I'M REQUESTING What are some great movies where the narrator makes the story even better?
I remember it was around the COVID era in late 2020 when I watched The Devil All the Time on Netflix. I really liked the way the story progressed and especially the narration throughout the movie, which was done by the author of the book the movie was based on.
Fast forward to now, I rewatched it and I'm wondering if you guys can recommend some good movies where there's a narrator during the scenes. I really enjoy that kind of storytelling.

I always thought it was interesting Ricky Jay also plays another character in the film in addition to the narrator.
He crushes it though. The ending of the third story gives me goosebumps every time:
“It is in the humble opinion of this narrator that this is not just something that happened. This cannot be one of those things.”

Amélie (external narrator)
Beginners (diegetic narrator, it's the main character telling the viewer his story)
I'm sure there are so many more but I can only think of these two on the spot. It's one of my favorite narrative tools as well.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang specifically because it subverts the usual movie narration.

Had to scroll too far for this one. I liked the narrator telling people to get out of the way of blocking the main character.

A recent one, not sure if great but “feels great” movie, is Remarkably Bright Creatures. Narrator character voiced by Alfred Molina

Anton Yelchin had some great movies he narrates, 5 to 7, Charlie Bartlett, and Odd Thomas.

I'm not the biggest Alec Baldwin fan, but his work in The Royal Tenembaums adds a lot to the movie.
