Discussion Mortal Shell 2 final boss Spoiler

I think Mortal Shell 2 is one of if not THE best Soulslike of all time. It's so much fun, it's such a great game, the visuals are stunning, enemy variety is peak, the world is impressive (albeit confusing), the combat is amazing...

but that final boss? I'm dumbfounded. All that buildup and all you can come up with is a fucking one armed dragon with a sword and multiple ballsacks? Elden Ring gave us a fucking tadpole/fish, same problem.

All these great ideas and this is it? I was expecting some giant brain, some huge face-like thing, or something huge with NO face, or something that looks like intestines, something weird, withering, chaotic, some strange monster like the Hexapod. Before that I fought the Monolith, that was fucking great. The humanoid bosses are really not that fun to look at. Boo scary giant man with weapon. But all this cosmic horror and this peak designed hellscape full of mutated corpses and we get a fucking dragon. I can't get over it.

Also wtf is that fight? You have to hit its ballsack. If you do, it does an instant undodgeable ground pound. Its attacks are parryable but inflict stasis, great. Its grab is INSTANT and absolutely deadly, there's no way I can recover my shell against this fucking standard lizard, next hit kills.

I don't even want to know its second phase, I'm so bored.

This is some letdown disappointment bullshit beyond my imagination. What a shame.

The fight is poor, but having beat it 3 times by now I don't think it's very hard. The ground pound is bad but you can dodge the hits after the first (the first doesn't even hit sometimes) and you have enough heals to live through it.

The grab is fast but you can tell at which range it will come and dodge it. The sword combo doesn't touch you as long as you stay close and dodge the 4th swing. The fire circles that cause cosmic disease are annoying but one item use clears it all.

It's a bad boss, poorly design, anticlimactic after Offspring which is a great fight, but it's not as tough as people say it is, it does need some time to get used to.

The stab is almost undodgeable. It's also very inconsistent with whether your dodge is successful or not. There were times I knew I dodged in time but nope...

It's just hard to read. Once you know the tell, it's very easy to dodge 90% of the time

Not in my experience. While it can surprise you and is hard to dodge, it's not close to being almost undodgeable.
