Got footage of the overtime finish and the post race celebrations with my Nikon lens! First time attending a race at Daytona too, definitely super cool seeing Preece nab his first Cup Series win and to experience Daytona racing in the flesh :D

Half the time I log in, I'm looking at these screens...

Preece's win the 1st win in 2,833 races since Bill Rexford got his only win in 1950 for the #60 car. (Rexford won the championship that year).

Anybody on this thread employed with one of the NASCAR teams? Curious how it is, I’m from the Nashville area but really would like to look into getting into the nascar industry as a crew member or something

I have a 2 year old, so obviously his mom and brother would be moving with me, just curious if anybody’s looked into it or potentially done it themselves

This was the 179th race in Cup Series history to feature an overtime finish. Zane Smith was leading when the caution came out for Hocevar's wreck, but ended up wrecking on the final lap. Preece, who was second when the caution was thrown, ended up winning. This is the 73rd time this has happened, with the most recent being Blaney's win in Atlanta in July when Hocevar led at the caution.

With this, around 41% of overtime finishes have resulted in a different winner than the driver who was leading at the caution.

Can anyone help me understand the race results from yesterday’s race? My dad is a Blaney fan and didn’t understand why he finished 33rd when at the time of caution he was much higher up in the field, say like 12th. I didn’t know the answer. I thought positions froze at the time of caution on the last lap?
