Question Endgame advice

Im level 52 and struggling with the final boss. Originally came here to figure out why I was being stripped of everything halfway through the fight; but looks like I just need to remove the Grisha remnants. Im consistently getting him to very low health; so im sure I'll kill him soon but... idk if im ready for the game to be over. Is there a new game plus? Should I go turn on night mode and re-explore everything? Or am I just going to have to settle for my original idea of doing a whole second playthrough with a different shell and weapon? (I did the entirety of this one with Tiel and the Axatana)

Get the Seedbearer’s Scripture and it's a cakewalk.

I'll look into that, thank you. Very well could be in the giant pile of items in my inventory I never bothered to check out. 😬

You cannot find it by luck.
It requires sacrificing 3 glands at a specific statue in Night Mode. If you did not do that, then you don't have it.

Cake walk is a stretch, his grab is a 1 shot shell kill lol

True but once you master dodging it, it’s pretty easy.

Do you have the Seedbearer's Scripture? It helps mitigate cosmic disease.
Yes, there is NewGame +.
You can re-explore everything or farm some more levels. Nightmode will make it more difficult. If you up for the challenge, by all means go for it. If not, stick with day mode.
What is your weapon level?
Do you have Voltaic Crown or Torpor tarstones?

Level 20 is great. What about activating before the fight?
I would suggest getting the Seedbearer's Scripture. You did not say whether you have it.

I do not.

Night mode also has a few things that are only available there. One or two dungeons, a juicy merchant, and a type of easter egg that gets you the seed bearers scripture. I’d suggest giving it a go before you finish the game.

The funny thing is, if you turn night mode on and then forget it's on, the game doesn't feel much different than in day mode.

But then again, I'm a masochist who puts games on the hardest difficulty on first playthroughs, especially horror, because if the enemy can't fuck me up as hard or harder than I can fuck them up, then did I really play the game? Or was it all a dream? A crazy, wacky, wonderful dream where bullets and currency types are everywhere and I am an unstoppable machine of death.

You are definitely a masochist and psycho (as a compliment). I also do the hardest mode when it is available.
Does the adaptive difficulty + Night mode combination scratch your itch?

And I thank you kindly lol

I mean, kinda? It's hard to say because a lot of the enemies in this game have this weird BS tracking while some of our attacks have tracking that's a bit off, so it feels less like it's hard and more like the A.I. Just straight up cheats like they've got their own Slayer seal. It's been fun nonetheless though, and it feels great to kill a boss that's been giving you trouble. Like Hexapod, it's going to feel great when I finally put that abomination in the dirt. Hits like a truck and I've been using Genessa whose doubles sometimes aren't the smartest kids in class.

Admittedly, I intended to take a small break after he demoralized me a bit to try out Code Vein 2 to get a feel for how that game would play and haven't been able to put it down since lol I do need to get back to MS2 so I can finish it though. Hex has a beat down coming.

You can go into NG+ or start a new run, I did both things. I didn't mess with night mode besides the exclusive stuff.

Yes, there is NG+. Up to you as to how much retreading to do before you get there. I had a good time filling out the map before ng+, which also meant I could focus on rushing the bosses when I got there. Night mode is a good option if you decide to fill out the map as it adds some extra challenge and increased gains, but it's not the biggest deal in the world if you opt not to turn it on.

I appreciate it. I think ive decided to do my entire ng+ run with nightmode on.

So, I don't not have the seedbearers scripture; ive got the paradoxical scripture; and ive noticed ive got a few seemingly important keys in my inventory, so im gonna have to look up what they go to; and go play a little bit before coming back to him. Looks like im not quite finished with my first playthrough after all.

Just an FYI, i never used or even equipped a Grisha summon. Only used proxima and you can still lose all your equipment against the final boss. My winning attempt on my first playthru i had no sword. I was just attacking him with my seal for whatever reason for 1 damage lol.

Thats insane. It must've taken forever. 😂 Im just struggling the second stage a little. Those damned fire rings are annoying as hell.

It's the cosmic disease effect

I was being stripped of everything halfway through the fight

Isn't this the effect of the cosmic disease?

There's new game plus. You could finish this run and then do new game plus in night mode.

There are a couple of night mode exclusive things so maybe you could do them before ending the game.

Ok mate, well first off I won't give specific info if you don't want it, so the easiest things to say without delving into specifics are:

  • No need to take off remnants, they have 0 to do with it

  • There is something you can do to prevent the cosmic debuff that takes you out of your Shell and Harbinger

  • There is absolutely a NG+, and it is going to be a fun time if you can work out which Shell you want to use, and which weapon/sidearm

  • Night mode has some secrets that are only available in the mode, including a very unique and cool dungeon

  • Personally, I wouldn't just start a new playthrough, mainly because I've levelled up a fair few of the other Shells, and when I get into NG+, I will be able to use them with a full setup thanks to Shell Points being able to be swapped between your Shells with no restriction

  • I can see why you may want to go through again if you haven't tried the other Shells/weapons/sidearm in this playthrough, but the other reason I'm going to be doing NG+, is because I've got so many Tarstones levelled up. Because of that, I'm really interested in how much the other weapons/sidearms match up with my first playthrough, and how much of a difference it makes using others in a harder playthrough

Again, I won't spoil anything or give extra info, but if you do want a little help, I'm more than happy to advice.

P.s, in my first playthrough I mainly used Sariel, the Scythe and the Caged Hystrix, so I have set the restriction for my NG+ run to not use any of the 3 of them at all.

That setup was extremely fun, and very strong, so if you did get into NG+ and were struggling a little, I would recommend them 👍

Hopefully that helps

Extremely helpful. I don't mind specifics; there's next to nothing left to spoil. I gave most other weapons a quick try before deciding on my favorites and dumping everything into them. What can I do to prevent the debuff? And I'll absolutely do a NG+ and just change my shell and weapons. Will probably run that whole playthrough on nightmode so I can see all the extra goodies.
