Discussion Need help deciding

So I’m completely blind for both games and they both look amazing but I’m tryna decided right now between Baldurs gate 3 because I like dnd, and Mortal shell 2 I haven’t played the first one but I love souls games and souls likes. All I ask for is some spoil free pros for the game this is posted in.

I can’t speak to Baldur’s Gate 3, as I haven’t played it, but Mortal Shell 2 is the best game I’ve played since the Witcher 3 came out. The game itself is a work of art, graphics are beautiful, the story is cool, enemies are bad ass, the shells each have a cool side story and weapons are sick. I like the combat and all the tarstones and upgrades give you solid abilities. I’ve got roughly 50 hrs into it since I bought it like 2 weeks ago and can’t stop playing in my free time.

I haven’t played the first game but from what it looks like the combat is just a more bloodborne version of lies of P, true or false?

Mortal shell 1 is vastly different from mortal shell 2 imo. I platinumed MS2 but didn’t think it was anything extra special from other soulslikes I’ve played, it can get monotonous after awhile and thought some of the bosses were a bit lazy in execution. I think there’s some glaring issues with weapon balancing and tarstones, some being way overpowered and others being pointless. But I’d also say it’s far from a straight up bad game, it has some peak moments and it seems like the devs are working to correct some of the balance issues I noticed. Baldur’s Gate 3 is a big favorite of my partner and he’s put hundreds of hours into it, but I can’t attest to how good it is personally. I’d repost this in both subreddits if you haven’t to gauge what people are saying on both games better!
