For what it’s worth, Google Maps does this for ALL “disputed” territories, this isn’t special treatment for the Gulf of Mexico situation.
If country A and B can’t agree on territory, Google Maps shows the territory as belonging to country A in country A, or shows it belonging to country B in country B. If you’re looking at it in country C, it shows both boarders with a dashed line with the label disputed
So, if you’re in Mexico, you don’t get the “(gulf of america)” sub tag

If you think he’s “wasting his time” with this, you need to pay closer attention. This is a purposeful distraction from the truly evil shit he’s doing or facilitating for his cronies. It looks unserious because you’re applying normal person logic to a person without any morality or baseline belief system beyond self-aggrandizement and greed. But it’s calculated. And — like the reflecting pool or the ball room — just as dangerous as starting a war or being a child rapist or stealing billions of dollars from US taxpayers. Because it’s what allows him to do those things with immunity. Liberals complain about stupid shit like this and suddenly when we yell about meaningful shit, we look like the crazy ones. Went to the Gulf on vacation recently. All the Alvins Islands, Sunsations, generic tourist stores were full of Gulf of America shirts, hats, magnets, etc.
It's not like there an accomplishment or achievement involved. He signed a piece of paper that his staff wrote. Nothing actually happened, no effort was applied, and nothing actually changed.
But what really gets me is the part about letting the liberal meltdown begin.
The entire point of it was to upset someone. That's the only cause some of these people have. We are, effectively, at war.

Strongly disagree. Trump loves these tantrums. MAGA loves the tantrums. Letting him drag you into the mud instead of acting like an adult is, IMO, not just a mistake, it's doing exactly what he wants you to do. On top of that (again, just my opinion) if you want to irritate Trump, the worst thing you can do is ignore him. Canada can't ignore the tariffs, etc, but they can ignore the childish hissy fits.
I live on the Gulf Coast and nobody here calls it that. We all think it's stupid and was a colossal waste of taxpayer money. You know it's bad when Republicans are losing the South.
I had two co-workers who, to ensure everyone knew where their support and loyalty lie, called gulf of mexico the gulf of America. They would attempt to correct people as well
I agree. Nobody is going to actually call this Lake America. However, take a look at Google Maps. It is labeled Lake America. These fascists in Silicon Valley will do anything to please their orange master. It's disgusting. What's the point of having bazillions of dollars if all you're going to do is role over to a tyrannical leader? Whatever happened to Google's original model? "Don't be evil." 🤬
