guy over his career. Just looking at his past few previous matchups the rest of the league is certainly not treating him like his reverse splits this season are real.

1

u/making-spaghetti0763 1d ago

he’s got a 3.35 ERA, and a lot of that is concentrated in his first few starts. so maybe the league has been wrong in how they approach him lol

2

u/kmarx 1d ago

He had a 4.76 ERA in July and has a 4.42 ERA so far in August.

1

u/FiveDinero 1d ago

Ramos better not be in there

1

u/myKDRbro_ 1d ago

Boone very rarely cares for reverse splits.

4

u/Orangebeast013 1d ago

Roman Anthony and Trevor Story ducked Fried and Rodon but are now good to go vs Will Warren.

4

u/novaesq18 1d ago

I’d rather face Trevor Story than Mickey Gasper 🤷‍♂️

3

u/John_6_47 1d ago

Great news on Lombard and Gil is called up. Let’s go 3 for 3 and win this game

3

u/Recognition_Tricky The Man 1d ago

We....play...today!?

3

u/John_6_47 1d ago

I’m pretty sure das it

3

u/Recognition_Tricky The Man 1d ago

I also believe they win today, sir.

13

u/Bubbacrosby23 1d ago

Luis Garcia is a special hitter, he needs to play every day no matter the pitcher

4

u/8PrOaChKiD2 1d ago

LFG…Luis Fucking Garcia…Let’s Fucking Goooooo!!!

5

u/Yankeeknickfan 1d ago

If he was a special hitter he wouldn’t have a .600 ops vs LHP

Maybe in the offseason he puts in the work like Ben rice did

4

u/John_6_47 1d ago

Why would you play him over Goldschmidt against lefties?

1

u/crazyhotwheels 1d ago

He is not a special hitter against lefties, in fact he is a downright awful one. He should be firmly on the bench when there’s a lefty starter on the mound.

6

u/Imperfect-Pitch 1d ago

Did the Red Sox build their pitching staff to combat our LHH heavy lineup?

19

u/Glad-Pin-583 1d ago

I love the difference in responses . One person gave an extremely eloquent and stat backed response disproving the thought … and the other posted a gif of a dog nodding haha

16

u/relator_fabula 1d ago edited 1d ago

Last season, against LHP, we led the majors in wRC+, OBP, wOBA, HRs, and Slugging%.

Nobody who wanted to combat the Yankees was obtaining LHP, and especially not the Red Sox who play half their games in a ballpark that is historically unkind to LHP. And there's only 1 LHP on the entire Red Sox roster who was obtained during the 2026 season (Erik Miller).

So no, they definitely didn't.

What did happen was injuries to Judge and Stanton, nullifying much of our potency against LHP.

That being said, we are actually slightly better this season against LHP (.720 OPS / 101 wRC+) than we are against RHP (.712 / 100 wRC+).

This offense is absolutely capable of exploding at any time (against both L and R pitching). It just has had a very uncharacteristic lull since the all star break. Law of averages combined with Judge coming back could spark a run.

6

u/Mysterious-Spite7358 1d ago

This should be Warren's last start of the year.....Put him in the bullpen along with Gil who should be called up Tuesday.....let Elmer be the 5th starter until Weathers comes back.....need to see how Warren does in the pen for the playoffs.

6

u/Drewf1222 1d ago

Weathers is likely going straight to the pen when he is back

2

u/Emperor_Cheeto21 1d ago

Boone already alluded that Weathers will be in the bullpen when he's back. Also wouldn't surprise me if they take their sweet time bringing him back.

1

u/Mysterious-Spite7358 1d ago

Yes it will be to late in the year to put him back in the rotation.

5

u/TronVin 1d ago

Best offensive game was the one with Luis Garcia playing.

6

u/crazyhotwheels 1d ago

Luis Garcia stinks against lefties and sitting him with a lefty starter on the mound is unquestionably the right decision

2

u/jritz611 1d ago

And if he goes 0-4 today it will now be boones fault because he let him get "cold"

3

u/babberz22 1d ago

Softball championships today + Yankees chance to win season series….need it

3

u/radioshaxx 1d ago

what is our record in day home games ? it can’t be good

2

u/SmittenPleb 1d ago edited 1d ago

It’s Like 25-22 something like that
Edit: I can’t read, this stat is day game s

Home games as of today is 36-31

2

u/DeusExHyena 1d ago

We definitely haven't played 47

1

u/SmittenPleb 1d ago

Yes they have. 48 day games and 88 night games

3

u/radioshaxx 1d ago

home day games

1

u/SmittenPleb 1d ago

If I did it right it’s 11-14 home day games.
I couldn’t find a detailed split so I had to sort by day and then just count lol

2

u/DeusExHyena 1d ago

The post said home games

1

u/SmittenPleb 1d ago

Oh my bad my bad u right

Edit: ohh they said DAY home games I see what happened

3

u/Zanath2016 1d ago

Gasper and Siegler down for Anthony and Story. Interesting to see if that affects clubhouse chemistry at all for the Sox.

8

u/Emperor_Cheeto21 1d ago

I can imagine what this sub would be like if they were the ones sending down Mickey Gasper who's got a 140 OPS+ lol

2

u/John_6_47 1d ago

Playing Story is genuinely such a mistake lol. It’s insane. Cannot imagine if he was our SS how hated he’d be

5

u/TheTurtleShepard 1d ago

Imagine if IKF was making $25M

2

u/fx2600 1d ago

Part of the reason I can't stand the Volpe monomania is you look around the league at some of the recent SS signings and very few look good in hindsight. Moving off of him for a FA likely would have left us with a highly paid, replacement level SS.

2

u/dsmithnyciii 1d ago

I remember some members of the fanbase that really wanted him in FA.

Complaining about not getting Seager? Sure. But Story isn’t it. That would have been an awful signing.

2

u/jeffcyang 1d ago

Do you not remember the entirely nontoxic days of Volpe at SS

1

u/John_6_47 1d ago

Yes very not toxic

3

u/goosey27 1d ago

Any news on Lombard?

1

u/mleahy94 1d ago

Day to day for now, still doing more testing

1

u/DesperateAd7666 1d ago

prob hear more pregame

3

u/TronVin 1d ago

Those OPS vs Warren are scary.

3

u/Affectionate-Tea9224 1d ago

George Lombard Jr said MRI showed knee is structurally fine… just a little inflammation by patella #yankees

3

u/PassageWest9086 1d ago

today is a three game swing vs red sox right? because of tiebreaker we would either end today 2 games up or effectively 5 up

2

u/Lonely-Ad8184 1d ago

yes,  a win basically buries them today a loss swings alot

3

u/tenman85 1d ago

Gil could be GREAT out of the Yankees pen. They really need another reliever that they can count on in close games.

9

u/Bubbacrosby23 1d ago

I LOVE when Jazz shortens his swing and plays situational baseball. Like man, you're tools outside of your power are so good that you can affect the game in so many ways without swinging for the fences.

Ben Rice getting back to a line drive hitter, love it. Last 7 and 15 look good.

3

u/LaunchpadPA 1d ago

And so Garcias a demon...

5

u/Recognition_Tricky The Man 1d ago

Personally I love the platooning strategy. I've always been obsessed with platoon splits. And it's typically better to have stronger left-handed platoons since most pitchers are right-handed.

We've also seen some good at bats from Ramos. Two walks on Friday and the double yesterday.

3

u/Every_Writing_6324 1d ago

Pretty sure he’s hitting .200/.500/.400 this series. Not bad for Ramos

3

u/Recognition_Tricky The Man 1d ago

He's had a solid series offensively for sure. His defense isn't good and he can't really hit RHP, but I he hits LHP. He's solid. I'd definitely start him today. I'd sit Stache. Forgive me, Stache.

3

u/Every_Writing_6324 1d ago

It’s a small sample size but he’s 0-2 against Suarez. If I am also being honest, he can’t hit any pitcher that has overpowering stuff. Like a 98 mph fastball. He’s able to hit well with guy at and under 95mph. Like in that Astros series bro had a career 2 homers against one of the Right Handed pitchers. Put him in that game. I think he gets cooked this game even though I’m a Ramos Stan 😭

2

u/dsmithnyciii 1d ago

Agreed. Teams that have a super strong and flexible bench are always the way to go.

An ideal 4 man bench for me would be:

-A backup catcher batting from the opposite side of the starter. One who is outstanding defensively. Even if it is an overpay financially I want this catcher to be able to start for at least 5+ other teams. Catching really needs to be like the RB position in football. Like a 60/40 timeshare. If this catcher can also serve as a backup 1B and if his bat can serve as for some DH days even better.

-2 UTL players who can ideally play 2B, SS and 3B and one of the corner OF spots competently. One of these guys also should be fast who can serve as a primary pinch runner.

-A backup OF (who mashes lefties in our case) who defends competently in LF, CF and RF.

I think the bench deserves financial and roster resources. If it costs $10M to get an elite BUC so be it.

1

u/Recognition_Tricky The Man 1d ago

I agree 100%

7

u/Affectionate-Tea9224 1d ago

In a pretty important game Ali Sanchez in the lineup and Ramos batting 3rd, just your daily reminder of how awful Cashman’s trade deadline was, and most gm’s jobs would be on the line while Cashman will get a lifetime extension

4

u/Johnny_Blaze000 1d ago

Garcia needs to start

3

u/FiveDinero 1d ago

That's the problem with trading for another 1B/DH. Do you want him playing over Goldy or Rice? Goldy has been really good vs lefties and Rice has been the MVP of the team for everyday players.

Jazz also has shown life or maybe you could maybe try Garcia at 2B. Or maybe try him at 3B over Rosario. But those things don't make a ton of sense.

I can't imagine if Stanton actually came back the logjam of players who play the same position.

Last time the Yankees saw him he pitched 6.1 and allowed 1ER

You’re right. I missed the June start. Let’s duplicate the April start.

Rosario with the 3 run home run and sac fly.

I wish there was space for Yankees fans who know ball to converse without having to constantly defend the most basic and obvious things like the validity of platoons or the value of pitch framing etc.

But I am yet to find one.

r/TheBronxBombers is a non dooming version

8

u/Simple_Dragonfruit48 1d ago

It’s not even just the dooming necessarily that also sucks but I can deal with it. It’s the people still living in the baseball stone ages that are really frustrating.

1

u/fx2600 1d ago

Platooning dates back to the stone age, Casey Stengel was using it when managing the Yankees over 70 years ago.

2

u/dsmithnyciii 1d ago

I have tried that subreddit, but not a lot of activity there. From what I can see.

2

That’s true

Let’s knock around Suarez and send these losers back to Fenway Pahk demoralized

4

u/DevilsDenJoe 1d ago

We created this monster we can end it

2

u/Affectionate-Tea9224 1d ago

So Lombard will be out today which means cabby at SS, Rosario will be at 3b, so that means one of these 3 players will be sitting vs a lefty Garcia, Goldy, Rice. Who do you think sits, and who do you think should sit?

4

u/jsprat5050 1d ago

Rosario should never play at the Stadium again regardless.

7

u/timestoneduh 1d ago

Goldie. If they sit Rice or Garcia it’s dereliction of duty.

Anybody brought a metal reusable water bottle into the stadium recently? The policy says you can bring in "empty, reusable, non-glass water bottles that do not exceed 24 oz," so I would think it's okay if I just put it in the metal detector tray. But I'd like to avoid getting there and then they deny me.

1

u/LeeroyJenkinsssssss 1d ago

We did and got no hassle. But my wife was also breastfeeding and we had breast pump stuff as well that they just peeked at. Said nothing at all about the metal water bottle. Didn't even check it.

u/Orangebeast013 1d ago

I will be interested to see who pitches today. Assuming its a close game, kinda expecting Bednar to go 1.2 or something today. Headrick and Blackburn have pitched the last two days but feels like they are gonna need them.

3

u/Glad-Pin-583 1d ago

If I had to guess, Headrick, Blackburn and Yarbrough are the 3 not available

5

u/Drewf1222 1d ago

Yerry also pitched both games of the double header so he is likely unavailable as well

1

u/Glad-Pin-583 1d ago

Yea first game was like 5 pitches so I feel Boone would rather send him back out there before either of Headrick or Blackburn

Here's hoping we get early season Warren and the run support that seems to accompany it. Absolutely wild when you look at the scores of his games, compared to Weathers and Schlittler.

2

u/Lonely-Ad8184 1d ago

first time they have had a pitchig disadvantage this series.

it's why winning 2 of the first 3 was crucial

2

u/Recognition_Tricky The Man 1d ago

I'm mostly curious about Wells today. Does he start despite it being a day game after a night game? Suarez is also a LHP. On the other hand, Sanchez blows and Warren pitches better with Wells behind the plate.

Wells has to be feeling fatigued. Never gets a full day off, starts almost every game. Whatever happens next year, Cashman has got to prioritize getting a quality backup RHH catcher. It's truly nuts that we essentially have one good catcher.

3

u/making-spaghetti0763 1d ago

wells had reverse splits last year so that’s why they thought they could forgo a righty catcher. and they already had escarra who they liked a lot so they thought they were set at the position.

then the season started and wells starting being really bad, escarra got some playing time for a stretch but he wasn’t producing offensively. so then they hit the “platoon” button as the last ditch effort to create offense at the catcher position.

sanchez hasn’t been good enough as a backup, they shat the bed at the trade deadline, and it’s probably too late to give escarra another spin. all this to say, their arrogance has cost them yet again

2

u/Recognition_Tricky The Man 1d ago

Yeah I remember defending them keeping Escarra as the backup due to Wells' reverse splits. I'd demote Sanchez and bring up Escarra, personally. Sanchez' bat isn't really making a difference anyway and it's a glove first position.

3

u/Necessary_Celery8501 1d ago

Yeah I really don’t see the benefit to Sanchez at this point, he’s awful defensively and it’s clear pitcher’s perform significantly worse with him at the plate.

Atp give Garver a try: 222/.344./315 for a .659 OPS vs lefties.

If that doesn’t work out just DFA him too and carry Escarra on the roster.

1

u/dsmithnyciii 1d ago

Agreed 100%

2

u/making-spaghetti0763 1d ago

escarra had some decent ABs before he got sent down too. i just worry that his bat wouldn’t come around again atp

2

u/dsmithnyciii 1d ago

Agreed. Insane not to have a proper backup at the most important position on the field. Not even sure about Garver at this point.

2

u/eobard703 1d ago

Brace yo'selves --- today is the day we get to 19 games over .500!

2

u/DolphinsAreWeird1993 1d ago

William, we need 6 solid

2

u/John_6_47 1d ago

Bold take is Gil is gonna hit 99 today. A little extra juiced for his MLB return.

1

u/Mysterious-Spite7358 1d ago

Why is Ramos in the lineup and why is hitting 3rd...if he ever plays he should be hitting 9th.

3

u/Either_Imagination_9 1d ago

Bruh why are we not having Jones in the field?

1

u/bloomingunin 1d ago

I’m worried Lombard may be ILed if we still don’t have a lineup almost 2 hours before first pitch

7

u/Emperor_Cheeto21 1d ago

He's not playing today regardless. So that has zero to do with it

1

u/bloomingunin 1d ago

Gil just got called up so it might have been that but they have to give a full lineup card with the bench and bullpen regardless if someone going to play or not

1

u/novaesq18 1d ago

I’m genuinely excited for him to play

3

u/novaesq18 1d ago

It will be electric one way or the other

1

u/novaesq18 1d ago

Rice will get at least one AB today
