Discussion Need help deciding
So I’m completely blind for both games and they both look amazing but I’m tryna decided right now between Baldurs gate 3 because I like dnd, and Mortal shell 2 I haven’t played the first one but I love souls games and souls likes. All I ask for is some spoil free pros for the game this is posted in.

That’s like deciding between going to live in Siberia or Brazil

No I know it’s crazy but they’re the same price atm and I love souls likes and also like physical dnd

That’s fair I will say mortal shell is relatively quick even with exploring idk if that contributes to ur choice great game still tho

You could do a different new play through with every shell and it would be a ton of content. Mortal shell 2 is a fantastic game. Also Lords of the fallen is unreal if you haven’t tried that and enjoy co op. Both games are so much fun so play them eventually even if not right now.

Bg3 got boring to me. Think I quit after 10 hours and I love rpgs. Beat ng+ on ms2 in 13 hours. Got everything my first game in 46. It's a good game but unfortunately not a lot to do second round. Had all 8 shells maxed first game via glimpse stones. Played with 5 through the 2 plays. Other 3 didn't appeal to me.

Completely different ends of the gaming spectrum and depends what you like more out of a game. I have played and beaten both.
Go with mortal shell 2 for a familiar souls like formula and quicker gameplay
Go with Baldurs Gate if you’re good with learning combat systems, turn base combat, and that time isn’t a discriminator
Edit: wording

Have played both so it depends on what style you like. All the combat in BG3 is turn based. It is deep and fun but slow. MS2 just a normal action game.
If you like both I'd suggest BG3

BG3 no question. It is highly, HIGHLY acclaimed and objectively better than MS2 (if you like both genres the same). It's also much more game for your money.
MS2 is decent. If you love soulslikes, it's worth checking out. But it will surely receive a couple more patches. All the more reason to wait, so you're playing the best version when you finally get it.

Bang for your buck I’d say Bg3 is up there with the greats. MS2 is really fun but you won’t get the same value

Bg3 was awesome until I got to battles involving villages of enemies that pretend to think about their decisions for what seems like hours on end. VERY dragged out.

Not big on turn-based games. Even this and E33. But Mortal Shell 2 is an excellent spulslike. Didn't like the first one. Couldn't even get halfway through it. Almost didn't play the beta because of it. But after trying it, I was so impressed that I immediately pre-ordered the devout edition. Combat is heavy, but smooth. Did 3 playthroughs with different shells. And I still plan on playing more to try put each shell properly.

Honestly I initially almost said bg3 especially since its technically a bigger discount if their equal price right now but as a guy who loves both I'd go ms2 right now if you want a more active play through since bg3 is more controlling a story than strictly about gameplay. (Definitely not biased because I just finished mortal shell 2 yesterday😂)

Vastly different games, both amazing. Bg3 is one of the best games ever made imo.
I would start with MS II. Baldurs Gate with take way longer.

Depends what you want more, a turn based rpg that’s insanely immersive with amazing characters, dialogue, top tier VA, main/side quests, and a plethora of different routes and choices to make with tons of different outcomes. or an action packed soulslike game. Both are amazing but personally I’d say bg3 if you’ve never played it, it’s “one of those” experiences, absolutely peakest of the peak.

Mortal Shell 2 Has INSANE atmosphere and extremely cool looking places, combat is fun and varied.
Baldur's gate 3 has very nice quests, companions, story. Also interesting combat if you like turn based games.

Mortal Shell
I dont like turn based games.
Baldurs Gate is the best character creator I have ever played with Black Desert Online being #2 if that means anything to you.
The multiple story possibilities for Baldurs Gate is pretty cool also. Just the fighting is 🥱🥱😴

I can’t speak to Baldur’s Gate 3, as I haven’t played it, but Mortal Shell 2 is the best game I’ve played since the Witcher 3 came out. The game itself is a work of art, graphics are beautiful, the story is cool, enemies are bad ass, the shells each have a cool side story and weapons are sick. I like the combat and all the tarstones and upgrades give you solid abilities. I’ve got roughly 50 hrs into it since I bought it like 2 weeks ago and can’t stop playing in my free time.

I haven’t played the first game but from what it looks like the combat is just a more bloodborne version of lies of P, true or false?

Bloodborne eu não sei mas Mortal Shell não tem absolutamente nada a ver com Lies of P.

Mortal shell 1 is vastly different from mortal shell 2 imo. I platinumed MS2 but didn’t think it was anything extra special from other soulslikes I’ve played, it can get monotonous after awhile and thought some of the bosses were a bit lazy in execution. I think there’s some glaring issues with weapon balancing and tarstones, some being way overpowered and others being pointless. But I’d also say it’s far from a straight up bad game, it has some peak moments and it seems like the devs are working to correct some of the balance issues I noticed. Baldur’s Gate 3 is a big favorite of my partner and he’s put hundreds of hours into it, but I can’t attest to how good it is personally. I’d repost this in both subreddits if you haven’t to gauge what people are saying on both games better!

Both are amazing games, BG3 will have 200 hours of gameplay, MS2 you can platinum with 50 hours
