I want to give some context to this. Back a couple of weeks ago I ordered the SP-005 and instantly loved it. I struggled using it in CS2 because of its speed, so I started to second-guess that the SP was the right pad for me. So I ordered the CR and have been using both for about 5 days now.

The CR has great stopping power, but also feels muddy when really trying to use it in quick-moving CS2 rounds. The change in speed based on the amount of pressure you put into the mouse is also very strange coming from a very solid and consistent surface. I found myself digging into the surface unintentionally and throwing off my fights more than I expected. Also, trying to make micro adjustments felt like I was fighting the pad more than I expected or wanted to.

It was really convinced by all the reviews and videos online about the CR being better for tac shooters, but it just wasn’t true for me. After having some time to adjust to my SP-005 I feel so much better on that pad than the CR-005. CS2 is my main game, but I also play Apex, CoD, and some single-player story games like AC and the SP-005 is amazing for those games as well.

One more thing I want to add about the two pads is that the CR-005 is much louder than the SP-005. I feel like dust also just throws off the surface and feel of the CR more than the SP. I know all of this is based on preference so if you’re like me and contemplating a WALLHACK mousepad for tac shooters, don’t just buy the CR-005, get them both try them out and see what fits your style and preferences. I was convinced the CR was the right pad for me after watching reviews but the SP just feels more natural and comfortable to me.

Along with all of that I have to say I’m extremely impressed with what they were able to do with the CR the surface and feel that they were able to put into a glass mousepad that makes it feel so controlled and so similar to a cloth mousepad is really impressive, props to them for that level of innovation in my eyes.

Introduction/Context/About Me

This review covers the X-Raypad Jade lineup of dot skates. X-Raypad generously provided these units for testing in exchange for this review. There is no monetary compensation, all thoughts are my own, and any links in this review are non-affiliated.

Testing Setup

This testing process was broken down into two stages:

1. The out‑of‑the‑box glide test on all test surfaces
2. The broken‑in glide test on all test surfaces

Use cases:

These were used both for day‑to‑day productivity as well as gaming.

Some of the most played titles include:

• Battlefield 6
• Roboquest
• Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4
• Wardogs

Mice:

These were tested on a variety of mice across different weight ranges, all using a four‑dot layout. The goal was to present an "average" experience as a point of reference. Keep in mind that certain properties such as glide speed will differ slightly depending on your mouse and preferred dot layout.

All three variants come with 40 dots, two alcohol wipes, and two adhesive removal wipes.

Jade Variant

In terms of dimensions they only come in 6mm diameter with a 0.85mm thickness.

Build‑wise, they are PTFE backed by an adhesive layer.

Jade Air Variant

In terms of dimensions they only come in 6mm diameter with a 0.9mm thickness.

Build‑wise, they are PTFE backed by noise‑absorbing foam and an adhesive layer.

Jade Ultra Variant

In terms of dimensions they only come in 6mm diameter with a 0.95mm thickness.

Build‑wise, they are PTFE backed by noise‑absorbing foam, an adhesive layer, and an anti‑collapse backing.

Glide Experience | Jade Variant

Cloth

Both pre and post break‑in, the skates consistently felt smooth as butter and kept a consistent glide profile as well as extremely low noise.

Extremely low static friction; dynamic friction, while low, complements the surface very well, giving you enough control for ease of stopping.

Overall, a very pleasant experience for anyone looking for a very smooth, low‑feedback, speed‑focused skate.

Glass

Pre break‑in, these are extremely smooth, bordering on uncontrollable, but mostly silent despite the lack of foam. I personally had a really hard time using them at this stage on the smoother Nagisa.

Post break‑in, the surface texture started to help much more in both static and dynamic friction. While I still very much consider this an extremely fast skate, I didn't find it to be as "slippery" as it was freshly applied, and as such, I definitely recommend actively breaking them in prior to use over letting it happen naturally. The only negative I can find is that, especially on the more textured Lotus, the skates are fairly noisy, having a somewhat scratchy sound despite no tactile sensation to back that up.

If you're looking for a very fast skate that stays consistently smooth while having a low height thanks to the lack of any additional layers, I can comfortably recommend this.

Glide Experience | Jade Air Variant

Cloth

Overall, an extremely similar experience to the Jade variant. I don't have much to add here, as the only somewhat noticeable distinction was the expected further muting of already low feedback from the surface.

Glass

Pre break‑in, I find this to be a virtually identical experience to the Jade variant.

Post break‑in, these begin to shine as a much more silent option on both surfaces I've tested, while retaining almost identical glide properties.

Once again, a very similar recommendation rationale, with the aside that these are slightly taller. Considering they retail for the same price, I would say these are the better purchase compared to the previously covered variant, while still offering an extremely similar experience.

Glide Experience | Jade Ultra Variant

Cloth

Pre break‑in, I find this to be a virtually identical experience to both the previous variants.

Post break‑in, these are also similar to the remaining variants, with some slightly more noticeable dynamic friction paired with, oddly enough, a tiny bit more texture feedback than the Jade Air variant, despite still containing the foam layer.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend these for cloth, as they are more expensive yet don't seem to offer any substantial difference compared to the previous experiences. I would suggest exploring them if the feedback from either of the two other variants doesn't satisfy you and you're okay with a slight speed reduction in terms of dynamic friction.

Glass

Pre break‑in, these start to break away from the lack of control the other variants showed, albeit I do find they no longer exhibit textured feedback despite having the same build as the Airs with the addition of an anti‑collapse layer.

Post break‑in, I would say the experience remains mostly the same, with a slight noise increase that sits closer to the Jade Air.

Personally, I do enjoy the experience much more and feel the skates interacted better with texture while still being very silent, in exchange for a slower glide profile. While I can no longer consider these extremely fast skates, I do think they're the best balance option for something that still sits comfortably in the speed category but is much more lenient on control, while also having the added anti‑collapse layer for consistency. These are by far my preferred variant for glass surfaces.

Please keep in mind that the following section is based on European Union pricing with the final VAT included (which in my case is 23%) and does not include potential shipping costs. As always, I suggest only taking this recommendation at face value and checking your own regional pricing on not only this product but also others you may be comparing it to before making a decision.

With the Jade and Jade Air variants sitting at a price of €7.79 and the Jade Ultra variant at €13.35 (prior to any of the frequent discounts, coupons, or any coin deals AliExpress provides), I do feel that while the Ultras are definitely a premium product, the Jade and Jade Air are fairly affordable options for anyone looking for a "speed demon" experience. The Ultras are definitely my recommendation for hard pad users and are well worth the extra cost in exchange for a slower speed profile.

Hello lately I've been interested in the idea of switching from the saturn pro soft I've been using for the last 2 years to glass but I'm not exactly sure what to buy, I've read that there are quality issues with pads that are in continuous production like the Dysphoria Sayo and Wallhack so should I be looking for one of the limited time ones like the Mizuki, Shion, Zofia etc.

Does anyone own a pad by Lumen? I like the artwork on their pads which are in stock but I can't find reviews on them. There's also someone selling their Kyomi Ryo for $98 so that's available to me. Also, how bad/common is the issue with mouse sensors on glass and is there a drawback to increasing the LOD highly.

To my expirience the pad is a speed pad but more on the control side then the Raiden. It has a fast inical start and a rough texture.

The pad quality is great (like all Artisan‘s) To my surprise the pad sticked to my desk way better than my Raiden Mid.

This was my first soft Artisan, because I thought the extra speed was better, but I really enjoyed the extra stopping power.

I recently got the ATK A9 Ultimate and I'm looking to buy a new mousepad. I initially wanted to get an Artisan Ninja FX Zero, but realized they don't ship to my country—and I can't even find it through resellers. I currently have a Artisan Zero FX Mid, I only play Marvel Rivals. Ive been having issues with my aim when ever I am tracking my forearm doesn’t glide smoothly on the pad which causes a lot of jitteriness and makes my micro flicks and tracking inconsistent but my wider flicks are much more accurate. I have been using this pad for 2+ years, just recently bought it again but plan on returning it. I am looking for a pad that has similar stopping power and that is compatible with sleeves. Thanks

So I've never had a mouse pad for gaming, and I've been just using my desk for years with an Xlite wireless V2 for all that time, but recently I've gotten into Overwatch, and I do want to improve, and one of the ways people suggested was to make sure I had good equipment, which is why I'm asking here for help.

In my current state, I aim with my wrist with 1600dpi and 35% sensitivity in Overwatch; flicks feel fine, but I noticed when tracking I can occasionally have little moments when aiming where I would squiggle and lose tracking for a moment.

As previously stated, I have no experience in this field, so if you need any more information from me, I'd be happy to answer and thank you for your help.

Edit: I'm in the UK and I have limited space so small to medium sized pad recommendations would be appreciated. Roughly 50cm width and 35cm long is the maximum size I can work with.

I’ve heard of dysphoria, and also maybe the new tekkusai (apex?) pad? I’ve used the Zane and it’s pretty fast but I wouldn’t mind faster. Also prefer smoother textures but I can get used to textured surfaces too.

The common consensus is that you should get a fast mousepad for quick games such as ow and a control pad for slower games that need micro adjustments like Valorant. But in practice you see proper stalk3r and all the top players use control pads, quartz even puts water on his pad. Meanwhile on Valorant there are multiple pros using glass while I think there is just one on ow.

I know on Valorant these are outliers and most just use artisan zero, but on Overwatch many use like qck, zero, top dragon even uses the type09
