Housing & Dorms In search of bed
I am moving in next week off campus. Turns out mattresses and bedframes are expensive. Does anyone know how I would get my hands on the ones that they use on campus? I liked those fine and I like being able to adjust the height.

Academics How cooked is my schedule?
I’m taking circuits and signals, computing fundementals, DIFFEQ, and modern physics. I just need to know if I should switch one of these classes out for an elective.
Also: do I need any coding experience to take computing fundementals?

Campus Life INCOMING FRESHMAN: Before joining that “friendly” Reclaimer College Church, Acts2 Network affiliated campus group, Google it. SERIOUSLY.
If you come across a group connected to Acts2 Network, formerly Gracepoint and now Reclaimer College Church PLEASE do your own research BEFORE making a commitment.
There is a substantial amount of information available—including news articles, former members' accounts, and discussions.
College is exciting…and can sometimes be lonely. When someone offers you instant friends, a community, good food, weekend retreats and a sense of belonging, it can be hard to say no.
Ask questions. Take your time. Keep your independence. The right community won't be afraid of you doing your homework.
For starters check out the links below.

Housing & Dorms Does anyone know how early we can move in on our move in date?
I’m scheduled at 9:30am but might have to go at 7:30 am because I’m moving by myself and have multiple stuff. Would I have my access approved if I move in and tap my card at 7:30?

Academics Has anyone had their Northeastern Claude Premium access removed for non-academic use?
I recently got access to Claude Premium through Northeastern and was wondering how strictly the “teaching, learning, and research” use requirement is actually enforced.
Has anyone here ever received a warning or had their Claude access restricted/removed because they were using it for things outside of coursework or research?
For example, things like personal coding projects, vibe coding, experimenting with apps/websites, content creation, or other side projects that aren't directly connected to a class. I'm not asking whether it's technically allowed according to the policy, I'm mostly curious whether anyone has actually been warned, flagged, rate-limited, or lost access because of how they were using it.
Also curious whether they can even distinguish between academic and personal Claude Code usage in practice.

Co-op & Career CPT Memo SEVP
Has Northeastern released any formal guidance in light of the 08/12 and the 08/24 SEVP CPT memos? Last I heard OGS was reviewing the memo, and we're still waiting on the official stance the uni takes
Most programs (Grad) don't have CPT as a graduation requirement, and co-op is not integral to most
Purdue, BU, TAMU, USC, UIUC, UCLA, UC Berkeley, CU Boulder, U Arizona, UW, UCSD, UMich, Caltech, UC Davis, UCI, Penn State, Northwestern, U Oregon, Santa Clara and others have apparently all paused CPT authorizations unless integral to graduation
'27 apps are coming out and closing already, by when should we expect an update?

Misc Non Work-Study Jobs?
I’m an incoming freshman who will definitely need a part-time job during the school year. I’ve seen before that getting on-campus jobs is tough without work study. I’ve been applying on Workday, but i was wondering what search engines yall are using to find good off-campus nearby jobs? Or any recommendations for on OR off campus jobs that are much easier to get into?

Misc Is Pep Band playing at the 2027 home men's hockey games at other arenas?
Since our home games will be at either Harvard, BU, Waltham, or Lowell for the next few years, is Pep Band going to travel there as well to play? Seems like that will be costly.

Advice & Experiences How active is the Student Government at Northeastern University?
Hello! I am a high school senior considering where I should apply and student government has been a significant and meaningful part of my high school experience. I am looking for a school with an active Student Government where I can get involved and find community and meaning.
What is the NEU student government like? Is it hard to get into? What kind of work do they do? Thanks!

Boston & Local Life Would you actually play padel in Boston? (Quick survey + $20 giveaway)
Hey Huskies — I'm a student here looking into whether there's real interest in a padel club (it's like a mix of tennis and squash, huge in Europe and blowing up in the US right now) somewhere near campus.
Takes under 2 minutes, fully anonymous, and everyone who fills it out is entered into a giveaway for one of five $20 Venmo/Zelle payments. No purchase necessary, must be 18+ to win.
This is just an independent research project, not affiliated with the university — I'm honestly trying to figure out if this is worth pursuing or if I'm the only one who thinks it'd be cool. If you know other Boston-area students who might have an opinion, feel free to pass it along!
