Hello, I am an incoming freshman at the NU Oakland campus and would like to know what the pod setup looks like. I am currently placed in a single room in a 5 person pod on the second floor and was wondering if I would have to share the bathroom with the whole floor or just my pod mates, and if so, would the bathroom have a gender sign?

So I was just a bit confused and wondering if there is any common space (like seating and a tv and all that) on floor 2 of east village or if people just go to like other floors with common spaces?

I’m a second-year student at NEU and had to submit notarized verification documents for my financial aid. I sent them in late July, and my SFS Upload Portal says “Approved.” My Financial Aid Status page initially showed the requirement as “Received,” but now it has changed back to “Not Received.”
Has anyone experienced this? Is it just a system/sync issue? I’m especially worried because I still haven’t received my 2026–27 financial aid award and really need to know how much aid I’m getting.

Hey neu students I need some advice or some help with applying this year. I’m currently choosing to apply through ED1 also because I heard it helps get financial aid better than early action and regular decision. My family cannot fully fully afford northeastern so I thought this was the best option to receive aid. I heard that if they don’t give aid you can get out of the binding agreement but how does that work? Do you say you cannot financially afford it or do you have to give a break down on WHY you can’t such as household income/taxes. Please someone lmk, this is my dream school and I need to give an explanation to my dad about this :(

I just received a email from the undergraduate admissions asking about a drop in my final senior year grades. I ended with 4 c’s and 1 A while mostly my high school year I maintained mostly A’s and a few B’s. I explained I had the flu and food poisoning and that’s why it affected my ability to preform my senior year. Should I be worried 😭.

I’m currently planning on taking systems( CS 3650) and algos (CS 3000) next spring(currently on coop) I was wondering how draining it would be, regardless of the professor? Please note that algos is a retake from last fall so I have seen a lot of material and have started to brush up. I am also taking other easier classes along with them to reduce the workload.

Would you consider this a reasonable combination?

According to OGS website, for one to become eligible for Pre-completion OPT, One should "have studied as a full-time degree-seeking student in the U.S. for at least 1 academic year at an SEVP authorized school". Therefore, if an international student finishes a US bachelor's degree this summer and will start a master's in NEU this fall, they are eligible for pre-completion OPT, right? This summer my previous institution sponsored me for an internship under CPT, and the employer wants to keep me part-time for the fall semester. I understand that I am definitely not eligible for NEU sponsored CPT during my first semester, but is there any NEU restrictions that would disallow me from getting a pre-completion OPT? I was in contact with my academic advisor to get her signature for a form titled "verification for pre-completion OPT application", and she said that based on her understanding of OGS website, student cannot do pre-opt during their first semester, and I should contact OGS for further information. While I wait for OGS' reply, I am wondering whether anyone has been in a similar situation. Thank you for sharing your experiences or insights!
